I've watched that state abbreviations set a few times. For me it's the tightest delivery, most hilarious and imaginative package of comedy I've ever seen. I love his work. Thank you for this explication.

"How Dottie is this" is the moment I knew I had to watch and listen to everything Gary Gulman did.
Never thought about it as a song... I rarely rewatch a stand up set, especially one on a late night TV show. But I have rewatched quite a bit of his.
How have I never heard of this guy? That bit was too good. Gonna binge me some Gary.
He has a number of specials on Amazon Prime. He is so good. One of the best out there.

This was a great idea. I have been watching Gary live since the mid 1990's in Boston and just saw him about 6 months ago in Denver. I adore Gary and his amazing comedy style, easily on of the best in the business.

i've started assisting at a club where the open stage nights are magical. a month or so ago, i told the story about me and my xWife watching Pavarotti singing Nessun Dorma at the Olympics, and people seemed to like it.
comedians have a special place in my heart, and one of the first "records" i ever owned (maybe the first) was a Steve Martin comedy album. When Robin Williams passed, it felt like a physically palpable rainbow comet of darkness hit me with a thud.
i've done one "comedy set" in my whole life wayyyyy back in 1990. otherwise it's been music or acting or conducting...
but i "tried" this joke out on someone yesterday: "The early bird gets the worm, and late birds get worms later," and the guy did chuckle.
So, inspired here by this video, I think maybe I'll actually put together a 5-minute set and try it out sometime. Thank you for the inspiration.

My SO and I go to sleep listening to a stand up Playlist I made on Spotify. Rest assured all of Gulmans albums are in it and we love him. The abbreviations of states is hands down one of the best bits in comedy history.

Gary is a national treasure. I saw him live a few years ago. After the show people lined up to have their picture taken with him. I don't roll like that, but I did throw my arms around him and said, "Gary, I love you!" And do you know what he said to me? "I love you, too!"

Where to begin? First of all, J.P. Buck I love the idea of doing these types of videos and will be checking out more as they become available. As far as Gary Gulman, he is a true artist with words. His comedy requires is some of the most creative that I've come across. He can turn even the most esoteric of ideas into a killer bit. I'm glad he is finally getting some of the recognition that is long overdue...and he deserves plenty more. And notice how much Gary is concentrating as he watches the set. You can tell he's analyzing it and seeing things and self-critiquing it in ways that others would never notice.

That standup routine was legendary. Greg Giraldo was (RIP) great as a “dirty comedian”, and Gary Gulman is great as a “clean comedian”. Keep it up.
Dear Gary, your insecurities, for whatever reason they may exist, have to be reversed into knowing that you created some of the most timeless absolute tightest comedy ever. there is not other kind of stand up, one can watch over and over again. you've created Fabergé-eggs of comedy.
