What up y'all?!? Today I'm reviewing the NEW ORS Nourishing Sheen Spray w/ coconut oil. I've always been a fan of the old formula and use it all the time, but it was time to replace it. How does the new formula compare?

I am so glad I found your channel because I use ORS Olive Oil without the Coconut Oil & it worked great! I had run out so I went to the store & I picked up the ORS Oil Sheen WITH the Coconut Oil & I immediately felt & saw the difference, & not in a good way. My hair got drier & my ends were brittle. I am definitely not using this in my hair again. I'll be returning it tomorrow. 👎👎👎👎..Thanks so much for this video! I thought it was just me! 😊😊
I've been using Organic Root Stimulator (ORS) products for decades. The new oil sheen spray does not disappoint. I love it.

For this product, I think they removed wayyy too much of the other nourishing ingredients and now its just meh..
Hello All.. I have used the old olive oil hair spray formula for many years. It was just ok, nothing to write home about. Just recently, I was at the beauty supply store, and saw a small can of the newer spray, with the coconut oil. I have naturally dry hair, ( no perm) I'm not sure of the my hair type, but its thin, and tangles something terrible when wet! ! It also gets instantly puffy and frizzy in hot humid weather!!
Babeee, let me tell you! Lol I have been using the ORS olive oil with coconut for only 4 days, and it has been a game changer! Yesterday, I sprayed some on my ponytail and I was out in the heat for awhile. I kept feeling my hair just to check, and I couldn't believe it! My ponytail was so straight and soft! This has NEVER happened to my hair!I was like, huh???? Omg! I will NEVER stop using this new version oil. The older version olive oil spray never did this to my hair!! I am soooo excited, that I finally found something to stop my dry fuzzies in the summer! Yesterday, I bought the new version of the ORS shampoo and conditioner with castor oil. I havent used it yet, as I just washed my hair last week. I will definitely come back and report how my hair turned out with the new products! Ladies, if you have dry frizzy hair, in high heat, or high humidity, give this a try! Signed, happy camper!! Yassss :-)

Your video was beneficial, I just bought another can of ORS Olive Oil spray and experienced the same thing and was considering returning the new one, but seeing how this is now a new upgrade I'll probably won't find the old version anywhere!
I wonder why they added coconut oil when so many women have expressed in the past few years how cocunut oil doesn't work for their hair? I find that odd. My hair is super finicky with coconut oil...I can't go to it to retain moisture in my hair, only shine.
coconut oil grew my hair ALOT, I don’t understand how people say it does jit work.
Companies are jumping on the band wagon. Every hack and every "natural" ingredient that consumers come up with and make popular for skin and hair, companies incorporate it into their products even if there is no evidence to show that it really does what people claim. People are gullible and companies capitalize off of that. Coconut oil is not good for me. Used it in the past and it made my scalp so itchy and flakey.
I have a old can of ORS oil sheen. It's the one I would use on my hair when it was relaxed as well. I've been natural for 2 years and never thought to use oil sheen on my natural hair. I deal with the same problem as you, so I don't think I'll be purchasing the new ORS. Thanks for this video, it was really helpful!🤗

Listen, they use oil sheen in the hair salon, so that means I need to be using it too! I am going to grab a can for me and my little lady(12). Her hair doesn't 'shine' and she's a swimmer so I am always adding oil but this would be great. Duh, sometimes you just have to take it back to the oldies but goodies. I had to break out the good old jar of vaseline for the face and body when she's at swim practice and for our heels. Can't have crusty feet🤣
Thanks for this video. Ever since the 'upgrade' from their name Organic Root Stimulator to the acronym of ORS, I felt like they dumbed down the mame and 'watered' down their products and were never the same again.

I'm so bummed that they changed this formula 😢. I think I'm going to look at some of these dry oil sprays brands have out to see if I can find a good one. As for this oil sheen... I used the old one on my hair yesterday and was like yeah.... I gotta return the new one. So sad! It's just not the same for me.
I just recently tried the new ORS with coconut oil, and it is a game changer! I will NEVER go back to the old spray can! I am soooo excited! Wont he do it! Lol
The old version is WAY better because it sprayed like a "sheen" and had a lighter smell and spray force,👍 perfect for a press...the new coconut one sprays WAY TOO HEAVY ( like a can of RAID! Lol!) and WET!!! messes up your press like you got wet in the rain or been sweating. It smells too sweet and strong especially for the summer making bugs wanna chase you down! ( the opposite of RAID Lol!)
I love the Organics brand oil sheen. I will never stop using it. It is the best oil spray I have ever used.
I used the one with coconut, it be having my waves on super swimmm
I use EVO to moisturize my fro at night then wet/untangle dry/style and finish with the spray in the morning. I like that the spray is light and is almost gone by the end of the day. I know everybody is different but this is my goto. :) love the reviews.
This video is 4 years old but I’m just noticing they changed the formula. The original smelled so good and that’s why it popped in my head to revisit it. The new version doesn’t smell bad but give me the OG. Wonder if I can find it on eBay.
When I was relaxed I used ors products. I liked the oil sheen spray because it moisturized my hair.
I'm just now being introduced to the new one but the original has been a favourite of mine from ever since. It does leave my hair soft as well so sometimes I will spray it on before wrapping up my hair for bed to help it comb easily the next morning.
New does not always mean better. I also have an old can of ORS Sheen Spray, I will be keeping it, I was thinking of getting a new can, but now I think not. I will try to find something similar to the old can. Thanks for the update 👏🏽🙏🏾

The new versions smells BETTER to me it actually rivals Cantu and its not as heavy as Cantu. Its a must have for the barbershop for those finishing touches on a haircut! ✊💪

That’s disappointing that ORS took Horsetail and Nettle out of that spray. My hair loves both of those.
I make a tea of those two herbs and put it in a spritzer bottle (sometimes dilute it with more water). My hair loves them also!
They still make the other one. You don’t have to settle for the coconut oil one.

Lol...you've actually just reminded me about Ors Olive Oil Sheen spray. This was my holy grail hair staple along with Herbal Essences Shampoo and Conditioner for damaged and distressed hair. I would. In those days I only moisturized my hair with Olive Oil and I would spray this oil sheen on top. You're right. It would be a great idea to spray this on twist and braid before removing them. My hair loved this spray. I'm not feeling the new one though. I've never tried it but, if it ain't broke don't fix it lml. Is the old one discontinued? Thanks for the video! 😊

NaturalMe4C lol, it wasn't me either. Many companies change their formulas so that the product is cheaper to produce. Coconut Oil is in right now so they probably wanted to jump on the band wagon, which is cool if they sell both formulas. If they want to change something they should change the pump. 😊
You may be able to find the old one at a beauty supply store.

Mineral oil dries hair out. I try to keep away. If there’s an oil sheen without it I’ll try it

That Blue can sheen will mess your hair up trust me. Olive oil and castor oil is the best just my opinion

dont like it at all.. i liked the way back original version, with the dark green cap... but i went ahead tried 2nd one, it was ok on my cornrows... but this new one... nope.. i find its drying, the scent makes me sneeze and watery eyes... dont like the odor... and i dont like coconut oil. Even isoplus changed the scent and now added coconut oil.
I'm so disappointed too. I hate the smell with the coconut oil!!! I ordered an original version online but what was received was the new version....not cool Ebay seller!!!! I then went to Sally's. I bought Proclaim Olive Oil. Testing it out. So far..ok. Has a light scent. Not bad. The Isoplus scent was not good....didn't even bother buying. Why did ors have to change my favorite hair product.

Unfortunately, I haven't found one that was as good as the old ORS Olive oil one. :( I have a small can of Isoplus but I don't like the smell very much and the product isn't as good as the old ORS...

Unfortunately I still haven't found one smh.... so I actually now use a natural body oil mist from Jr watkins (coconut milk and honey scent) lol. I've been using it for months without issue and it works well. ☺

Couldn't agree more!!! I wrote an email to ORS directly asking the same thing! I hate the new product with coconut oil. I have been using the original ORS Olive Oil spray for 10+ years. After washing and drying my hair I would apply the Olive oil and it didn't change the way my hairs smelled which was clean and amazing! Why did they have to mess up my game! My mom has a whole can I bought in July when I went across country to visit. She won't mail it to me cause it's an aerosol! uuuggh I may have to fly there just to get it! Lol :)
Isoplus oli sheen and Cantu oli sheen has alcohol in it it's Ors olive oil is alochol free that why i only use ors OLIVE oil sheen alcohol free

Mineral oil??? I don't like products that have mineral oil because it is a petroleum product and you have to use a sulfate shampoo to get it out of your hair.
I haven't had issues removing it with using things like Devacurl no poo or even sulfate free shampoos like Camille Rose 🤗.
(Dove dermacare is one of my fave sulfate shampoos that don't jack my hair up lol.)
Yeah if I use a product with mineral oil and don't use a sulfate shampoo to remove my hair feels like it has residue.
