AYo!! bro, great video, I love the buildings and inspiration in the video! love to see more content like this, although I wished you would have told me you were recording on the city, i could have shown you the new city haha! Anyway, good job, and thank you!
@@smashmonster6929 I am not quite sure which footage you are refering to exactly, but those were'nt my inspirations. Some of the footage was also filmed on a server of a friend, and I don't know what he was inspired by 😃
To me a Minecraft city should be on the Minecraft terrain, not flat. And the scale in Minecraft is 1 block= 1 meter (from standard metric system) and therefore windows should be like doors: meaning 1 by 2. Not 2 by 4, it costs 4 times the amount of blocks and is disgustingly tall next to the Minecraft terrain and trees
Yep, I too think that the flat terrain is boring, thats why I moved the city to a custom WorldPainter map. My city and map are also roughly at a 1.5:1 scale meaning that doors and windows must be slightly larger.
Just discovered this video and it's really helpful! I've been working on my minecraft city called Oshix for a few years now (got a few videos on my RUclips channel) and these tips and tricks are really quite helpful! Great stuff :)
Nice tutorial! Apparently I can’t say this is a new city, as I started building it in 2022 but this year I switched from PE to Java so I’ll have to rebuild what was completed there. The city is based genereally on Kiev and Moscow but there are also adds from other post USSR like Tallinn or Riga. It could look weird but I’d also like to add some North america in some neighborhooda
Awesome! I have never built in a russian style before, but that would be interesting. As long as you don't build the american neighborhood too close, it shouldn't look weird.
Sorry to let you down, but I wasn't really passionate about building this city, so I haven't made much progress. Unfortunately I am not working on this city at the moment, but maybe sometime in the future I will pick this project back up again :(
@@whyjan-tv ohh mate thats okay. It can be challenging to have the motivation to keep building a city. Just take your time and one day. You might fancy building it again. But no stress dude. Keep up what you enjoy 👍

This footage in the background is pretty sick, I really like these buildings. Did you by any chance get any inspiration from Miami or Orlando?

@@smashmonster6929 yeah, it does look like it was inspired by those cities, but thats my friends server, so not built by me...

I can tell you’re from the nice areas of Europe by your definition of a realistic city
I actually am, but I also like to travel a lot. Heads up to you for noticing!

I exported the map directly out of worldpainter and then drew over it with Paint3D 😂

You should build a city with mods!!!
Maybe at some point, but at the moment I enjoy building it in vanilla 😃
Im hoping that my city project will go on for a while
I am sure it will! Btw. it is more fun with friends 😄
Where could I download the first custom island map you show on the video?
I actually made that myself, but as I said, it unfortunately got deleted. Sorry.
