A good tip is to have fun, don’t worry if there isn’t perfection or it doesn’t meet the standards of other cities. It is your project, that represents your character and ideals. You can always go back and change later on
Hello everyone, I want to apologize for not posting anything in a while. My life has been fairly busy these last couple of months, and these next few videos are taking a while to make. But I hopefully should be posting regularly again soon. I hope you enjoyed the video! Edit*: Thanks everyone for hitting 200 Subscribers! Also Alpine very recently made another great tutorial about how to make a city, check it out here: ruclips.net/video/t3iuxqg6QE0/видео.html
No worries! Im glad you are still posting. I love your videos and can't imagine how much time and effort you put into your builds. Keep building and I wish you the best.
I’m on Bedrock Edition, so it’s going to be a lot harder for me to build the city I’m working on. It can be hard to stay motivated, but this is definitely going to help!
I already watched this vid maybe 7 times and I noticed just now that it had 399 likes so I smashed it to make it 400. Really like the quality of this channel!
The City I'm trying to make is level 11 from the Backrooms which is meant to represent a city that's infinite in size of course I'm not planning on making it actually infinite but I want to make it to where you leave from entering certain buildings to go to other levels (because the city is just part of the map)
Building tip: When you build skyscrapers you should slowly transition to apartaments then flats and then residence, which includes houses, schools, hospitals etc. The economy of the districts should also be taken into account to like you don't want to build expensive skyscrapers to less developed ones. Consider also like the rest of the economy such as the nation's economy. Try to break up the grid of your city, as it needs to be organic and if we take a look at Brooklyn in New York it looks exactly like this. Your streets needs to have curbs. Consider also adding a industrial district with factories such as oil rafineries, power plants etc.
I vary the widths of the lanes of my streets. I have some that are 4 or 5 blocks wide which is what I have most of them but for highways I will do 7 blocks wide usually. And my sidewalks I usually have way wider. I will sometimes have like 2 or 3 block wide in the suburbs but like 5-12 in urban areas, especially if I have outdoor dining and trees.
This video helped out so much for me!! Just one quick question: did you use world painter for your map? I’m not good at worldpainter and I love how your map is layer out so i was just wondering that’s all!
I didn't, I only used world edit. Although I would probably recommend using something like world painter or voxelsniper as it can be difficult to create organic shapes like hills and terrain with worldedit.
Some advise you missed: The central business district should be the center of your city. If you want your city to be realistic, have an industrial area surrounding it followed by places for the workers to live. After that, its usually 99% suburbs. This is where half of the city will live
It would take a lot of effort but it is possible. I built this city by all by myself, so having friends to help build can speed the process up quite a bit. I would encourage you to try anyway, even if you don't finish it can still be a lot of fun!
Hey I m a french urbanist architect big fan of Chicago. I can see how amazing your city are and very inspired from this beautiful city of chicago I have also a big project call Rivaro whish is a chicago like scale 1:2 but the livable scale of minecraft. Your "Shmar City" map would be more realistic if all the buildings were uniquely furnished, Take a look at a map called "Greenfield City", and 99% of it's buildings are uniquely furnished, You could make your city even better than that by furnishing all the buildings!
This channel is a hidden gem

Sounds nice!
I mostly build castles and such but I'm always fascinated with building modern buildings.
Then build modern castles!

U ARE AN EXPERT BRO
i build a server with a city as the spawn because its supposed to be our version of the real world and often we make our own builds

This is definitely better than the Alpine video. Love your city and how you made it walkable and bike-friendly. Thank you.
Thanks, I appreciate your kindness!
How
How, Alpine is an actual Architectural Engineer. His cities are dope, and makes it easy to walk around in
@@Miata_Media HomieTrain's city is solo built, and his video footage is a lot better.
@@bloxiebuilder4329 as an architect myself, his buildings need a refresh. Some of them are just too flat, he needs depth in his builds
I’m gonna try to build LA I’m on bedrock so I might install some mods to help me

By the way you could use cubic chunks to make your buildings taller or make mountains! Edit: 291th subscriber
Thanks! I could have, but I want this map to be playable in vanilla.
Good texture pack for bedrock? I’m on 1.21.22
It looks like Canada 😊
awesome
Do not keep airports too far away from your downtown
im making a large city with no mods, addons, and no player like help, just me.
When this city will be on bedrocks edition?
I have it planned although I haven't started it yet. It will probably be out within the next few months.
Is there a world download for your world
Yes, you can get it here: www.planetminecraft.com/project/shmar-realistic-city-v1-0/
