PVA Bag Fishing For Commercial CARP!
For this latest episode we take the cameras down to Broome pits in Suffolk with the aim of catching a few carp using some PVA bags.
PVA is usually a product associated with the big carp scene, but when used correctly it can be equally effective for smaller commercial carp.
It’s especially good in the cooler months when you’re trying to catch one fish at a time, it’s also brilliant on hard days when you really want to, or need to, chop and change baits.
To find out a exactly how we got on and if we managed a few fish, watch the latest episode from the waters edge…
As usual we hope you enjoy it and any feedback is always much appreciated.

Hello Chris and Steve, Thanks as always for taking the time and effort with your videos, really enjoyed this one, fish as you say were in top condition, been doing a bit more with a feeder rod and this method is definitely worth trying

@@FromTheWatersEdgeTV yes it was great
1 of my favorite methods for winter and i always use the goo on every bag as you do get bites much quicker.
Steve does love a bit of Goo too! :-D
@@FromTheWatersEdgeTV Have you tasted any of them??? Some would make great doughnut fillers ...... mmmmmhhhhhmmm doughnuts
great vid guys. cheers from the Netherlands :)
Thanks as always Erwin! :-)
Nice presentation, Interesting.
Cheers Michael! It's definitely worth giving it a go. :-)
Great video steve
Thanks John! :-)
Great video! Have you ever tried corn soaked in garlic? Very effective here in the States where I fish.
Thanks Bill! We haven't mate, we don't tend to use too much garlic as an attractant.
Great video 👍. With the raw ground bait , in the P.V.A mesh. Do you add attractor, to the mix. Be4 putting it in the mesh ?
Thanks Andy! :-) In the groundbait bags it's just dry groundbait, if you add any liquid the bags would lose they buoyancy. That little trick is well worth experimenting with though. :-)
Great video and i have to say i'm really sold on using PVA bags, the versatility and reliability of them. Reliability in that unlike a method feeder, you know the loose bait wont break off or the PVA bag wont split as soon as it hits the water, which can be a problem when fishing the method. I guess the only slight drawback to PVA bags is they cost more with having to keep buying more once you run out but thats only a minor gripe. Cant wait to try PVA bags soon as soon as we can get back out on the bank, i'm actually going to do an experiement...i'll fish a lake twice on the same peg each time, one day fish it with PVA and the other day on the method and compare the bite frequency between the two. Whats your favourite lads...PVA or method?
Hi mate, thanks for the kind comments and for taking the time to post them, glad you enjoyed the video! Both are great methods, but I'd say we probably just favour the method feeder. :-) Fingers crossed we can all get back out again soon and catch a few. Stay safe and tight lines.
Some great tips in there guys and very well produced, keep up the good work! 🎣
Cheers Jimmy! Hope you're well mate and that you've been catching a few fish in your matches?
@@FromTheWatersEdgeTV I'm well thank you. Still plodding along with the matches, but it's a hard old game!!!!
What rod and reel are you using
What reel is that Steve? Loving the super slow oscillation, like an Ultegra 5500 :D *EDIT* The colouring looks like a Cadence CS10 5000. *EDIT 2* nvm just watched more of the video, Matrix Horizon 6000 :P The tackle tart in me wouldn't let me part with my Ultegra 5500's and TDR Distance reels.
Haha! :-)
Steve. That groundbait looked wet to me?
No it wasn't Paul, just dry groundbait, as that floats.
Flourcorbon hooklengh ??
Fluorocarbon. I think flourcorbon is a french delicacy......PMSL.
@@majmat haha bloody phone haha would u use it pal
@@barrybrown4823 Yes i do use fluorocarbon quite a lot.
@@majmat 4lb in winter ok would you agree thanks
@@barrybrown4823 In winter i use middy lowviz 0.12mm 3.2lb for fishing for f1's and small carp and bream and if i'm out for big lumps or using the method feeder i'll use 0.16mm 5.2lb so 4lb will be fine for everything.
If you are fishing for carp, you SHOULD have a carp landing net AND an unhooking mat.
