Basically, a stronger magnetic field caused by the additional magnet will cause the voice coil to push further given the same amount of power as before. This will enable you to get more pressure (SPL) from your speaker by using less amplifier power. In other words, your speaker will be louder with the same amount of power that you used before. Hence, it makes the speaker more efficient. Example: Without the magnet maybe you obtained an SPL of 90db with 300 watts of power. But now, with the additional magnet, maybe you only need 250 watts of power to obtain the SPL of 90db.

That is inaccurate. To get more SPL, you need more cone movement. You will not get any more cone movement with the limitations of the spider, surround, and the space where the voice coil moves inside the magnet. If you bottom out the voice coil, you will not get more output. If you push the cone outwards beyond the limitations of the other parts of the speaker, you will rip something apart. If you continuously to both of those, you're frying your voice coil.
What the gentleman said about non-linear distortion above is correct. The only reason to add the additional magnet is to add shielding so the driver can be used near CRTs, hard drives, etc. The proper way to do that is to glue it on using a press because you're flipping the magnet over (N to N or S to S ) in order for it to press together.

The second magnet is shielding. Shielding prevented some distortion of the old CRT tv's. Encasing both magnets in a metal dish provided more. Shielding is now not needed with LCD/ LED/and other screens. But adding an inverted magnet does improve the efficiency of the driver.

It will increase the efficiency ok by about 0.0000000001 % probably an exaggeration because the magnet isn't actually in the magnetic circuit.
I tried this on my 3 inch tweeter and now I get bass down to 12hz at 115 DB... Thanks guy..

Personally I think that reel to reel tape is a better format than Vinyl,. MY machine is a TEAC X-10R 10.5" Bi- directional record/play 7 1/2 ips dual capstan 6 head deck and to me things often sound better when recorded from original source on to tape with this deck.I have recorded music from digital streaming sites and found that the same music no has a much more listenable " texture " if you will. Although my deck doesn't compare to some other decks as per some elitist folk, I think it sounds great and I am actually quite a critical listener being a live sound engineer. Enjoy your machines and the music you listen to on them, also thank you for putting this video together, its been quite an education.Cheers!

Adding more magnetic circuit usually requires forcing magnets together in repell mode. This adds sensitivity, lowers q, requires differeng box and tuning. Putting magnet in attract mode should increase q, lower sensitivity. If in doubt, measure it.

Increasing the strength of the original magnet should/will make the speaker louder BUT, to do that, any extra magnet must be fitted in parallel with the existing.
Picture the extra magnet having to be a ring magnet or toroid (as you have) but its internal diameter must be slightly greater that the original so that it fits over the original.
Then you need 'magnetic material' to fill the gap between the new extra magnet and the steel basket of the speaker, Soft steel wire will do, wrapped round and round and round.
Also you need a magnetic metal plate/disc of the same outside diameter of your new extra magnet to fit where you placed the new one at the very back of the speaker.
Be careful though.
The voice-coil suspension (spider) of the original will have been matched to the strength of the original magnet and you stand a very real chance of wrecking the entire speaker,

Yes even with poor quality of speakers you have a good sound if you add magnet at the back.
That is not how that works or why manufactures put that magnet on the back, they put another magnet on the back plate of the woofer to video shield is so you can have it close to old tube TVs and not hurt the TV. This will not help get you more bass at all.
