Looks very good! I prefer to cut mine a little bit thicker than yours but NOT too thick. To save calories and lower cholesterol for us seniors, nowadays I prefer to boil mine for a few minutes, u can add bit of salt. I mashed them with low fat milk and healthy vegan butter or butter if you prefer. It should look like thick mashed potatoes. Then i spray the pan, assemble my pastelon starting with the mashed platano, cooked ground meat, cheese, then top with more mashed platano and some cheese. You can make 1 layer or two. Bake it until bubbly, apprx 45 mins. For a chage sometimes I add 1 can of green beans as one of the layers. My guests love it this way, even those that never liked the fried version enjoyed it this way. There is a great recipe online for this version. I LOVE HIS TOO.....

You ALWAYS want to SHRED the cheese yourself. Do not buy shredded cheese for anything other than cheap Nacho microwave bake. Shredded Cheese has chemicals in it that help to keep it shredded in the bag but make it taste different in baking. Always by block or round cheese and shred yourself.
