And why are they ignoring the "And we let them off the hook!"? That explains exactly what he's mad about. They had experienced the type of team the bears were they knew how to beat them and they didn't follow through. There was exactly nothing confusing about his press statement.
Well the part about the 3rd preseason game also made no sense
Yeah that bears team was very beatable they were who they thought they were and they absolutely let em off the hook. The cardinals gameplan was great going in they just didnt finish it.
The best part of Mora’s rant is his stuttering at the beginning: “Uh, dit-but-bit-PLAYOFFS?”

I get what Green meant (that his cardinals knew the weaknesses of the bears, had them down, then gave up the lead) and he was totally right. It's pretty sad that they basically fired him over the rant considering how popular it is.

Yeah, but the bears went to the supabo that year... so maybe Arizona just played a really good game that day and shoulda beaten the bears. But woulda shoulda coulda.

Trivia: the player responsible for the infamous "playoffs" rant was Peyton Manning. Manning had a terrible game that day, highlighted by five turnovers, 3 of them setting up the 49ers to score touchdowns, while another was a pick-6. The loss meant the Colts were at a 4-6 record, and this particular game took place in November, so trying to claw back to a playoff seed was an uphill task, even for the Manning-led Colts (spoiler: the Colts finished the season 6-10, and Mora got the pink slip after the season's conclusion).
Hey at least they won another game.

Bonus trivia: Elsewhere in the rant, Mora states that beating a high school team, let alone an NFL team, with a turnover differential of -5 is impossible. In fact, just a year before his rant, the Titan overcame a -6 turnover differential to defeat the Browns.
It's like a boxer who notices his opponent telegraphing his punches, but he knocks you out with one. "I saw it coming the whole way, but he still caught me with it." That's all Coach Green was saying.
I'm glad I got to watch NFL at the same time as Herm Edwards coaching in the NFL. Same for Jim Mora, beautiful interviews.

I think what green meant, and I can only speculate, But I think he was saying that we knew the bears didn't have an offence and need to win with turnovers and special teams, but they made those kinds of mistakes to lose the game anyway. The bears are who we thought they where, a team that needed turnovers and mistakes from the other team to win, and we let them off the hook, because we kept making the mistakes they needed
Exactly. The Cardinals succeeded in holding the underwhelming Bears offense to a field goal, then let them score three unanswered touchdowns on defense and special teams to lose the game by one point. They also missed a game-winning field goal in the final seconds. Truly the definition of letting them off the hook

Dennie Green was heated cause the Bears were super good in 2006 and the Cardinals were not. The Bears came in at 5-0 and the Cardinals were 1-4, Cardinals were up by 20 at halftime and lost 23-24. Dennie was pissed because he (and by extension the team) weren't buying into the hype of the Bears, and almost proved it before snatching defeat from the jaws of victory.

I’d never seen that clip of Jim Mora falling 😂😂😂. The best rant of alltime was Vikings coach Jerry Burns who they show for a second at the beginning of this clip.

The spookiest part is we don’t even know WHAT the interviewer asked because you can’t hear the question at all in any of the clips. We just assume it was something along the lines of “do you think your team can still make the playoffs this year?”
