ATGMS in a field is strong, the stealth on them is enough you can have 2 or 3 in the field and snipe tanks well as ATGMs out range most tanks

I love this game and watching it, but the fact I never hear the soundtrack, even in the opening card always bugs me, it fit so well and gets you instantly in the mood for some 80s cold war fights. I'm sure copyright is why but still feels like a missed opportunity.

Ironically, the stats after the "tank rework" are exactly the opposite right now. T-80s have the same accuracy as Abrams, garbage tanks like the T-62 are only slightly worse, and both still get gun launched missiles which are quite accurate and have between 400 and 800m more range than NATO tanks. Pact also still has better AA and artillery, and generally better infantry too. AT, especially the LAWs the US is stuck with for the most part, are almost completely useless against even shitter tanks like T-55 and T-72s, and you literally will need 3 squads worth of them all hitting in order to kill a T-80U or UD.
@@satomonster568 That mostly lines up with the 80's; The T-80/Abrams were like, The flagship tanks for their nation, and the FCS on the T-80BV/U iirc comparable to the M1A1's, (I think? Seems pretty close in GHPC between the IPM1 and T-80B, so I assume both later variants got better ones). WP guys always had more emphasis on SPAAGs, since they figured they would be losing local air sup pretty consistently. Artillery is a wash? They had a lot more of it than we did at the time, and ran on preplanned artillery missions, but NATO was faster at call in times for on the go fire missions.
As for the GLATGM thing, yeah, the WP picked up the concept and ran with it as a way of providing standoff capability, or dueling with like, TOW emplacements at 3km+, or slapping helos. The US kind of stopped with the Shileleigh, since it was buggy AF.
iirc applique and then ERA bricks were the big push to get stuff like the AT4, since the M72 LAW was nowhere near cutting it for dealing with tanks at that point. Only so much pen you can get from a 66mm HEAT warhead, yknow? We kept them around, since its better than nothing, and could still kill a BMP/BTR no sweat, or getting rear/elevated shots into Tanks.
I have no idea how good the FCS was on an T-62M, nor the stabilizer. I only know the 115mm sabot rounds could potentially punch through the front of the M1's hull in the mid 1980's, and would blow through basically every other tank beyond the Chally/Leo2/late model Cheiftain/Abrams. GLATGM on it was decent.

In any case, Ivan had decent kit...3 decades ago. Not having money to develop new stuff is going to screw them in the nearish future

@@canniballistic555 Feels like nitpicking imo, all wargames are some kind of rock paper scissors. It felt super intuitive and easy to play/hard to master compared to Red Dragon or Warno especially since it's been awhile since I played these games.
Artillery and Air feel super rewarding when used correctly in a combined arms assault.
Perhaps you were expecting a carbon copy of a eugen game with modern units?
It'll be interesting to see how that one shapes up, but I personally wasn't very fond of what I saw. The UI was ass, some of the mechanics pretty unintuitive, like using PGMs or supply, and it just generally felt barely functional, took a long time to even be able to get into a game with the terrible queuing system and the servers going down.
