I saw Bowie several times. The most memorable time was at Radio City Music Hall in the summer of '75. The "Young Americans" Tour. ~ Young Americans is the ninth studio album by the English musician David Bowie, released on 7 March 1975 by RCA Records. ~~ The album marked a departure from the glam rock style of Bowie's previous albums, showcasing his interest in soul and R&B music.~ Bowie would call the album's sound "plastic soul", describing it as "the squashed remains of ethnic music as it survives in the age of Muzak rock, written and sung by a white limey". He was amazing! Four straight nights in a row ~ (we only scrounged tickets for 2 nights) ~ but both those shows were great! Thanks for all the great memories David. RIP my brother. I saw him a couple times in the 80s, but never really looked at all these totally different live ones until now, and am so glad we have them. So many styles and eras, and finally just a band doing his songs like you could see anywhere, that happen to be sung by DB.

Don't know about the "most of us" until this century; we now know for some time in many locations life spans are decreasing (and/ OR "quality of life" is deteriorated through surgeries we were supposed to but now cannot get, limitations in access to care unless one is wealthy and can if needed travel to another country for treatment. We all know Medical system has failed many but also despite difficulties seems miraculous it DOES serve so many as well as it does.
This was the performance that was broadcast in theatres across the world (and was recorded on September 8th, my 16th birthday!). On September 15th (showings were delayed in Canada), my mom drove me and my friend an hour and a half - on a school night no less - to a theatre in Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada so I could see it. Three months later, I rushed past floor security at his Montreal, Canada show and stood 10 feet away from him, stunned. I got sent back to my seat (side section), but for those few moments there he was. Right there. I'll never forget those experiences.

It was at The Riverside Studios, Hammersmith, London. I was lucky enough to be there on the night, there were only 350 invited guests via Bowienet. It was actually the launch of The Reality album & was relayed simultaneously to cinemas around the world. It a truly great night & a great gig although its missing New Killer Star.
Reality.. is the 23rd studio album by David Bowie. It was released on 15 September 2003 on his Iso Records label, in conjunction with Columbia Records. Bowie started writing the songs for Reality as the production for his previous album Heathen was wrapping up. Some songs he wrote quickly: "Fall Dog Bombs the Moon" was written in 30 minutes. Other songs, such as "Bring Me the Disco King", was a song Bowie had tried his hand at as early as the 1970s and had tried again with 1993's Black Tie White Noise as well as Heathen in 2002. Bowie and Visconti produced both the stereo and 5.1 mix in the studio as the album was recorded. I've said on other videos comments how ridiculous it is to miss someone I never knew, met or even saw live but I listen to and watch David and I mourn him being here. I miss him being out there. I miss and mourn never having another album. No more fabulous performances to watch and "waste" a bit of time on! I guess over time "rare" unreleased work will be put out and we can rejoice in the unknown but it will never be the same as a newly written album. Not laughed so much for a long while!
I've said on other videos comments how ridiculous it is to miss someone I never knew, met or even saw live but I listen to and watch David and I mourn him being here. I miss him being out there. I miss and mourn never having another album. No more fabulous performances to watch and "waste" a bit of time on!
I guess over time "rare" unreleased work will be put out and we can rejoice in the unknown but it will never be the same as a newly written album.
Oh man I'm feeling soppy for David and his music and the loss of his amazing fantastic songs, performances, wit, intelligence, humour, etc.

A new posthumous David Bowie record, The Mercury Demos, is set for release on 28 June 2019 via Parlophone. ~~ The 10-track effort will feature previously unreleased Bowie recordings.

The Mercury Demos are 10 early recordings, captured live in one take to a Revox reel-to-reel tape machine in Bowie’s apartment in the spring of 1969, with accompaniment from John ‘Hutch’ Hutchinson on guitar and vocals. The recording was requested by Mercury Records A&R man Calvin Mark, who wanted the tracks to send to his boss Bob Reno. Both Calvin and Bob are referenced during the 41-minute recording, and the demos were key in securing Bowie’s recording deal with Mercury Records. ~~~ A press release further describes the album: “The version of ‘Space Oddity’ from The Mercury Demos, originally released with edits on the Sound & Vision boxed set, is presented here in its true context for the first time. The other nine recordings on the album are all previously unreleased. In addition to the Bowie originals, the session also includes the Roger Bunn composition ‘Life Is a Circus’ (which features in an earlier demo version on the Clareville Grove Demos set) and the Lesley Duncan composition ‘Love Song,’ later recorded by Elton John for his Tumbleweed Connection album. Bowie’s own ‘Conversation Piece’ is announced as a new song and ‘Janine’ features a short, 19-second section sung to the melody of The Beatles’ ‘Hey Jude.’”
The Mercury Demos set will come in a replica of the original tape box and will feature one vinyl LP, a print, and two photo contact sheets and sleeve notes by Mark Adams.
