What a spectacular set up...and the decorating...whoah! So impressive. As someone that lives in a 17' yurt and has a wall tent for bathroom, laundry, and kitchen... I feel qualified to say that having an unconventional place that looks gorgeous and is functional is a feat. Bravo!
This is so amazing! I would love to live like this. I am from Dallas and was surprised you were in North Texas. I retired several years ago and now live in Florida. I miss Dallas terribly. Well, congratulations on building a beautiful home and lifestyle.
You're very welcome. I don't know why more people don't do it except for the fact that it's not a good idea to lock the door. But other than that, it's cool.
I've thought of this if we purchase land, sell the older house and just focus on land and greenhouses, but would wrap the tent homes in glass greenhouses, bear country, and warmer for our area, and also put the heating wires under the flooring. But to me this innovative.
I've always wanted this tour, thank you for sharing this with us. I've always wondered how you deal with the heat and cold. We will talk more about that in August. Can't wait to visit with ya'll
Let us know if you guys ever need fresh Safari Tents! Ours are proudly made by South African hands and have been known to stand for 20+ years. We are Master Canvas Crafters ⛺️
Did you build this yourself? If so is it easy enough? Or do they come built already? Where can i get something like this set up? Do they have a company that will build it for you? Thank you! I absolutely love it!!!
OK, maybe I missed it, but how do you secure your home from thieves? Seriously, my husband has been researching wall tents as an alternative temporary housing while we develop on our new property. My concern has been keeping people from just cutting through the tent and taking whatever they want. I do love and mean really love the airy open ideal of the wall tent for I am an outdoors type of gal, but we work hard for what little we do have and guns and dogs don't stop everyone. Please share the secret because I love this ideal. A wall tent nestled amongst our pine and cedar forest would be so comfy and cute(at least in my head it would be). Beautiful home, by the way.
I've been really fascinated with this kinda stuff and living laity. Is it possible for cold weather? Like mountain area of east cost where snow fall is a serious thing in the winter.
Yes, make sure it has vents for the fireplace. You can even take the pink foam insulation, cover and make panels to cover the walls on the outside too. Just insert natural heavy duty magnets in various areas to attach from the inside. In the summer put up a 90% shade cloth over to reduce the heat. Some how attach flag poles at the 4 corners of the roof, sticking up and out, hook the shade cloth to that. It's getting so bad in areas, I don't see why cities are doing this across building to make shade. Many gardens need it now and play areas for kids can have a 30-40% shade over their area. It comes 30% to 90%, this is how it's used now. **Shade cloth, also known as shade fabric, comes in different densities, or percentages, that indicate how much sunlight the cloth blocks: 30-50% Often used in gardens and greenhouses to protect seedlings, vegetables, fruits, and shade-loving plants. 30% shade cloth can also be used for pond netting and to keep leaves out of swimming pools. 40% Can help prevent vegetables from burning and is good for bedding plants and lilies. 50% White 50% shade cloth can be used for backyard shade cooling, while black 50% can be used as a paintball barrier or to protect ficus from heat. 75% and higher Used to protect people, plants, or animals from intense sun, such as on patios. ** I'd love to see it run across smaller neighborhood streets, not just say downtown businesses. too
OK, I can order this but I need someone to set it up. I am in Mississippi , plus we have Mestizos BAD. But, I will move anywhere now. Oh my heart sunk when I saw your lovely home. Can , someone visit? Like an AirB&B ? Thank you for sharing !
Pretty amazing. How do you keep the pipes in the outdoor shower from freezing in the winter? I live outside of Fort Worth and we do get some cold spells that could freeze those exposed pipes. I'd like to have an outdoor shower in my next house.
Truly awesome set-up! My biggest concern if I did this would be high wind storms, tornado or straight line winds even deep snow load. Have you ever experienced bad weather like that in there?
omg, inspired . thnx. id consider this as looking at moduules but a safari tent around the pond more my style really.. how did you hook up all the electrical sockets etc m8? it puzzles me

Where are you at that allows you to live full time in your tent? Its illegal here in Iowa :( I love the idea of having a decent size wall tent and a solar powered utility trailer for my tools so I could just travel, work odd jobs and be able to setup a decent home where ever I may end up for that time.
Though that amazing to know how you're living in tents. When I was watching, I was wondering how vulnerable your tent is to weather. Is there no stormy weather? If it would have been here (Assam, India), it wouldn't stand through April of any year. Love from Assam.
I’m from Zimbabwe, as soon as you showed your first tent, I thought, this looks like a safari lodge. Awesome, you’ve created your own lodge.

They came from Kenya. So I guess that makes sense.

Can you tell us where you purchased the guest tent?
How often do these tents have to be replaced, or repaired?
Wow! That is amazing! Do you live there all year long? How did you come up with the plan for these tents? TFS! Really interesting!
Yep, all year long. The greatest tentmaker in the world helped us with the plans. It's a common type safari camp.

İs it water proof, snow or heat resistant?? What are the differences or changes if we want to use it as home??

I don't think I've seen anything quite like this. Very cool. North Texas...so you don't have to worry about hurricanes, which is good.
Just an occasional tornado, but don't we all
Beautiful home. Kudos for being able to pull that off living here in Texas with the heat and mesquitos!
We have A/C units in each tent. On some days they barely do the job, but usually, it works out nicely.
