We always formed the rounds with toothpicks and did the whole production in the frying pan over hot oil. This seems so much simpler and doable! Gracias 😊
I do plan on making this, this weekend. I am born 63 years with a Puerto Rican mother, who is born in Puerto Rico and my father, who is Italian born in New Jersey,; since my children are grown up now I hate to cook ever. I’m not skinny but I for real hard to get several pounds off me. My point is I hate to cook, but I’m going to try this weekend to make this. My father loves different recipes different cultures. I was not raised to speak Spanish at home, I learned it from the outside and as I get older, it is disappearing the few words that I know. So when you think about it, I’m a white Puerto Rican Italian from New York. 😂 so I am going to try my best and then I will get back to you with my results and a picture I am from New York but live in Palm Bay Florida. Funny thing is I love the cold. 😮 Ruth
@@ken_tx No, because unripe plantains are savory and firm, which makes both the taste and texture different from ripe plantains. What makes this recipe special is the sweetness and softness of the ripe plantains combined with the savory filling!
I'm Moroccan and I try this it's crazy nice
Looks so good. I make these and I love them. Wepa!
Thank you!
Great video, wondering if I could bake the plantain or air fry?

Your husband is a lucky man to get this type of food daily
Omg This looks so yummy, and I can't wait to make it
I’m watching your video and thinking this would also be great if you sauteed or rendered some lardons or pancetta pieces. Added to the meat mix.
Yum!
My dad is from PR and I’ve never heard of this??
Do you have a recipe to share for your sofrito ?
Yes, I have 2 on my channel 😊
How do you reheat them? I want to surprise my inlaws and make these but they live about 2 hrs away. Im sure theyll need to be reheated.
You can reheat them in the oven at a low temperature. At about 250°F until warm. 🙌🏽 If you have access to toaster oven, that’s even easier.
Can you do this same recipe with unripe plantains?

🙏👍💯
😍
Do you think that you can make rice pudding??
Looks delicious! You forgot to add garlic powder to your list of ingredients. It looks like you put quite a bit.
@@XjtBA Thank you for catching that!
Can you make one on pig feet 🥹🫶
