4x4 Land Rover Defender 110 Crawling Through Menai Including 80 Series Hill

- In this 4x4 video, I'm taking my Land Rover 110 County (Defender) off-road in Menai, including a climb up a 80 series hill. I try to idle through most obstacles with a blip of throttle where needed. It includes a drive in a variety of terrain including mud and rocks.
This Land Rover 110 is well built and has no problems climbing some difficult sections making it look easy. The 37 inch Maxxis Trepador tyres do a great job in combination a good suspension setup and twin locked diffs.
Hope you enjoy watching and look forward to reading your comments.
I already dug your style and then I saw a peak of a wood steering wheel dude? Hell yeah!
You dont dig the wooden wheel? I like it cause its smaller and grips real good.
@@lror I love the wood wheel! I hopefully more sooner than later I’ll get one for my disco. You’re old 3 door is a huge inspiration for me. Seems like no one wheels this things properly here on the states. I appreciate your videos showing how it’s done.
@@ktrudeau340 thanks Karl appreciate it and hope your Disco gives you plenty of good times 👍
Never get tired of seeing this vehicle!
Me too, just wish i had more time to use it these days.
Love your videos love the way defender just walked up everything no spinning tires No loud pedal Always look forward to your videos thanks
Thanks 👍
That thing is unreal….I think a walk around on the suspension set up is in order..
Cheers man, as in a specific in depth suspension or general walk around?
@@lror in depth with any experiences and experiments would be amazing!
@@scottrc5776 okay yep with previous suspension etc 👍
@@lror
In depth on the suspension please…it’s clearly not LR original!!!
I would like that please ..take care boys
❤ Q Tal Perfect !! 🧚♂️👌🎧⚽️🏁💐🎙
My favorite 4x4 and favorite off-road channel on RUclips is back!
I love your car and how you climb everything. You're not doing the tracks, you're owning them.
🍻
My God that Land Rover is a mf tank! Those older models like this one are straight beast! Demon Time💯
That's a honey badger of a Landy, It literally doesn't give a shit about those obstacles, superb example.
You and this defender are smooth... that doesnt look like obstacles but rather a casual stroll through a park!!! Awesome
What a monster Landy... No change in revolutions, up, down, not even feeling the obstacles...
Nice video 👍🏻🇿🇦
A 80 series couldn’t do that
this is a real 4x4, a real Defender, not actual defender
Best 110 out there
☺
Great to see you getting back into it, love it
Thank you, I have missed being behind the wheel heaps.
Is This the same “V8” diesel ? 😂
Sure sounds like a healthy v8 🤣
Di quale anno è il Defender? Motorizzazione?
Great to see the 110 still at it. 💪
Great to be behind the wheel again. Opportunities for trips are rare these days.
@@lror I've got one of these. 1997 300Tdi. I go to trips and events with my family, so I went from 35" to 33" for less trouble with the police. 1" lift, full lenght old style galvanized roof rack. Looks and drives great. Nearly the same color as yours. Cheers.
Lror video 🤗
Incredible 👌
She's a good old rig.
I have a serious question. So if you look at my disco on my profile it has a 2 inch lift but it's super stiff. The last owner put ome heavy spring set up. How can I make my soft and articulate the way that Defender does? I'm aware of sway bar disconnects and already took the sway bar out of the rear. The lucky 8 website has a Terra Firma 4 inch lift that comes with other things you would need like brake line extenders, panhard arm, rear shaft, watt links etc. My question is after all that do you think the terra firma 4 inch lift is more for looks but is pretty stiff or do you think it is soft and will like that defender on your video. That being said, what exactly would you recommend and what setup do you have on that Defender? I'm looking to make my Disco perform like in your video. I don't care how it handles on the road
Im not sure what the spring rates are on the TF 4 inch lift so i couldn't tell you how well the will work. Also 4 inch lift is rather high, is there a specific reason you're going that high? Keep in mind your D2 has a different setup in the rear than D1 or defender style rear. Your D2 runs radius arms in the back and that limits movement comared to the A-frame upper and trailing arms on mine. Best would be to look for a D2 that flexes the way you like and see what they have done.
@@lror oh okay I see about the difference on the rear. I'm not sure why I chose the 4in I just thought it looks good and I could fit decent tires and would give me a little more clearance especially the rear departure angle. A lot of the stuff over here is like the stuff on your videos but a little more Rocky at times. I definitely don't care how it handles on the road it's not my only vehicle
What a remarkable BEAST and Jockey. Well done again.
Thanks man but its mostly the car im just there for the ride 😉
Welcome back mates!!
🍻
D110 monster.
Still got it bruh!!! Awesomeness :)
It's all the car bro 😉 Hope you and the fam are doing well 👍
Thank you for introducing me to a great car! It's a great video.~~~^_^

Cheers for sharing.
Amazing
AWESOME RIDE YALL!!!!!!!!! That Landy's a BEAST!!!!!!!!👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
That diesel sounds like an angry beast! Awesome
If my 4×4 wants this,I will tell it to go by itself
😂 thats funny
No music; just the engine purring; perfect. 👍🏻🙏🦘
Just the way i like it without a whole bunch of sales bullshit.
Should invite the 4wd action boys along so they can see how 4wding is done
Absolutely awesome footage live the engine sound
magnifique!!!!! le defender ses un Terminator!!!!!👍👍👍👍😉😉👌👌👌👌
สุดยอด
Happy to see you back with a new amazing video !
Long time ago we went into tropical forests with a Land Rover Defender 110. At some point we had to pass through a crazy river. The driver told us get ready for a free massage!
Thats pretty funny 😂 as long as you made it to the other side safely.
Enjoying this video is not the reality : I LIVE THIS VIDEO !!!
Sooooo smooth !
Thanks for making those great videos!
My pleasure man and thank you for the comment.
Тут пешком страшно ходить, а он на бибике ездит хоть бы хер! 😯 Браво👏🤝🍻
How do you find those tyres compared to the old ones please .😊
Also what kilo rating springs do you have …thanks mate
Man the Trepador s are on a whole other level. The Toyos are great but no comparison with these.
Rear are progressive rates roughly 150lb over 230lb and the front are dual rate coilovers with 175lb over 200lb.
Sacrément efficace ce Land.
Bravo.
Yeah she is 😎
Oui, une vraie bête ! Tout en puissance et douceur !
Woo Hoo! Your back. I miss that chugging sound from the Isuzu as you idle up the track.
Wish i could get out more often these days.
The Green Tractor is back!
Nice Land Rover defender
A man that clearly knows his rig! Soothes my ocd to watch!
🍻👍
good to see another new Menai video ! 🏞️🏜️🤙😎🛻📹
Definitely good to be out again bro, hope you've been keeping well 👍
Do you still have it?
That's a new one 😂 How is the mighty TJ going?
@@lror it's going good
Calm and strong! 😊
👊
Master Class Evo!
Thanks mate 👍
Que lleváis en los ejes?, tengo un Discovery 300 y todo el mundo me dice que se van a romper los ejes
Yes i agree standard axles will break on this sort of terrain. I used to run HD Chromoly Rover axles when i was running 33" and max 35" tyres, but i dont believe they would handle 37" stickys for long so now i have 35 spline rear axles and 32 spline front axles.
ok, thanks, I don't need that much, since I do overland, although I'm starting to want to try, could you tell me how long a standard axle can hold without problems?, greetings
Beautiful
Thank you! Cheers! 🍻
👍👍👍👍👍👍👍😀😀
🤙

@LROR where is your buddy with the bad+ss Ram? Like to see the 110 and the Ram on the trail together.
@@johnfitzgerald5158 that Ram is an incredible beast. It's undergoing even more mods 💪
@LROR here's a link with me and some buddies from multiple states hitting the trails in the mountains of PA. My Power Wagon is the gray one with red/black trim.
