My wife and I also lived in our Alaknak while saving for a house here in Michigan. I miss it but she doesn't want to do it again. Good luck don't rush the experience those cold nights are worth it when you get to wake up in nature and you know what time it is by the sounds of the bugs and birds. and get to relax in a way that is hard to do when you live in a house. Like the song says your gonna miss this.
Just a guess here, but I don't think this is what they had in mind when they developed this tent! But thanks for the video. Shows me what this tent CAN do
AMAZING! This is how I want to live! I love your cooking areas, the toilet & shower areas, the way you zoomed in on the rose, your deck, your super organized kitchen, the table's beautiful, the fabric you chose to enclose your "cabinets" and for throw pillows, your REAL bed, your shelving, all those lovely hanging pockets, and Inish was just ruling the roost, wasn't he?
I highly recommend getting either the Ecco temp or camp chef instant hot water heater, hooking up a battery and 40psi pump, a solar panel, y connector to your propane tank and you will have steaming hot showers with excellent pressure and can pump it out of a bucket or a water tank. If you are set up this solid why go low tech on your shower? In fact the battery and panel set up could probably power or charge a great many items.
Wow! Beautiful! I'll just move right in 🙂 A BIG slice of heaven you had there. Also, LOVE your camping kitty! He looks mellow as hell! lol who wouldn't be out there. Thanks for sharing
That sure is a lot of hard work and money just to get the solid wood leveled foundation built for the main tent! Dont know your whole story concerning this setup, but all the groundwork you put in beforehand was both very smart and looks well done. Wait, why am I writing you? There is no internet service out there!!
I'm just curious...it's been a year. Are you still in the tent? How is the debt situation? You guys really are an inspiration, and watching your video and reading your blog, has given me some interesting ideas for reducing my own medical debt as well!
No tent stove ? and how do you keep the floor so clean with all that stuff in there ? love to see how you keep warm and cool .... and how many trips with a uhall did you do to get that stuff in there ?
I have moved and am now in northwestern Alaska preparing to renovate a 20 foot shipping container into a studio apartment. Come check out my blog: www.arcticpoodle.wordpress.com!!!
Wow ! Very Nice ! ..it'So Big ! I Like It ! .👍 You Have a large Counter in Your kitchen ! Thank You To Show Us ! .From Downtown Montreal ⚜️🇨🇦 👋👋👋🤗🤩🥰💞💞💞 ..
How fid you get the poles to balance on that deck? There are rings that insert into the bottom of the side poles so im having trouble figuring out how to get them stable on my deck.
We started with a tent and are now going back to one. Thanks for the film we're ditching our pop-up in favor of an Alaknak. We could actually park our pop-up in that tent.
wow what a great place you have. do you half to cover a tent with a heavy duty tarp.when I bought mine I was told to make sure you protect it from the sun.thanks so much for posting.
The best part of camping off grid jungle is at night. You cook eat with your love one, and sleep. Before sleep you will hear jungle nature lullaby. Secured and healing by nature.
Now that its January how is the tent living going for you. I ask because I am seriously considering the same. Doesn't get as cold here in the south as it does up there so I believe this is at least a feezable idea.

It's been so long since this has been posted I won't be bummed if I don't get a response, but I have to ask. How to you keep bears, wolves, mountain lions and the like away with all that food out in the open in your main tent?
everything looked pretty cool till i saw the cat. every cat produces 1 metric ton of cat hair daily to spread around their domain. they also sharpen their claws 20 times daily always on a different piece of furniture. . besides a lge catippar dozer nothing else can do as much damage as 1 cat.
YOU COULD BUY A 5 ACRE LOT,AND LIVE LIKE THIS,AND SAVE..$$$$$$$YOU CAN MOVE RIGHT ON SOME LOT'S SOON AS YOU START MAKING PAYMENT'S.DO YOU EVER GO CAMPING..?? WHERE'S THE CAMP.

Well thought out . A woman’s touch for sure. Love it

So jealous... Listening to the amazing sounds of nature all around, with all the comforts of home...
Wildlife has never been a problem... only a pleasure.
this is paradise especially in 2022.

Wow! Beautiful! I'll just move right in 🙂 A BIG slice of heaven you had there. Also, LOVE your camping kitty! He looks mellow as hell! lol who wouldn't be out there. Thanks for sharing
O yeah, one more question. Has anyone ever stolen anything or just let themselves in and stayed awhile?
Glad you like our palace!

Every time I look at this tent movie, i am in awh!!! Very beautiful, organized and comfortable. Wow!!!@
Fantastic setup Stefanie.
This is a home not a tent.
Agreed. This is a home I admire. 🏕️🏡
I love these big tents
Very nice! And it sure beats paying rent. You should have gotten a tent stove. I can only imagine how cold that gets in the winter. cute cat too. :)
Awesome....love the cat too.
I went to the website and read up on your story. Good luck to you both !
Way out front!. Nice Kittycat, I have an Idaho woodstove for mine, warming up next to the fire make's all the difference.
Awesome. How do you do laundry and what is the water supply and where is the general location? Didn't notice any heat source. But yeah, this is great!
He didn't answer where this was but I'm guessing it wasn't Pennsylvania .

I'm just curious...it's been a year. Are you still in the tent? How is the debt situation? You guys really are an inspiration, and watching your video and reading your blog, has given me some interesting ideas for reducing my own medical debt as well!
I would move the bathroom closer to or inside the tent in case there is bad weather. Stay safe and thanks for sharing your video!

How big is this i love it
Holy moly that is super cool. Do you live in that tent all year round or do you just camp in the summer.

nice. im guessing you dont live in a northern climate since i dont see a wood burning stove. I think living like that would be awsome.
wheelori814 This set up was in Central Maine .... we had yet to set up the wood stove when the video was take. :)

Que triste q piense así yo tengo cuatro hijos gatunos y los amo 💕💕💕.
That cat looks piss'd... maybe it's because he wants to kill that annoying bug that's making all that freaking noise.
Are these Outwell tents? Because I know that company makes live-in compartment tents big enough to live in for longer periods.
What I want to know: how it is possible to transpotr all this together...?

I suggest you watch the movie Into the Wild :) It's a masterpiece that really changes your perspective on the world we live in!
So what happened? I went to the website but didn't see any updates. How do you/did you heat the place?
Where is this at ?
This appears to be the 13' x 27'.
that is fucking amazing, do you take firearms and if so what are they
Travel trailers cost thousands of dollars!
Do you do anything special to keep the wild animals away from your food? I know they smell it and will stop at nothing to get to it. :-(
Sally Perkins a shotgun
An electric fence isn’t that expensive.....less dangerous
your camp look good perhaps are you wanted list ?? than why staying in remote jungle ? instead of township
it would be freaken AWESOME to live in the bush
do you own the property?.
Over the top for camping.
👍
Rocks!
It would be more pleasant to watch the video if you kept the Mic away from the sound of the zippers. Dang!
off the grid and loving it, fuckin A mam and sir, fuckin A
No...it was borrowed property from our family.
only a woman would have that many clothes and 25 towels and be living in a tent. would have twice the room with half the stuff.
Me 2

At least some audio/narration would be nice. I stopped it at 03:58 when I realized it was so.
