Hi Dr Lee, This was a great video. Very glad you are researching adjuncts to conventional therapy. If you have not yet considered it you might also look into fasting (fast mimicking diet - Dr Longo) and high dose melatonin as the science around both are quite compelling. My wife has stage 4 met HER2+ breast cancer (breast, lungs, bones, lymph, liver, brain) and she employed fasting/melatonin/attention to gut health/diet (whole plant based) with a chemo/check point inhibitor (enhertu) and in about 6 months per CT/PET and now 2 Signatera genetics tests has no evidence of disease. Enhertu full response rate is in the low single digits when used alone for met cancer but can be augmented greatly to get the all important immune involvement if combined with adjuncts. After years of our own research we have come to believe cancer is primarily a failure of the immune system not unlike AIDS and that uncontrolled cancer growth is a result of this failure. Reestablishing proper immune function/gut health is key to a full/long lasting response. I wish you well.

That is amazing to hear. I have just added melatonin. Can you tell me what dose she takes and how many times a day? I do intermittent fasting now as I don’t have the excess stores to do a longer fast yet. I am so happy she is doing well. Thank you di much for sharing!

@@NhiTranLee Hi Dr Lee. Thank you so much for your response. I am more than happy to provide whatever information I can that may be of help to you and your particular situation.
My wife employes 5 main adjunctive therapies in conjunction with enhertu; diet (plant based/organic/mostly raw), the fast mimicking diet, high dose melatonin, daily sun exposure or red light therapy and a wide array of fermented foods (kefir/kimchi/sauerkraut/kombucha) to address gut health. One other "odd" thing she did/does is to drink 4-6 oz of unsweetened pomegranate juice daily for 30 days initially and then a few times a week thereafter as this has been shown to cultivate a particular gut bacteria that is related to significantly increasing the effectiveness of immune checkpoint inhibitors (like herceptin). I think there is a recently developed probiotic that offers this strain directly rather than having to drink pomegranate juice.
      Specifically on fasting/melatonin:
Fasting: She will start a 5 day fast mimicking diet 4 days before her enhertu treatment (which is every 3 weeks) and end it a day after treatment. This "diet" allows for about 600-700 cals a day with a specific ratio of carbs/fat/protein and will simulate the autophagy effects of water only fasting. This is not meant to starve cancer but to sensitize/stimulate the immune system and help degrade the cancer microenvironment encouraging immune involvement. This has also been shown to greatly improve the performance of conventional drugs and blunt side effects. She typically only loses about 2-4 lbs (mostly fat not muscle) on this fast. Please look up Prof Valter Longo for details.
      Melatonin:
Day to day she will take a total of 500 mg of melatonin/day starting at round 11:00 am every 3-4 hours in 100 mg doses with the last dose being 200mg at bed.
Whenever she is going to have enhertu treatment or a scan or any form of radiation she will take 300-400 mg 1.5-2 hours before the event.
Much science on the synergistic effects of melatonin with most chemo's and radiation as well as the protective effects on healthy cells.
We buy melatonin in bulk (Bulk Supplements) and fill our own pill casings since no company we know of sells melatonin in such high dose pills.
She has been taking the high dose melatonin for over 6 months with no adverse effects and it has not disturbed her sleep patterns or made her tired.
Melatonin has been shown to have low toxicity even in high doses with no negative feedback loop effects.
Her side effects from ICI's and chemo have been mild throughout the months she has had treatment so much so that her oncologist has double checked the dosage several times to ensure she is getting a full dose. He expected her side effects to be much more pronounced and in-line with other patients receiving the same.
Her results have been a surprise to everyone involved. When she started treatment her primary breast mass was 6.8 cm per CT scan. By the next CT scan some 4.5 months later the mass was 7.0 cm with a new nodule identified. This was initially discouraging but the oncologist had a hard time believing the treatment had no positive effect so he ordered a PET scan to check activity. The PET scan came back negative for all areas of prior cancer involvement. The radiologist could not reconcile how the mass grew yet there was no activity found so he suggested in his notes that the scan was invalid and the cancer had changed fuel source away from sugar which the scan uses to gauge activity. But in reality the PET scan was accurate and the increase in the size of the primary mass (and new nodule) was likely due to the inflammatory effects from immune involvement which is documented in the scientific literature. Since then the primary mass has shrunk by more than 50% and many new nodules have popped up and the cancer mass breaks up and dissolves. Soon after we had the more sensitive Signatera "genetic" test done to see how much residual cancer may be left and to our surprise that too was negative to which the oncologist said "that's insane" as we all expected some positive value. She has now had a second negative Signatera test after a 6 week break from treatment. She is considering suspending treatment and closely monitoring going forward with the idea that the immune system will continue to keep any new cancer in check.
If there is any more info I can provide please don't hesitate to ask.
      All my best, Mike

@@OfficeSpaceRedStapler wow thank you for taking all of that time to provide more information. I am so glad to hear how well your wife is doing. I will up my melatonin dosing and definitely the fast mimicking diet is great for the days surrounding treatment. I will probably go back to doing that monthly as well once my weight stabilizes a little. I just need a few more months to recover from everything I've lost from the brain surgery.

I saw your other video talking about how you had 30 books about natural treatments and changing up your diet all organic etc. etc. my question is how much of a difference do you think all that made? Did it do you think it affected the cancer? did it help you with your Energy? And or your mental health? I’m also in Atlanta. My mom has stage four liver cancer. Also, have you explored any of the treatments in Mexico or Costa Rica? Do you have any thoughts on that them?

Hi, I think that doing all of the research and reading a ton of books do help to a degree. It can get confusing and overwhelming though so one has to be careful about information overload. What I’ve learned along the way is to just go back to the basics, eat well, move your body, find joy, and work on your stress/emotions/mental health. At the end of the day, it’s really the actions that you have to take to be disciplined to do these things. It is exhausting to keep up with it but the mindset matters because if you don’t see it as something you dread but rather something you get to do to enjoy a healthier life with less side effects and you get to live longer, then it makes all the difference. I have not gone to Mexico or Costa Rica but def know about those clinics and maybe some day if it came down to it and I was at the end of my road I would go. For now, I can do things at home that don’t cost very much and mainly just need to stick with what works. My dad had liver cancer so I know how tough that is. I hope your mom is doing ok.

Great information! Thank you for sharing your research. You may have already ready it, but please read this. We found it very helpful and saw the author speak at an integrative oncology conference for patients and physicians. “How to Starve Cancer: ...and Then Kill It With Ferroptosis” by Jane McClelland

      @NhiTranLee  6 месяцев назад

Yes, I have read her book and I mentioned that in one of my videos, there is another book that is similar by Dr. Jeffrey Dach called cracking cancer tool kit that you would like. I just think Janes book is too much and hard to make the right protocol and take so much supplements and drugs. I am definitely doing a lot of what she suggests though and have my own protocol with the help of my naturopathic and integrative oncologists.
