Most under rated of all his great songs. No mater how many venues I saw and heard him sing this, the energy always went through the roof. Thank you for decades of incredible music David. R.I.P.
Under rated? It's probably on every Bowie compilation, most tours when he did greatest hits, and it's about one of the six of his songs they play on the radio. Not to say it's not a great ditty.
OMG 06-06-1990! He died at 69. Space Oddity 1969. He's now the Starman. Love you David Bowie. Regret number one: I never saw you perform. I will when I die.
Great Artists supporting David ... Its been great covering his songs as Space Boy on YT ... sometimes its OK ... then my performance goes completely pants ... sorry David.
if this guys career started today and this was his first song he would be a massive hit, that's how good this song is. Nobody even comes close to this today.
That woman dancer is Louise Lecavalier, from the French Canadian company called La La La Human Steps... and she was really amazing if you ever saw her in pieces which were centered around her.
I saw Bowie with Adrian Belew the VERY NEXT NIGHT in Houston!!! Watched this awards show and it blew me away I was gonna actually see him the VERY next day!
I was at this concert. It was at the Erwin Center in Austin. He had said that this tour would be the last time he sang his old songs in concert. Great show.
This is my favourite version of this classic. The recorded version is a bit sluggish compared to how it was played live. But that's Bowie's fast working ethic. He's putting the right amount of energy into this and it Rocks.
Great Artists supporting David ... Its been great covering his songs as Space Boy on YT ... sometimes its OK ... then my performance goes completely pants ... sorry David.
+Terry Houton He toured with Tin Machine in 1989, did this Sound and Vision greatest hits tour solo in 1990 and toured again with Tin Machine in 1991. He was a busy boy
It's sped up to much, and it's missing the brass section which for me makes the whole song. I still like it, but it's just not as good as the original.
Hell naw, man, BOTH of them were coked up to the fucking gills, neither of them cared a shit about what was going on around them, and Sam Kinnison did a nasty little joke about AIDS and then introduced Elton John, who called him a disgusting pig of a person, or something to the effect. Half was bleeped out. But I remember THIS awards show like none other in my life.
that little dance he does right at the start excites me so much, makes me so happy for some reason!!! god i love him... and how i miss him...
+Catalina Lindegaard same!!!
+Catalina Lindegaard I agree so much !!
He's got moves all right!

Not to say it's not a great ditty.
yes, underrated even by himself; in my opinion, Suffragette City remains his ultimate hard-rocker, even better than Rebel Rebel or Jean Genie
@@lextual a live
@@lextual - Totallity... it's one to the hits of Ziggy's era!
This is my absolute favorite song of his. He will be missed
+chris green Philly Suffragette City, Rebel Rebel, and What in The World - an obscure song from the Stage album are my favorites.
Diamond Dogs, Width of a Circle, and She Shook Me Cold!!!!

As time goes by I miss him more and more!!
He's back on suffragette city now. He will be missed. See you later, Ziggy.
He looked so dapper here, great song
if this guys career started today and this was his first song he would be a massive hit, that's how good this song is. Nobody even comes close to this today.
SUCH a great headbanger. My favorite. RIP.

Quote from Commander Chris Hadfield "Ashes to ashes, dust to stardust. Your brilliance inspired us all. Goodbye Starman"
Fashion guy...grande rock...love Bowie forever

Another cracking performance of one of the worlds top ten pop songs !
The dancers weren't needed but then again it's Bowie.
David Bowie, what would we do without you.
RIP David, rock the Heavens
R.I.P. you're a genius rock'n'roller!
This. This made my day! Thank you!
Beyond time and space 72' 90' 02' 10' and beyond - Real Rock and Roll .....Roll........Roll.........Rollll..................

My favorite Bowie song.
my fav song ever
La La La Human Steps! I'd totally forgotten that he'd picked them up for his shows.
The best performance yes
Awesome voice
my favorite of his..
It's outta site! It's alright! November 8, 2016. He dances like I do at the beginning!
It's from the LOS ANGELES concert (23th may) at the Sport Arena !!
OMG, I was there!! Awesome!
BOWIE!!!! What can you say? the voice, dances better than Mick, the look, the style, the different stages in his career.......
Awesome! Who's here for 2020 quarantine?
I'm following the path of the hundred books, which seem to have impressed Bowie the most. This song has been influenced by Burgess' Clockwork Orange.
My friend and fellow musician from High School, Mike Hodges, on drums.. Great Video!
Bowie rocks!
Wham bam thank you ma'am!
Total rock and roll energy.
J'adore !!!!!!
Great Artists supporting David ... Its been great covering his songs as Space Boy on YT ... sometimes its OK ... then my performance goes completely pants ... sorry David.
Wow... R.I.P david
Best!!!!!!
banger
Legend 👅
Puro artista
That’s Tin Machine.
Goodnight David
Genius sheer Genius and sorry he had to leave us
Holy shit this is awesome
love some of the outfits, one of them looks like he just got off of work haha
oh yeah!
Wish I had been there. Best part is from 2:58 on, including the double-bass drums at 3:15.
Hell Yes!
rip David
best version of this song is on the ziggy stardust album
Telecinco y TVE1 al final del video, ojo, que eso me ha impactado a lo último
I breathed this album in the 80's - The knives how they lacerate your brain...I've had my share...I'll help you with the pain...Bipolar can be rough.
RIP
The pale duke always brings it
NYC 1990
Mike Hodges on drums... the Cincinnati line up
I think the two dancers did Frank Zappa's Yellow Shark, as well...
Ziggy, White Guy and then finally, Lord Nyronafter all that he decided to introduce us all to David
Adrian!
Thanks Such As, what has, and now what's nots what You think
with David Bowie you don't need a little dance routine to make it more exciting ...
Absolutely right
He wanted to help them though
Oops.. forgot to mention Adrian (Steve) Belew...great guitarist and drummer!
That was the most weird dance ever
I think this is actually Tin Machine which is the project he was involved in around this time.
+Terry Houton different band though...that's Adrian Belew on guitar
+caramia1203 cool thanks
+Terry Houton He toured with Tin Machine in 1989, did this Sound and Vision greatest hits tour solo in 1990 and toured again with Tin Machine in 1991. He was a busy boy
SAM KINNESSON!OH OH HO OHHHHH
It's The La La La Human Steps!
Is that Belew on guitar?
+Fleipe Alvarez Yes.
Hell to the freaking YEAH!!!
It's sped up to much, and it's missing the brass section which for me makes the whole song. I still like it, but it's just not as good as the original.
Cool EnglishMan❤
Is that Adrian Belew on guitar?
yes
OMFG SAM KINISON
The beginning of the Seven Nation Army riff
The dancers add a "je ne sais quoi" to the
performance.
Love Bowie, love Belew. The guitar solo was fucking gash though!
What a mess! Ronno made this song & it is sadly lacking without his guitar.
Who are the band here?
Driver parallel lines
Yep, the groove of the song suffers with the increased tempo. That said, Bolder, Ronson, and Woodmansey, did the speedy version in '73 live too.
Who's that host on the left at the beginning? He looks a bit like JFK. =.=
LOL, man, that's Gary Busey!
I believe that's Adrian Belew :)
Yes, that is Adrian Belew on lead guitar.
hey bebé te amo, ¿qué tal si bailamos como los otros dos? u.u
Obvio que si, te ves muy guapo esta noche uwu
Was Busey pissed at Kinnison??
Hell naw, man, BOTH of them were coked up to the fucking gills, neither of them cared a shit about what was going on around them, and Sam Kinnison did a nasty little joke about AIDS and then introduced Elton John, who called him a disgusting pig of a person, or something to the effect. Half was bleeped out. But I remember THIS awards show like none other in my life.
Adrian Belew-it
Who's the guitarist?
This does not sound like the original but good
That's how you dance to this....haha ;)
Why the dancers? Kind of strange.
Gary Busey?
Yup, Gary Busey.
She's a total Wam Bam
Bowie makes the dancers look like draft horses compared to him.
Poor Sammy..
