Stunning Chrissie, so powerful, thanks, and thanks for posting this great video.

That’s the way to do a cover. Make it your own, but keep some of the original’s integrity.

I saw them open the show at Radio City Music Hall in NYC in the Spring of 1987 with this song....blew the roof off the place. And having seen them in person at Live Aid in Philadelphia in 1985, they were the best band that day in the US.

I taped this track off German TV in the mid 80s and watched it over and over again. I remember my mum came in one day during the end of the track when Chrissie is on the floor shouting, and my mum said, "Is she sick". My parents just didn't get rock 'n' roll. LOL

Players note: We had no sense of SM while we were recording this. It was a jam in a studio in Sweden if I remember. I can see the similarities but I can assure you that SM were not in the forefront. Great version tho'. Enjoy

this is a Jimi Hendrix cover . since Hendrix's estate has pulled most of hendrix's studio recordings off youtube we don't get much good hendrix recordings although he was great live some times like maui and woodstock the live link is far from the original recording but i'll give the link anyway. also live recording technology was not that good in the early days of classic rock. ruclips.net/video/5cJakuuzhi8/видео.html

    • @JohnDoe-wo1jd

sure friend. lead guitar. James "honeyman" Scott.
he was already dead two years before this video here. the first album honeyman really shows his diversity in various guitar styles and he was only about 23 years old. he also co wrote songs with Chrissie Hynde "the singer and leader" of the band the pretenders. imho, the pretenders first album was their best to this day.
you got to remember starting around 1978 to
the late 1980's, long lead guitar solos were out of style. and so was complex drumming solos. but if allowed could probably play a long lead with the best. He died after the first two Pretenders albums.
quote "....Two days after the dismissal of Pete Farndon[bass player first two albums. he died shortly after too], Honeyman-Scott was found dead in a girlfriend's apartment of heart failure caused by cocaine intolerance.[5]He was 25 years old, and was interred in the churchyard at St Peter's Church, Lyde, Herefordshire.[citation needed]...."
