- This night was incredible. the tent is awesome. It's inflatable, and it's huge, and it's easy to set up, and it's fun. This is my very first time opening this tent, and as you will see, it's very convenient to use. My girlfriend stops by for some chicken stew and she brings a surprise.

Just had one of those light bulb moments. The manufacturers of tents like that which have to be folded correctly in order to fit back in the bag should mark the tents in such a way that you line up the marks to get the correct proportions. For instance the first fold you made: the front and rear left corners should be marked with a number one. The point to which those corners should be folded over should be marked with a dotted line that goes front to rear and is also marked with the number one. The next fold would be marked and have the number two where you are to match parts up, etc.
If folded the same way each time, the waterproofing will degrade and crack
Man, good thinking!
Build it and they will come!
Mark it with a marks alot
U should definitely get paid for the idea because all the years they've been making tents they never thought of that.....f n genius 💯
Yes to the tent, YES to the cooking and yes to your puppy . Yes to getting updated bear spray. Thank you
What a cutie pup!! Small tip for using the cleaver. Instead of using the up and down motion, use a rocking motion when cutting veggies especially. Uses more of the edge, gets a cleaner cut as well. I'd recommend watching a few chef channels and see how they do it. The stew looked ight tasty, too.
Good tips!
JAY !! Both Puffy and wilderness cooking are two things I eagerly await in your future videos ! That little guy looks like an amazing little buddy to bring along !!!! Great video and Welcome Puffy !!!!!!
Yes!!!! I always enjoy the cooking on these outdoor shows. Most people think of camping with a crappy tent, an old sleeping bag, and hot dogs. I always enjoy watching how you and others make Great Food, have a Comfortable “tent”, but also just enjoying being out in nature!
I love your new "home 'n a bag". Thanks for introducing Puffy. He's going to be a great companion to you and add so much more to your life. Great idea for doing cooking shows too. I look forward to more vids from you with Puffy and Crystal. Thanks again. ❤🎉
YEAH! Family campouts are the BEST. We used to do it quite often. Mom, Dad, Older son, Younger son, a Male German shepherd, a Gordon Setter (Black), a Female Maine Angora cat, and a Male Siamese cat. They all loved the camping out adventures.👍🙂
Just a thought...quickly take the ground where you are placing the tent
Your dog is awesome Jay, he will become your best companion ever !! I couldn't live without my dog, he is such a big part of our family. That tentvis wicked too, now i want one 😅. And a cooking segment? Absolutely yes !!!! Great news.
Keep everyone safe out there in the bush brother 🙏
Thanks for the comment Famasmaster. I am definitely looking forward to growing with Puffy. He's a good boy so far.
I'm a dog lover big time so I'm super excited to see Puffy make his big debut. I'm also a foodie so I love the idea of just good wholesome food being cooked on the wood stove in the bush. My parents would often take us out in the bush in the middle of the winter and make a jigs dinner with a hot cup of tea. You are speaking to my heart Jay, keep it up...your #1 fan 😊
Congratulations on your new addition. Puffy is so darn cute. Dogs make the best companions. Would love to see more of Puffy. And Crystal too!
I have wall tent hunted in northern BC on a friends trap line for years. His hunting
/trapping dog was a standard poodle that did amazingly well even in the -40s running along beside the sled. As for gun, handgun is a no go up here. I wouldn’t use one anyway as it’s single purpose. Been teaching firearms for decades, and would recommend a semi auto 12 gauge shotgun. Pump is ok, but I have been charged by a black bear that I had to shoot, and EVERYBODY forgets to pump after the first shot in that situation. I did, and got lucky the first shot got it done. Buddy I was hunting with had a bear tag, so got to process and eat it too. Was amazing. I have shot many ptarmigan in Nunavut wi 12guage birdshot and lots of grouse further south. Just practice and aim a tad high so you miss the breast. Hopefully you don’t run into a ‘sleuth’ of bears!
That's a beautiful tent, cute dog, nice cooking, and a guest appearance by Crystal. Nice video.
Yes definitely Jay, please do a cooking video now and then on your channel! Would love it for sure!❤ Maybe some of your viewers could send you a recipe that they have tried on a wood stove too and you could try theirs out! Love your new puppy and of course Crystal! ❤
Neat to see the inflatable frame on a canvas tent! I watch a Turkish couple who has several varieties of inflatable tents that are plastic and have plastic window covers, too. Amazing how inventive they are! If cooking is your passion, please share it, too! I had a standard poodle when I was a kid. She loved hunting and was one of the smartest dogs I owned. Looking forward to seeing more of Puffy running free!
I was the Turkish couple also lol. They always make their tent so homey . I'd love a tent like that.
Yes, we watch the turkish couple too. Those folks are crazy!! 🥰🥰 They thrive on "bad" weather..... 🤣🤣. 👃✌️🇨🇦. I've always winsered about expired bear spray....... 😮. Thanks for this review!! 👍👍
I like the tent, nice and roomy. Lots of windows for air to circulate. Love the poodle, I used to have a miniature chocolate one. Great tent for when the bugs are bad.
The best part about watching any camping videos is the cooking anyway.I love seeing what's cooking while living in the woods or just boondocking.
So cozy!!!
Love the dog!!
Bear spray expired made me laugh
Yes to a cooking channel, that would be great!!
Would definitely watch cooking videos and looking forward to seeing more of Puffy. Enjoyed it Jay, always peaceful and entertaining.
Another plus for this tent is it casts a beautiful yellow glow inside. Making for a lovely ambience.
Yes, yes, yes to all the questions you asked about your channel! Love it when your girlfriend and your daughter are with you too!
Very nice video Jay , I think that the tent is pretty cool. Yes I would like to see your outdoor cooking , don't forget to bring Crystal and Puffy along too! Maybe Crystal can be there for your cooking videos and give us her honest opinion? Like a keep it if it is good and heap it if not so good , LOL ... Thanks for taking us along and of course thumbs UP !! 👍 I am looking forward to your next video.
Love the tent. Only drawback for me is that they should have made the side walls at least 2 feet higher like other air tent manufacturers
Dutch Oven. Absolute classic. One of the first things my wife and I purchased 11 years ago when we got married. Still use it to this day..
Thanks for another great video Jay!!
Love this comment
If it’s a good one and you take care of it it’ll last the rest of your life.
Two thumbs 👍👍 on the cooking segment. I think it would work 👍
A guard Poodle! His is really cute! 👍. And Crystal is really cute too ! 👍
She is indeed!
My mine reason for watching this video right to the end.... was to see if Jay could get the tent to fit back into its' bag !!! lol
Hahah! I pulled it off.
Puffy is perfect, just needs complete unconditional love and he will turn out to be the best pup ever.
100% I would watch your cooking channel. That's the reason I watch your channel. I love to watch you cook.
Puffy is sooo cute!!! Lots of training means training people to think like a dog 🐶 😊 once you understand how the dog thinks you got this!! He’s a keeper for sure!
Great video Jay! Well done! What an awesome tent man! Easy setup and take down. Now that was an awesome chicken stew/soup. And Puffy is going to make an awesome companion for your excursions! Great to see Crystal!
Thanks so much, Caminantigonish.
You should bring Puffy all the time with you when you go camping. He is an adorable addition to your channel. ❤
All good additions.....Pup, Crystal, cooking...
What an adorable puppy love to see him on the channel. That tent is awesome thanks for showing it to us.🙂🇨🇦🐕👍👍👍👍👍
Loved the tent, the puppy, the cooking idea… everything!!! Great video, as always, from someone who has never and will never camp! 😊
After researching and also watching your videos we bought an inflatable tent. Love it so far!
Loved the tent ✔️ Loved the idea of cooking outdoors on a stove ✔️ ✔️ Loved Puffy ✔️ ✔️ ✔️ - bring it on Jay!👍👍👍👍👍
Awww, Puffy is such a great addition to your family. He is so stinkin' cute. It was great seeing Crystal again, as always. An all around great video once again, Jay. I would love to watch videos of your cooking, and think a cooking channel is a great idea. I would watch you cooking even if you included them on this channel, too.
Hey Jay great video and great to see Crystal and puffy so cute that children stew looks delicious thanks for a fantastic video 👍 👏
Children stew??😂😂😂
Haha
😮😳 Oh my! Children stew! 🤣. Typos can make for some fun sentences! LOL
No children were harmed in the making of this stew 😂
Puffy is adorable. He is going to be a great asset to the channel. I am biased as I am a dog person - all kinds of dogs. Seems like your mind is in overdrive. Loved that tent with all those windows and tons of room. I absolutely would watch an outdoor cooking show. Go for it.
Welcome Puffy!!!! Can't wait to see him grow into an outdoor dog! And yes, I would love to see cooking videos!!!! The cooking part of your videos are my favorite. I love seeing what is possible when camping.
Enjoyed this video! Yes, I'd like to see more of your cute puppy and videos of outdoor cooking. Don't forget to get a new can of bear spray! Looking forward to your next video. Glad to see Crystal there with you.
Thanks for a great video! Puffy looks like a great addition to your family. As always great to see Crystal!!
You know, you could live in a thing like that. Maybe it would fall apart in a few years but you could build a pallet foundation, add a floor inside, maybe some cheap Luan underlayment. you could really live there if you found yourself in a homeless condition. The pallets would keep your floor flat and high up to allow ventilation and good storm drainage below. If you were under some big trees, to shelter from above, you could be quite comfortable in quick time. Hurricanes and fires have a way of changing the future unexpectedly sometimes. You could put a RV potty and shower in that thing. There's no limits except what you can't think of. It could happen to anybody. Good night Puffy!
Take the time to find out who is the most knowledgeable gun guy at the gun shop. My son is that guy in a very reputable shop in our area.
That guy can not only help you purchase the gun you need, he will also be able to tell you if the ammo required is available/expensive.
You can holster any weapon to be readily available as well as carrying bear spray. Having both methods of protection can't hurt.
Knowledge is powerful. Find that guy. If he's really good he's a smith too.
Love that tent...it's a keeper!
The girlfriend is too!! 😊❤
Loving everything going on in this video. You have a calming nature about you that translates well through this medium. I'm along for the ride and thoroughly enjoying the content!
You were talking about not having a broom to sweep the tent. Jay, you are surrounded by spruce bows and one good size bow makes a pretty good broom in a pinch. Your dog is cute...just like Boomer on Lonewolf. I would love a cooking show but I don't want to gain any more weight.
Man! Why didn't I think of that broom idea. Doh! Always nice to hear from you Mike
LOVE THE CAMPING AND COOKING!
Poodles are the best dogs, excellent choice. They're so smart and want to please and be a part of the pack. I've had many breeds, medium to large, and I always come back to poodles. My miniature poodle was an amazing outdoor adventure dog. They're definitely hard working hunting dogs and do fantastic in rough and tumble conditions! Poodles excel at a lot of sports. Minis are a great size for camping and hiking. I love big dogs (including large standard poodles) and the mini poodle is the only small dog I've ever had, but I learned a smaller dog definitely has its advantages. They're big enough to keep up on the trail (and they will go and go and go), but small enough to fit in smaller tents or be carried if necessary. They also live longer than big dogs. I don't know if I'm going to go with a large mini ("moyen") or a standard poodle next time.
Awesome video Jay ! That tent looks amazing and I love Puffy . He’s so adorable. Loved every minute of this video . Made me miss the north . BTW like the cooking show idea . 👏❤
Hi jay, really pleased you've got a dog, I've a 3 year old english bull terrier called stan and he's my best friend. Love to see puffy in the vids but worry about your extreme winters in canada. Love the idea of a few cooking vids as you cook in most anyway.
I can't believe that Jay has 54 thousand subscribers but only 2 Thousand likes!! Come on folks take one second and hit the like button!! It takes one finger stroke!!! I love his videos and he deserves to be recognized by Utube!! 👍😛
As for bear protection, a revolver on your hip, .454 Causil, or at least .44 Mag. It gives you the quick access of the spray, and won't miss or even hit you if the wind is wrong. And yes, wind can make the spray miss and/or some of it blow back on you. More doggo.
Hi Jay - thanks for the video. I have been using the UP-2 tent for a couple of years know - great tent. I have been considering getting one of their bigger tents and inspired by your video I reiterated on earlier research. Including some of your videos. Based on that, today I ordered the UP-5 tent. Thanks for the inspiration and for the discount code. Br, Claus
Absolutely loved everything about this video ❣️❣️❣️ Puffy is adorable and I think he will make a wonderful addition for future videos 😊 “Camp Cooking With Jay” sounds amazing and of course more of Crystal too. Was amazing watching you take through the setup and take down of your new tent. I’ve seen a few other videos with similar tents but this one by far has my interest. Extremely easy and sturdy. Thanks for sharing your experience with us and I look forward to more experiences.
Yes to the additional cooking channel! But still cook when you’re camping too.
I love these tents, started with a 3M and moved up to the 5M. It’s just the wife and I, but could easily sleep four adults with plenty room.
I love all your content, Jay. If you want to make cooking videos, go right ahead, I like those as well. Congrats on the pup and keep up the great work. Take care and Cheers!
12 gauge pump or auto shooting slugs best bet or good old 45-70.
Great video I to was interested in seeing you get that tent back in the bag.
Thanks for the suggestion!
I have an 8 month old standard poodle, they are incredible dogs he will keep you company for sure and they are great hunters, originally for water birds this the funny haircuts. You will love having him with you
poodles are s retriever type dog, water dogs. They do well with training in fact they do very well in both obedience and agility rings at dog shows. The reason they have the haircuts was originally to keep the joints warm as they were originally used for duck hunting.
The chicken stew looked DELICIOUS!!! More Puffy!!!
It was a very good stew!
So pleased to meet your Puffy! And anytime you want to show me how to make a great meal.... Count me in! 🙂
Yes 👍🙌 yes ❤❤❤❤❤ lots more PUFFY. My dog is a 14 pound Chihuahua mix,, and 15 years old lady. I know when she goes to Heaven I will get another dog. I've always loved 😍 and had 🐕🐕 dogs my entire life. Hello from Indiana USA and this 62 year old lady. Thanks for sharing this with me 🙏😊😍
Hey Jay
I just watched this video and I am so very happy that you had a pop up tent. I've been searching for one online because I am planning my first winter hot tent camping trip this year. I also think it would be a wonderful idea for your cooking show 💯👍 Thank you for sharing your experiences with us. And teaching newbies like myself with your advantageous ideas and tips. GOD Bless nd Protect You and Your Family Always And Forever 🙏💖

I love your channel! I vote YES for you to do some cooking sessions.....We have a cabin on Pend Oreille Lake in Idaho and I thought about doing a a You Tube channel with some cooking in our rustic outdoor kitchen with the lake as the backdrop but I think I will leave that to the younger crowd🙂
Both would be a great addition to the channel. Crystal is always a welcome sight. Especially splitting wood for you Jay. But just know this your puppy will steal your shows away from you. People fall in love with these dogs. Yes let's bring him on board. Just know we all love them. He will be such great company for you.
For bear protection I have a semiauto 10mm handgun with 15 rounds. For what you described a 12 gauge shotgun is super versatile and always great to have. I love my Mossberg 500 series.
I used to have a miniature silver poodle that grew up with a German Shepard poodles are water dogs and very intelligent they can train themselves they love to snack on fruit eg.watermelon, oranges, carrots of all the dogs that I've had she is the one that still remains in my heart, I rescued her from an abusive owner he'll be a great companion for you, I love the tent, please stay safe and healthy❤
So nice to see your Monday videos mr,!! Hi from Sweden
Dahlstrong knives are great knives. As a chef I appreciate a well made, balanced knife. And their Canadian too.
Yes, we need more Puffy! 🥰
Puffy is adorable…❤🐩🐾
Love the tent too; thanks for sharing…😊
I loved the tent. Looked really cozy. Puffy and cooking , yes plz. Tyfs God bless you
Dang! That is cool tent Mr. Jay! I would be interested in how it fares in the wind....seeing how it is full of air.
As for a firearm, Mossberg would be a solid choice, Either a Model 500 or a Model 590. If you can get a Mossberg 590 Shockwave in Canada it would be good to carry on your backpack while out and about.
Love the puppy! Dogs are awesome Mr. Jay. Keep up the great work on your channel sir!
A cheaper and still decent option is the Mossberg Maverick 88, either in the 18.5" or 20" barrel Security model. They also sell a combo package with the 18.5" barrel (for security) plus a 28" barrel for hunting birds.
The tent is awesome…….so is the dog! Welcome to Crystal would love to see her more! Thank you for sharing all of this….hungry now!
Tent is heavy but spacious luxury. Poppy and Crystal positive vibes. 🏁🏁🏁
Puffy looks JUST LIKE my first dog that my dad bought for my sister and I in October of 1985. My dog was just a bit darker brown than Puffy but roughly the same size and breed. He was a good dog and I'm sure Puffy will be good for you, too. Congrats!
Yes for the cooking episodes! Congrats on your new family member.
It is about time my friend. I always wondered why you didn’t have a dog. Really. An essential part of my life. Now I know, how wonderful for you. And Puffy and Crystal.
Congratulations on your new addition,, yeah Puffy!! Huge dog lover here, as much as you think you are training and teaching them, they are doing the same with you,,, dogs are remarkable pets!
Loved this video! Puffy is adorable and will definitely enjoy his company! I love watching you cook, absolutely incorporate cooking in the channel! I look forward to watching every week, it’s a must!,
Thank you for making this video! I was curious about the cost of the tent, expecting it to be $4000 - $5000 , it's only $1579.00! To some homeless people it would be a castle!
Then the Dalstrong Centurion knife, cost $110.00, but very nice knife, thirdly, I had to look up what a group of ravens is called. A group of Ravens is actually called an "Unkindness" of Ravens! I also like the drone footage. On another channel I watch, Simple Living Alaska, there's the two people Eric and Arrielle, but there's also the chemistry between them. I think we like watching people doing whatever they ENJOY. Would you ever go camping and panning for gold? Camp and then a couple guests arrive for supper? Canoeing down a river, then make a meal?
Go for it Jay!! I always thought your show should have been called Jay's Kamping n' Kookin'!!
Awesome. Thanks for the vote of confidence!
What a wonderful tent!!! Excellent design - love the portability and easy set up! Thanks for sharing a discount code! 👍🏻👍🏻
I would look forward to the outdoor cooking. Puffy is so cute. I enjoy your videos.
Beautiful camp site, tranquil waters ,awesome scenery, the aerial view is amazing, yes you have to protect yourself from the bears,Puffy is a cutie ,thanks for sharing stay safe
Hi, Jay... I think the best firearm to protect yourself from bears would probably be a bazooka! If not that, then maybe a .475 or .500. Some years ago, a friend who was a superb shot used a .375 magnum plus his hand gun on a Grizzly that was running toward him. He emptied both weapons before the bear dropped about 6 feet in front of him. Hard to believe but there were witnesses. Unfortunately with binoculars...not close enough to help. I would also suggest taking a friend. Have fun and be careful!
I’d love to see some videos solely focused on cooking. However, please include the exact ingredients and recipes for all the meals you cook. Thank you and good luck!
Good tip!
mossberg makes some good 12 gauge weapons. Barrels that can be swapped out. SHort barrel for defense, long barrels for hunting (bird, amsll game, etc). ALso shotgun shells, if kept dry, will never expire. 🙂
Cool stuff! I didn't know that about shotgun shells. Thanks
Don't know how I missed this video. Awesome. Tent looked so cozy, love Puffy and Crystal. Cooking episode sounds great too. You always make fun dishes and make everything sound so good with your appreciation for the food. Keep em coming!
That's the same pump I use to air up my inflatable paddleboard. Does a good job.
Jay, best wishes with your desire to have a "Camp Cooking with Jay". Consider an oven. I would love to try one myself. Hello to Crystal and the new puppy. Bake up a mess of Biscuits with Sausage Gravy. Yummm.
Love the potential dog addition. All in for the cooking as well. I love watching that in your current channel. Always good to see Crystal as well. Awesome tent!!! Thanks for sharing Jay!
Sounds like a great idea to cook different dishes that would be good for tent life
Neat tent and an adorable little pup. Miniature Poodle? Toy Poodle? He'll be as obedient as you train him to be. He's so cute!
Looking forward to your cooking episodes!! Puffy is a great looking dog. I hope you have many years of happiness with him!
Yes, for your ideas, Jay! We're really looking forward to them! 🙂
I love cooking shows.
So if you cook outdoors, something like stew or something very outdoorsy, I would love to watch it.
Yes for puffy!! Nice tent...
Love watching wilderness cooking! Kent survival is one of my favorite channels. Good luck with Puffy's training!
