Copy-pasting and pinning this on all older videos as I'm making them public again: When I was younger I fell pretty hard into that sort of "Oh yeah, I'm leading an internet community, I'm the superstar that knows best so everyone follow me!" which, looking back I'm not especially fond of, it's a very parasocial attitude. I don't think there was any one, super glaring issue, more of a "Death of a thousand cuts" that make me cringe looking back. A series putting forth my ideas as factually "Improving" them, constantly setting my viewers as my "Subjects" in often belittling ways, taking on a tone as if I'm speaking one-to-one with a viewer instead of presenting to a large audience, that sort of thing. And I regret now, it wasn't the healthiest atmosphere for myself or my viewers to foster. So, I just wanted to throw up this "Disclaimer" on all these, as while I don't dislike them enough to throw away years of editing work into a dusty attic, I do feel like a commentary on the 'vibes' I had in the past was necessary. Also to obviously explain the lack of Twitter/Twitch/Discord/Whatever-Else-I-Advertised-In-These-Videos. Trying to keep up a social media rots the brain and I have long since left that behind, I do NOT want that strife in my life! Especially Twitter. Twitter is garbage.
Here's an idea, for his running animation, Waluigi moonwalks and faces the direction *opposite* to where he's moving and for his dash attack, he does a Michael Jackson style point/eye poke which has long range, but does pitiful damage.
Here’s an idea when he looses he dresses up as the winning character and tries to be in the victory screen before master hand, galeem or the character beat him off the stage.
Really fun idea with this one. Personally, I was always a fan of Waluigi trying to mimic other fights' moves to lousy effect in order to get attention. While I know it'd never happen, having a meta joke of him having Fox's reflector (but it's like a crummy cardboard one that doesn't reflect, it just does the shine) or spinning ala Mach Tornado (but it repels the opponent) sounds something like a riot. I love the idea of "Waluigi tries to do anything he can to win", but not necessarily taking the Deadpool approach, if only because I feel as if that's presently a very un-Nintendo thing to do (and that it also fits the Kid Icarus series really well for a slightly more competent fighter, ala Hades or someone). Still, other than just "full Mario Party randomness", this is really fun at the very least.
Yeah, meta is more a Kid Icarus: Uprising thing more so than other game series in Nintendo's lineup. Waluigi fits just perfectly as a joke character imo. Ie has a bunch of nonsensical weapons that he just pulls out of thin air, though it'd mostly just be all of the Bowser inventions from the sport's games.
pyrrhickong | Here's an idea, although it'd require a lot of effort: In every fight, Waluigi's neutral special is a mimicry of one of his opponent's. Think Kirby, but without having to copy first.

I love the idea of Waluigi toying with the games mechanics to his advantage with his specials. It's so stupid, ridiculous and downright insane, just the way I like Waluigi. Another idea is that for his neutrals, he would pull items and attires out of hammer space to fit the attack, like when he uses his F-Smash he dons his Aces costume and delivers a mighty racket slice, or with his U-Smash, he dons his Strikers outfit and kicks up to his head to punt the opponent upwards. Maybe also have flashy effects as he does things, like an actual spotlight on him during that moonwalk dash attack idea of yours, just to highlight how absurd it is.
You ever played/seen Super Puzzle Fighter? In that game, some attacks cause the player to change outfits entirely, either to something like a janitor sweeping a mop, or put on the attire of another Capcom character, like dressing like Mega Man to do a charge shot and/or do a slide kick. Maybe Waluigi could do something like that for most of his moves? If it isn't him, I dunno who could.
Great video! It's definitely an interesting concept, and shows just how versatile and unique Waluigi could be. My main gimmick I'd like to see Waluigi have is based on his damage position. When Waluigi is at a lower percentage than his adversaries he gloats and poses with every hit, like you suggested, but when he is at a higher percentage than them he becomes enraged at the prospect of losing- his idle and post-attack animations becoming aggressive and violent. Waluigi is a sore loser after all. This would also impact his mechanics; when he's losing his speed and strength would increase in a desperate, rage-fuelled attempt to claw back dominance. That also gives way to an interesting set of tactics where players might want to damage themselves to gain that boost in power and finish off their opponents. If he was low-tier, this boost could be substantial enough to propel him to a much higher tier and make him much more viable, while still retaining his low-tier roots.
Beholder | Hmm... a little too close to Lucario's aura. To differentiate it, why not have Waluigi's moves themselves grow more hectic at higher percents, instead of simply his stats? Like his attacks swing wider and hit harder, but his recklessness leaves him open for longer... at incredibly high percents his smash attacks could match Ganon...
THIS is the Waluigi Smash creativity we need!! If Waluigi were implemented similarly to this concept, he’d be redeemed in my eyes and would probably be my fav Nintendo character of all time!
Here's an idea, although it'd require a lot of effort: In every fight, Waluigi's neutral special is a mimicry of one of his opponent's. Think Kirby, but without having to copy first.
I normally don't do the whole "Like, share, and subscribe" thingamajig, as I'm sure people will stick around if they like my content, but it's been several months since I've uploaded proper (Sorry about that) so I'm sure RUclips isn't going to be very kind to this video. Any kind of extra help would be much appreciated, shares/retweets/blood sacrifices/whatever you feel like! I'd love to see if Waluigi's meme status can cheat the system.
A VERY interesting take on Waluigi. Definitely an neat idea. Although I feel the moveset would work better for the stupidest omission in series history: Regginator! Anyway jokes aside as I said it's a very interesting idea, and I like it. Also is the next video dedicated to Jimmy T
This is a good idea for two reasons: 1. Every DLC fighter (other than Piranha Plant) so far has had something completely unique to them that no other character does. Joker can fill up a gauge to summon Arsene, Banjo and Kazooie's wonderwing cancels out most other attacks but won't refill unless you die, Hero's down B let's you choose a move from a LIST, Terry has GO, and Byleth has the longest reaching neautral B. If Waluigi DID focus primarily on cheating to win like you said or at least in a similar fashion, or even if it's not his main focus, it would continue the trend of bringing something completely new and unique to the table. 2. It Parallels Wario's unique moveset in a way. Wario can eat things, including his bike, which CHARGE his fart. This alone connects his neutral B, down B, and even side B in an intersting way. Most of Waluigi's moves wouldn't do this, but his DOWN B is incredibly unique as it manipulates not his other special moves, but his SHIELD. Also, with all his specials, his final smash, and his weird dash attack already mentioned here, the rest of his moves would simply be normal punches and kicks, which isn't too hard to do. As I'm typing this, we know there will be an ARMS character as the next DLC fighter, and, well, we don't know who it is yet. ...BUT I think it is going to be Spring Man solely because he is the most recognizable character of ARMS. The box-cover character as they say, that sells the game. I personally fell it would be weird to have any other ARMS character as playable, but to have Spring Man as an assist trophy. I don't usually bet, but if I did, my money's on Spring Man. If that were the case, assist trophies would be confirmed to NOT deconfirm characters! That has honestly never been an actual rule outside of the community. If it's Spring Man, it'll open the door to not only Waluigi, but other fan favorites such as Issac from Golden Sun, or Shadow, who I'm honestly surprised wasn't an echo fighter in the first place. Maybe even Shovel Knight or Bomberman could get in, and if they did, I'd be legitimately happy for them! I know that others have their "dream character" too. They can't all make in in though, so we'll just have to wait and see. ...unless they pull a surprise third fighter pass like they did with the second one, considering they didn't tell us about it until after the first, but... we'll just have to wait and see! For now let's go with 6 more character slots. My Personal Predictions if this happens to be an Assist Trophy Pack are: Spring Man (duh) Waluigi Issac Knuckles (with Shadow being revealed as Sonic's echo fighter at the same time) Shovel Knight Bomberman If this isn't an assist trophy pack specifically, there's no telling who will get in. Bandana Dee? Crash? Geno? It's all really up in the air now. I feel like now more than ever anyone really could get into Smash! Again, we'll just have to wait and see. Just like the first pass, whoever the next fighters be are already decided. Waluigi or no Waluigi, I'm sure whoever gets in will be fun and interesting to play as and I'm looking forward to finding out! If you actually took the time to read all that, thanks for taking the time to listen to me rambling on lol. Yes, I legitimately like Waluigi as a character like any other, no I do not just like him FoR tHe MeMeS, and no I do not harass Sakurai or his crew for crying out loud. Thank you and goodnight.
I actually wouldn't mind this at all, but I do really think Waluigi should be the one who embodies all the Mario spin-offs sans RPGs, since he is /the/ spin-off character and I think it could be easily done to reference them all seeming as how much Mario takes from different games of his. Though frankly I do think anything dance related would be saved for on-ground dodges and his... elemental attack?.... those would be saved for Smash Attacks and some throws, that whip he has? Tether recovery, specials and aerials could incorporate sports gear from the various sports games (like a baseball bat reflect down-b or an overhead swing with a golf club, the exception though being a Mario Party dice block that goes up to 6 to give him x amount of new jumps for his recovery). I do like the idea for your final smash, but I do think it should be avoidable in some way the others are... even if they're more difficult than they should be (looking at you Peach and Daisy, god I hate that the air isn't a safe place anymore) so why not pull from strikers and have him kick down a multitude of soccer balls or have him take that bob-omb launcher from one of the intros and have him fire a string of bombs before firing King Bob-omb himself? Personally I prefer the bomb idea while one of his taunts can have him basically be doing the soccer ball taunt Lucio does.... but the initial kick and ball actually do damage. Personally I do have a full written out concept of a moveset like this, but it requires some changes since it also used a Piranha Plant in it and it was made prior to it joining the roster.
Throwing out random sport references isn't good character design. Instead it feels unoriginal, lame and generic. Like why would he even have to be waluigi when literally any other mario spinnoff character could?
@@clickbait3753 that's called bad character design. A character should have unique traits, not only original things that define him from the rest of the smash cast, but from the other character choices. Because what if instead of waluigi it was someone like birdo, funky kong or a goddamn koopa troopa? Forcing a character with an unoriginal moveset just for the sake of having him in the game just proves, as I said before, what makes a bad character design
Well you just mention RPG and I do agree that Waluigi would had been a good addition to Paper Mario titles since his personality I'd so interesting. The thing is still that most Mario characters participate in the sport games. Waluigi was not meant to be the featured special character of sport games. It's just an indirect result of being ignored by Nintendo in the action games Super Mario platformers. It's not a fame but rather a shame for Waluigi. Nintendo only want the most important characters in Mario franchise, in their perspective they never mean to promote or highlight Waluigi in such a reverse/blizzard way. If we really want to support Waluigi we should ask Nintendo to do a game that give Waluigi some special spotlights that other characters don't have.
@Clickbait37 I think this is a very toxic and contradictory logic. Waluigi never got spotlights outside spin-offs is a sad thing for fans. If you're really his fans you should complain about it. How come you say that Waluigi should forever be exclusive to spin-offs!?
I think Waluigi could take a wacky moveset and make it crazier like let's say Luigi's Super Jump Punch. It's familiar to the Mario series, but the starting hit box makes it distinct and the straight upward angle makes it awkward and difficult to get back on stage horizontally. Waluigi could just borrow this exaggerate these traits (fitting to see Waluigi steal from Luigi, but put his own twist). Another weird move is Luigi's Green Missile. The move comes out of no where and is completely unexpected much like all of Waluigi's known moves in the sports series. They could als- wait... Luigi's current moveset fit Waluigi more than Luigi!
Showing siphon sonic sling snail ship sahib some | Have you seen SSF2's Waluigi trailer? They do exactly what you suggest here, and make Waluigi an even crazier Luigi. It honestly fits so well!
For his reveal trailer, it could show a montage of all new characters to ultimate, then it would pause to reveal Waluigi watching the directs on a tv, he gets furious and he bolts out of his house while the camera stays and you see him running into the horizon. It then pans back to the tv and it unpauses, it continues with the ending of a nintendo direct, but then waluigi pushes the screen out of the way while it does the splash screen that reveals fighters. But this time it is poorly made with cardboard and sloppy marker. It says WALUIGI, The True Hero Arrives or something that complements waluigi since he poorly made it. It then cuts to footage of the character fighting. I know a lot of people would do an assist trophy shattering, but I like to think waluigi does it as a job and hates it, so he forces his way in by himself when no one expects it.
Here’s an idea for his up smash: if you don’t charge it, picture pac-man’s up Smash but with a Mario party block instead. The block would go from 6-12, and the the number that shows up is how much damage you’ll do. If you get a 8, you do 8%. If you charge, however, waluigi will grab the dice block and use his pencil to draw higher number, like he did that cutscene from Mario Power Tennis. Now, it’ll be from 16(with the one drawn) to 22(with a one crossed out and a two drawn in its place).
Here are my moveset ideas and mechanics for Waluigi. So Waluigi will be a heavyweight with a weight status of 105. And he’ll be a very quick character, just as fast as Yoshi. He’ll also jump the highest in the game, jumping higher than Shulk’s jump, but he has bad air mobility. And he can crawl and wall jump. Waluigi will also be long ranged. Neutral A: His Neutral A is him punching, then he hits you with his elbow, and then kicks. This is very strong, but it’s easy to avoid. Side A: Waluigi takes out his tennis racket and serves up a tennis ball. It’s very ranged and it’s very fast, but it’s weak, very weak. It deals %1.0 of damage. Forward Smash: His forward smash is him taking out his tennis racket and swiping it forward. It fast and very power and uses a lot of range and ends up being longer than Sonics F-Smash. If you angle it down it’s a golf club. It changes the launch angle if it’s a golf club. Dash Attack: Waluigi runs and kicks forward like Mario and Luigi’s back air, then he slides on the ground like Mario’s dash attack. The kick is strong but not the slide. Neutral Special: Waluigi’s neutral special is him taking out a vine whip and hitting the opponent. Waluigi can use this to tether grab. It’s fast and ranged too. Side Special: Waluigi’s side special is him swimming towards the opponent dealing a low amount of damage, but is very fast. If you press b Waluigi can do a dive, this can spike but you never get out of the animation so doing it at the ledge is best. Down A: Waluigi does a foot slide. It’s weak and quick. But to be specific Waluigi slides on the ground like Mega Man and Cloud. Down Smash: Waluigi does a giant stomp, this can spike the opponent at the ledge and can burry the opponent. Down Special: Waluigi stomps his opponent into the ground, it’s the exact same as the assist trophy. But off stage it spikes the opponent. Up A: Waluigi does a simple uppercut. Up Smash: Waluigi hits his opponent with his head. Like Mario, Luigi, and Wario’s up smash. Up Special: Waluigi’s up special is Whirluigi. Like Wario’s up Special it has and average height, but if you mash b like Wii fits up b or Luigi’s down b you go higher. Neutral Air: Waluigi does a quick spin. Basic enough. Forward Air: Waluigi does a kick like Wario. It’s very fast like Wario’s too. Up Air: Waluigi claps hit legs together, it’s like Sonics up air, and like Wario’s up air but with his legs. Down Air: Waluigi can spike this move, it’s the exact same as Dr. Mario’s down air. Back Air: Waluigi kicks back like Mario and Luigi’s back air. Grab: Waluigi grabs his opponent. Pummel: Waluigi hits his opponent with his knee. Forward Throw: Like a tennis ball serve, Waluigi turns a character into their stock icon and then hits them with his tennis racket. Back Throw: Waluigi spins his opponents backwards and throws them, he does a pose where he points at the screen. Down Throw: Waluigi puts his opponents on the ground and stomps them into the ground. This can’t burry but this is very powerful. Up Throw: Waluigi throws his opponent and kicks them with his foot. It’s very quick and powerful. Final Smash: This works like diddy Kong and Sonic’s final smash, where he runs across the screen very quickly. But Waluigi creates bushes of vines with thorns behind him. The opponents bounce of the thorns and once Waluigi is done the thorns slowly go away. Conclusion: Waluigi is a well rounded character that is average in strength, but very fast in general. I think this fits Waluigi’s moveset. Taunts: Waluigi laughs at his opponents and points at them. His second taunt is him saying cheater while looking mad at his opponent. His third taunt is him mocking the player and saying loser. Victory Animations: Waluigi does his infoumece Crotch Chop as his first victory animation. Waluigi’s second victory animation is him doing a moonwalk and then drops his tennis racket and points up. Waluigi’s third victory animation is him spinning and then pointing at the player. Waluigi is a great character and he would work well in smash. If you have anything you disagree with, feel free to reply.
And while I whole heartedly agree with some of the concepts here (the final smash and the fact that waluigi’s shtick should be that he cheats the system) only giving him moves that reference smash itself seems like a missed opportunity. For example, if his gimmick is cheating the system AND he’s also well known for things such as the Mario sports games, you can have the best of both worlds by giving him smash attacks that use his iconic tennis racket and Strikers kicks, but make them launch at a slightly different angle each time to mess up the opponents DI Or maybe in an attempt to cheat, he’s shoddily copied other fighters techniques instead of making his own. Maybe his upsmash involves a rip-off Shoryuken but he’s renamed it the Wa-Ryuken (stupid I know) Or he pulls out a homemade version of fox’s reflector made of cardboard that works but only to a point
RunningWithScissors | Here's an idea I posted just now, although it'd require a lot of effort: In every fight, Waluigi's neutral special is a mimicry of one of his opponent's. Think Kirby, but without having to copy first.
Yes is stupid. That's the point. I'm thinking a combination of "cheating" moves and different techniques from the sports titles such as his swim attack.
Here was my idea for a down special, not an exact 4th wall break but a little nod to the competitive scene For his down special he pulls out a Mario kart item box and smashes his head into it, pulling out an item. What item? Any item. Almost anything could come out of this, now there are some limitations. Nothing insanely broken and no assist trophies or smash balls, one item at a time (using it while you already have one will result in damaging yourself) and the more you wait between uses the better items you’ll get. This wouldn’t be a nightmare to deal with when playing with items on but it would be particularly annoying when playing with items off, something the competitive scene likes to do a lot. I think his other moves should also be a combination of 4th wall breaks, flashy ridiculous attacks, and poorly copied moves from other fighters
Although that could work, Waluigi does have some constants in his movepool. He always has some dance moves or air swimming in his arsenal. Think about it; he's the main tar of Mario DDR! Might as well so something with that, along with making him...more Waluigi and viable. Time to mash EVERYTHING he has into a moveset!! After all, it does seem really unorthodox...and kinda cheating. Neutral Special: UI Lob The purple man uses his tennis racket to aim a shot on one of his opponents. The damage is bad, but it's fast and has great reach. It works like how Yoshi's Eggs do in his games, providing a very unique move to use. Things he can throw include extra life icons, the % symbol, Item Boxes & even fake Assist Trophys. No matter what it is, it's purely cosmetic. Side Special: Whirluigi It's a fusion of Aces' trick shots & the actual Whirluigi move from Power. He quickly spins a set distance, landing a powerful WAH if he stops right next to an opponent. While hard to hit, it does major damage. His Whirluigi movement itself provides Super Armor, making it a useful move for movement too. Up Special: Air Swim A Waluigi classic. The player chooses a direction for him to do a short stroke to. This can be done three times, allowing for fakeouts and to give the man a slow but effective recovery. Down Special: Curb Stomp It's just like his Assist Trophy move! He can do numerous followups depending on what button you press afterwards, like a dance combo. Final Smash: Showtime A spotlight aims on him, triggering the switching of player percentage, as you described. Bonus Notes: - If he loses, he'll angrily try freeing himself from his 2nd-8th box on the Victory Screen. - His Assist Trophy is replaced with Captain Syrup from Wario Land. - His spirits have altered names to differate them with his fighter spirit - One of his victory screens has him trapping Marth in a Assist Trophy and hitting him with his own sword, just like in the direct decomfirming him. - He's the only character who has a spiking Up Air. Swing your foes into the blast zone! - Waluigi's playstyle is focused around confusing your opponents in a Bait & Punish way. Although a bit weak and light, he has great range, recovery and a average speed.
I think a BIG reason why your movesets are so great is that you REALLY UNDERSTAND the character. The first few minutes of your videos are amazing and they both justify and set up the rest of the video in a easy to understand yet powerful manner.
My Waluigi's Attacks: Jab: He would start with a poke to a slap to a fury of attacks. Dash attack: He would Dance a moon walk or something towards his opponents. (There is a chance of him to trip. If he lands on top of some one He would do a LOT of damage. It is very punishable though.) Neutral air: Waluigi would strike a pose and each pose may vary in damage percent. (Some might Make him belly flop and cause damage to himself.) Forward air: Waluigi would try to copy Mario's Forward air but instead of his hand he does the QUICKEST FLIP and hits them with his foot. Back air: Waluigi would Smack his head against the opponent. ( Which would cause little damage to him and deal damage like Luigi's Back air) Up air: He Would pull an assist trophy upwards smashing the opponents. Down air: He uses a soccer shoe to kick them down. ( or maybe like Ganondorfs down air) Shield: His shield would inflate instead of deflate and When he shields he can grab during that time. ( Waluigi cannot move though ) Grab: He would Take a purple vine from Mario strikers and grab the opponents. Up Smash: He would do it Mario style but instead of growing his hand. He grows his head and Foot. ( This would sometimes be a multi hit move.) Side smash: He would use his Tennis Racket Down Smash: He would do his stomp thingy. ( Also if you jump right after this you have a 0.1% chance of pulling any item Crawl: He crawls like snake... Tilts: I dunno My Waluigi's Specials: Neutral: Picks up dice and throws it (From 1-10 it deals like Game and watch. But every once in a while he'll hit a 0 and knock himself out. Also he could hit an eleven where he would copy any fighters attack.) Side: He rides around in a Mario Kart Or Bike and he is able to throw it at others like Wario. (But it could break while he rides it) Down: He would slam a tennis racket/golf club/Frying pan into the ground and bury his opponents. (There is a chance of burying himself with the opponent. Also if no one is there he would hit himself every one in 10 times and knock himself out.) Up: Here Waluigi Would swim his way up in the air. If he performs this on land. Waluigi would swim up and smack down with his Club and racket. My Waluigi's Taunts: Up Taunt: He would spin around holding a rose in his mouth. (This deals damge to players that land on top) Side Taunt: Waluigi would Laugh hard pointing at his opponents. ( This would also do random small damage to players looking straight at him. INTIMIDATION!) Down Taunt: Waluigi Sits down And pulls out the assist trophy. (There is a chance for any trophy character to sit beside him.) Crouching: He lies down like dededee but has a rose in his mouth and can crawl like snake. Win screen 1: He does his pointing thrust and laughs Win Screen 2: He pulls out a piece of paper with tier list saying he is S+ tier. Win Screen 3: Calls everyone a loser and vandalises images before being taken away by Master hand or something. FINAL SMASH: He either has the negative zone or throws other assist tropbies out or something. And That's it for now
I think his move set could have a gimmick where almost all of his moves has a random effect. For example his side B could be him throwing a dice block and when it hits it displays a random number. The lower the number the less the target will be launched but the longer they’ll be stunned and the higher the number the farther they launch but they don’t get stunned as much.
And to add to the final smash, he will draw on the opponents ui icon, he might draw a mustace, give them pimples, bad hair, or look very hidious. It would stay long, but it would be like waluigi
The last DLC trailer appears. It’s the original E3 Trailer, with updated rosters with DLC and maybe even a cinematic cutscene if we’re lucky. Keen-eyed fans will still notice that the trailer doesn’t include Yoshi and Luigi. After the logo appears (and maybe the announcer can announce the name to please the fans, adding this sound clip after the opening announcement to those who buy the fighter’s pass), Yoshi will once again swallow and lay Luigi as an egg. It fades to black, leaving people confused. Suddenly, the egg cracks. The egg becomes... purple? Guess who jumps out.
and of course waluigi pinball has to be his stage where it's in a pinball machine. His classic mode theme would be fighting characters who were former assist now playable like little mac, dark samus, and isabelle assuming more assist get converted to playable in the future of the smash series.
@@mycatisexists4293 IDK probly because there is so much potential for waluigi as a smash character and he is one of the last few big nintendo alisters that wow people.
@@mycatisexists4293 I mean despite never appearing in a mainline mario game other than cameos like mario maker, mario odyssey, nintendo land, minecraft, kingdom battle, ect. He is a very popular character and ussually is a consistant show up in the show up games and was even the main antagonist of Mario Party 3 and Mario DDR Remix. Plus if he got added you'd be able to have a 4 player battle with Mario Luigi Wario and Waluigi.
Instead of just throwing U.I icons at your opponent’s percentage, what if when waluigi pressed Neutral special, a DDR “bar” (you know, that thing where a direction comes scrolling up?) would appear on top of your opponents U.I icon, and directions would star going up. If waluigi taunted in that direction, he would deal minor damage to the opponent. If he missed, the move would stop, and he would be automatically do an un-cancellable taunt that lasts for about 1 second where he cries. And if he wanted to cancel the move, you would need to miss. The move would come out relatively fast though, and maybe if waluigi got 15 notes in a row he’d enter a “Super mode” where instead of taunting, he would press the directions. He would be able to do enhanced attacks and have a superstar, but it would ultimately be very weak, as not only it ended after 5 seconds, but the direction you were going is determined by RNG. If you missed a direction while in middair, you’d execute a faster taunt when you landed. And of course, the animation for superstar mode would have a rose. This would only work if waluigi had cancellable taunts like Bayonetta though.
for the stock move, it would be funny if waluigi's stocks would appear on the character he threw it at. like, he threw it, and now one of the opponent's stocks looks like that of waluigi. do it three times, and all of their stocks look like waluigi's. keep doing it, and waluigi's stocks will keep adding to the opponents, but they don't actually do anything. they just make your opponent unable to see their stock total. and if it's a time match, this would still work.
Here's an idea to make Waluigi Viable! risk and reward! Many of waluigi's move will have a rare chance to backfire on HIM. Attacks - Mostly some Kicks and punches, though his Dash is still a moonwalk that instead pulls the opponent with Waluigi before he lands a little smack for some knockback. Ariels - Will usually Waluigi trying to Strick a pose while flailing around Dodges - Waluigi will bust a move-out and avoid the attack (Sometimes he will trip for minimal damage onto himself, but he gets up immediately) Throws: Waluigi just tries to go for fancy chucks. I.E slam dunk for down throw (Sometimes will fail and drop opponent onto him, doing damage to both) Specials: neutral: Waluigi charges to launch a 'ol tennis ball at the opponent (Sometimes accidentally hits a bomb and deals heafty damage to him and anyone close by) Side: Waluigi swims through the air and does some damage to hit opponents (Can Swim into imaginary objects and completely halt progress with special fall) Down: a counter move where Waluigi does his iconic twirl and slams the opponents into "ground" (Waluigi may stumble a bit and leave himself open to an attack if hit quickly) up: Hops upward as he tries to violently flail a thorned whip, it can be angled and grab ledges (Will sometimes pull out whip backwards causing damage and reducing grapple hitbox) Final: Waluigi has 4 choices depending on the B used, all references to different machines he's used (for the sake of consistency, no chance of failure on hit) Neutral: Waluigi goes for a kick and if it lands, sends the opponent into a pinball machine as Waluigi launches a ton of balls at them (smallest hitbox, Strongest smash) Side: Waluigi pulls out the bob-omb launcher from Power Tennis' intro and lobbies a bunch of bombs everywhere (Lowest knockback, Highest Damage Down: Waluigi boots up his kart and begins to let opponents get caught as he blows the car's engine sending him flying up and his opponents scattering. (some self-inflicted damage, biggest hitbox) up: Waluigi grabs his dunker from Basketball and runs across the stage to grab an opponent, then starts juggling them around before a hearty toss. (Lowest Damage, highest knockback) Taunts Normal: A little poke and laughing Side: A little SALSA! Down: A crotch chop and heckling
My Christ, I like this guy already, not only he makes his art in a CupHead like style, but he also imagines characters in smash bros. and make move sets for them...instant sub.
YES THIS IS EXACTLY WHAT IVE BEEN THINKING THEY SHOULD DO. I even got the idea for him to manually spin the percents up of the opponents for a final smash from deadpool super in MVC3! Hats off to you my good man
Waluigi's outfits should all be different and change exactly one(1) of his moves. *Main, Plummer*: tennis racket side smash that can occasionally be a golf club (think Peach's) *Aces*: Up special turns into a giant rose that misses a lot of the time unless timed right (when timed right, it does something ridiculous each time; e.g. add 300 to the opponent's percentage, send YOU flying, Killing the target & YOU instantaneously, moving whatever character's picture and percentage to the top of the screen. *Strikers*: regular B turns into a soccer ball and randomly heals or hurts the opponent's percentage by ludicrous numbers determined by the number of and letters/#s included in your player name. *Mario Maker*: down special has him slam down as an amiibo (like Kirby's sort of, but he can't pull out of it until he lands or misses the stage), can throw the "plate" underneath him once (but it travels a really short distance or it's a really slow moving projectile that doesn't stop if someone bumps into it), does about as much damage as ROBs spinner when thrown. *Tennis*: Final Smash resembles what the 3ds Nikki Mii assist trophy does, but it sends the foes flying solely based on player input. *Luigi colors*: dash attack has a flare to it but barely does anymore damage than it usually did (or less damage than it would normally, or could inflect minor damage to Waluigi's b/c of the rose between his teeth - he might be able to heal slightly from eating it but it hurts him more than it heals)
I always believed that building a moveset for Waluigi entirely around sports props and one-off abilities would not only be really boring, but be a poor representation of what Waluigi's character actually is and can do. And I don't think he should "represent" the Mario spin-offs, because frankly, I think Waluigi should just represent himself. You are right that the chaotic element of his character and him always bringing something unique each time in desperate attempts to cheat and win is an integral part of who he is. And the idea that his moveset is based around who he is as a character and what kind of dastardly shenanigans he would get up to in order to cheat and win in Smash Bros is something I wholeheartedly approve of. I don't entirely agree with the assessment that all of his abilities displayed are random and different in each game and that makes them worthless and inconsistent. You can find reocurring elements like his nimble acrobatics, over the top flamboyant moves, his skills in robotics and machinery, his predilection for traps and weapons over physical aggression, the Wrecking Crew inspirations, him being a cunning trickster to counter Wario's brutish strength, and the fact that most of his appearences give him a skill-based defensive/tactical playstyle, occasionally with some gimmicks and gambles that set him apart from other characters (his batting/pitching stats in the Baseball series, his high risk/reward special dices in Mario Party, him being the only character in the Olympic games with a perfect Skill stat counteracted by all his other stats being mediocre). I think Waluigi's character has more than enough to build an interesting play style without designating him as the de facto Joke Character. But then again, that is a role that feels right for him too. And I really don't agree that so much of his moveset should be built around 4th wall breaks. I get that it's him cheating the game in the most literal ways possible but it comes too out of left field when it's something he's never done before and would be more appropriate for other characters to do instead of him. I think there are other ways to design a moveset around Waluigi's cheating without breaking the game or making him into Deadpool, because I think Waluigi's more than a glorified meme. I made my own version of a Waluigi moveset where I tried to incorporate the ideas of him being a trickster who cheats the game with unique, unwieldy mechanics and schemes to win matches. docs.google.com/document/d/1SMziR-AMTmyb-cOxC_mkwbNV-8jyWJYnPfVPcpiiOGQ/edit Really good video though, and your overall assessment of Waluigi as a character makes me really happy to see. I really, really like this character and I want more people to appreciate him too. I'm happy to subscribe for more content.
While your moveset for Waluigi is well thought and has a lot of potential, he seems a bit restricted and boring I could say. Too balanced perhaps? I think he deserves to be a bit more unfair as a character
Technically Smash fighters are supposed to represent an entire franchise, so it's not like they can only represent spin-offs or just like any character can enter for themselves. But I do think Waluigi has the potential to be special. Only if Nintendo can make use of him outside sport games.
Waluigi will only be in Smash if he's made into a nerfed glass cannon, meaning whoever is foolish enough to play him will have great difficulty in winning any matches. Think if him as Nintendo's answer to Capcom's Dan Hibiki. 😆
Here are my Waluigi would work and his moveset ideas, Waluigi will be a heavyweight character but with one downfall, he will be the lightest heavyweight. But Waluigi will be just as fast as Yoshi and will jump the highest in the game. Waluigi’s Jab will be a Punch, then an elbow hit, and a kick. Waluigi’s side tilt is him sliding his foot on the ground, it can trip the opponent but isn’t that good. His F-Smash is him taking his tennis racket and swinging it at his opponent. His dash attack is a kick toward with both of his legs, then he slides on the ground like Mario. His neutral special is him taking his tennis racket and shooting a tennis ball. His side special is him swimming towards the opponent and it can help him recover, if you press b again he does a dive, this can spike the opponent but you can die if you don’t grab a ledge or touch a platform. Waluigi’s down tilt is like Mario’s down smash but faster and weaker. His down smash is a giant stomp to the ground, it can burry the opponent and can spike at he ledge. His down special is him stomping the ground, it can also burry the opponent, and it can spike off stage. His up tilt is an uppercut. His up smash is a high kick. His up special is like Wario’s, but he grabs his leg for the animation, also if you mash the b button he will recover higher. His nair is just a spin like Wario’s. His fair is a kick like Wario’s. His up air is a leg clap like Sonics. His back air is a kick like Mario and Luigi’s back air. His down air is like doctor Mario’s down air with the spike. His grab is longer than Luigi’s grab because of his arms, he can grab enemies from long distances. His pummel is a hit with his knee. His forward throw is him throwing his opponent up in the air and hitting them with his racket, like if he’s serving s tennis ball. His back air is a spin throw with a pose at the end of it. His down throw is him putting his opponent on the ground and stomping them into the ground. His up throw is him throw his opponent and kicking them. He has an average wall jump, and his crouch walk is average too. He also has a tether recover, he takes out an old Nintendo product called the ultra hand and uses it to grab the ledge, also it could be him taking out s purple vine and grabbing the ledge, but it can be either one. But Waluigi will have bad air mobility. His first taunt is him pointing at the opponent with one hand and the other hand is him hold his knee and laughing at the opponent. His second taunt is his assist trophy entrance animation where he laughs. His third taunt is him doing a stretch. His victory pose is his crotch chop, his second victory pose is him spinning and pointing at the screen, his third victory animation is him saying take that loser while he’s doing the dance he was doing in his Mario tennis 64 victory animation. Waluigi’s final smash is like Sonics but he leaves a trail of purple thorns behind him damaging the opponent. Once he’s done Waluigi can walk around as his opponents get damaged by thorns. But the thorns stay here for a few seconds so while Waluigi’s walking around he leaves a trail of thorns behind him, and Waluigi won’t be damaged by this. This is just how I think Waluigi would work in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate. But that’s all I have to say. Please reply what you think Waluigi’s moveset should be, if you’d like to of course.

Hey man, love your videos and I just want to say these are some of the most original ideas for a moveset that I've seen!! Here's hoping at least some of it is incorporated whenever Waluigi makes his debut.
While I do like your concept and is easily the best one you’ve come up with, behind Samus’ revamp (yeah, shows you how much her design SUCKS!) I do feel he should also have a dancing motif going on for his tilts. I feel he should also use a tennis racket as a side smash. I love this concept , but I feel those should be acknowledged in his moveset. Seeing how they fit. And I think having the dancing motif throughout his moveset overall would fit his joke nature. That and the tennis racket Side Smash just fits. This concept is amazing.
This video is fantastically edited and cleanly narrated, but these recommendations do not belong in Smash at all. The kit you’ve suggested intentionally ignores Smash fundamentals for the sake of making him “different,” which, as we’ve learned from Smash 4 Bayonetta, is a recipe for disaster. You’ve compensated this by insisting that he be a garbage character that feels bad to play, yet annoying enough that he isn’t fun to play against, making him miserable for everyone. Lastly, the idea that “a kit reflecting his games would be too varied” is just... Wrong. Peach has 3 different F-smashes, each one from a different sports title. Mr. Game & Watch’s entire kit is literally made up individualized animations from ALL the games he appeared in. This is SMASH; WE HAVE A FIGHTING PLANT. If anyone should have a chaotic moveset filled with random spinoff moves, it should be the man in purple. Waluigi players don’t want a trash tier Deadpool rip off; they want the lanky, disrespectful tryhard who pelvic thrusts when he smacks you into the shadow realm. I respect you as a RUclipsr and as an editor, but you don’t know our boy. You don’t know Waluigi.
An interesting way to impliment a fourth wall breaking character, but I feel like it leans a bit too much on the fourth wall. Even if he's the jokiest of the joke characters, it still has to be somewhat balanced and fair and all of this fourth wall nonsense feels like it would result in a very un-fun character to fight against. Toying with the UI elements is a fun gimmick for maybe one move but to make his entire moveset revolve around it would be WAY too chaotic and annoying. And it may just be me, but this also feels like it would fall into the same traps Deadpool barrels into on his bad days in that the fourth wall breaks become so worn out and overdone that he becomes boring and repetitive before he even gets going. As someone who's seen and written tons of these kinds of character at one time or another, there's a THIN line between genuinely funny and genuinely annoying and introducing the fourth wall is kinda like coating the run-up to the line in industrial grade lubricant.
This is pure genius! I would like to point out that if Waluigi has a Taunt it should be his usual "Wah!" but it actually hurts opponents nearby him (similar to Luigi's Taunt). Kinda like that Smash Bros. Legacy XP Mod where Waluigi is playable.
The final smash and neutral B ideas are GREAT ideas! The rest for me was just kinda, eh. But the fact of Waluigi having a neutral B that always hits but does such little damage would be GREAT! And a final smash that switches the damage percentages around and saying some of his famous lines like "Cheater!" And "Waluigi numba wan!" Would be great! But as much as I hate to say it, Waluigi will never get in Smash. I'm sure of it.
One extra addition I’d like to make: Waluigi is one of those joke characters who seems terrible, unless you lean into his really bizarre nature. Like Don from Street Fighter, who’s attacks are pitiful, but who can spam fast, cancellable taunts to build his meter for a very powerful super move.
His final smash is just an anime girl transformation, turning him even more purple, and changing his gloves into gauntlet-like gloves. It zooms in on his hand, and he snaps. Every character gains 50% damage and Waluigi gains an assist trophy.
Dude, no offence but this entire moveset for waluigi sounds kinda dumb and out of place. I think if he were to make the roster, he should at least have a moveset based on the mario sports/party spinoffs he's appeared in over the years. But then again, I can't really see waluigi being playable at all in the future because he's not really deserving enough to have a roster spot. Also, his entire fanbase is out of control with wanting him in the game to the point where they actually need change.org to try and convince sakurai to include him. Talk about obsessive!! 😔Smdh
@@mycatisexists4293 he has.... fire! I nearly laughed reading that, not to mention you are trying to disprove us on a video COVERING HIS MOVESET. This is laughable.
It's simply that any Mario character can include sport game or spinoff references. Making Waluigi only have sport traits definitely cannot make him special. He needs moves referenced from more different games.
I have a few ideas to make a consistent moveset without breaking the fourth wall. If I don't mention a move, I either find it impossible to make it original or I don't feel like it needs more than a regular kick. One last thing, some ideas are from another person of the comment section called retroator, he made a very cool moveset too REGULAR MOVES -jab: kick upwards, leg drop, punch straight to the face (retroator) -ftilt: reverse slap -dtilt: steps back and puts his leg forward. It has z axis on the body, and the move always trips, but has really bad range -dash attack: wario's old dash attack, but at the end of the animation he sweeps his hand so there's a reason why people trip -dsmash: he stomps the ground several times before ending with a stronger stomp, just like the good old days. The multihits still bury opponents (retroator) -nair: a draw-me-like-one-of-you-french-girls pose (retroator) -uair: he turns upside down, puts his legs together and spins like a top. He ends the move by opening his legs sending opponents in a semispike angle -dair: a triple forward flip that ends with a mighty two-feet stomp. Painfully slow, but very rewarding -grab: a regular grab -pummel: a kick in the nuts -bthrow: a regular spinning back throw, but instead of letting it go, he smacks the victim to the floor. Great damage, but doesn't kill untill high percentage -uthrow: he quickly tosses the enemy up, sending in a slightly backwards angle. Kills surprisingly early. -dthrow: same animation as up throw, but ends the move by smashing them in to the ground. At kill percentages, it can kill confirm with bad DI, so you have to guess if he's gonna up throw or down throw SPECIALS: -NEUTRAL B: a purple fireball that bounces in three random directions -SIDE B: Waluigi swims forward by doing three armfuls. These armfuls throw backwards instead of forward, and the loses strength in every armful -UP B: a mediocre jump with both hands opened. If you hit an enemy during the move, waluigi used him as a platform to impulse himself upwards while spiking his foe. -DOWN B: he rides his hand to distract the enemy and finishes with a devastating kick with amazing kill power. The move mules any grounded attack to distract the enemy and leave him vulnerable, but it doesn't trap if the opponent is airborne or uses shield (although it deals great shield damage), and if the last kick finds no victim, waluigi falls helplessly to the ground. In the air, it can't trap opponents, but grants some momentum and isn't as laggy if you miss FINAL SMASH Waluigi catches opponents with a lasso and ties them to a train rail just so a giant train with his face can crush them. It's a reference to waluigi's origin, a classic villain from the 70s/80s You like the moveset? Feel free to give you opinion and tell me what do you think
This is now my favorite idea for Waluigi in Smash. I liked the idea of using the name tag on top of his head for his smash attacks, but what if instead he uses a fake final smash meter. Maybe he tried using it to manually charge his final smash, but thankfully that’s not how it works. So instead he uses it to attack. Maybe charging it up like a normal smash attack won’t change how much damage it does, but instead the meter’s charge will rapidly increase and decrease for as long as he has it out and this is what determines how powerful it is, with the very brief window where it’s at full charge making it a devastating hit. Another idea I had was where one of Waluigi’s taunts has him directly insult whoever he’s fighting. Like say he’s fighting Captain Falcon and he says: “You wanna see more, Bird Man?!” Overall, great video, and thank you to all who read all of this. Edit: He could also insult the player, like if someone is spamming a particular move he could shout: “Hey! One trick wonder! Why don’t you show some variety for a change?!”
I agree with all of the special moves, smash attacks, grabs, and taunts but I will give my thoughts for his other moves(they will be moves representing a lot of what he does throughout the Mario series). I also agree with his dash attack, but I think it should have a finishing move like Luigi's. Anyway, here you go... Normal attack: just a normal punch, punch, kick combo F tilt: he throws a Mario Party dice block forward D tilt: rides go-kart in circles( this in my opinion, could also make a great down smash) U tilt: he throws a bomb up in the air Now, the ariels... Nair: basically Mario and Luigi's nair, but more extended range;consequently, there is less damage Fair: swings tennis racket forward Bair: remember his whip from mario strikers? Well, for his bair he swings it backward Dair: a downward water bending dive ( i know it sounds like a diving spike, you know where you go downward with the spike, but it is not one of those attacks) that also spikes One last thing, I LOVE TDOD's( the duke of dorks) idea for Waluigi's final smash, but if I were to make my own, I think it would be cool for him to use that one bobomb cannon from the Mario Power Tennis openning instead. It represents his use of bombs perfectly, and it is wild enough to fit in his moveset. I hope you like all of my ideas! ;)
It’s ok. We still love you 🙏🙏🙏
For his Palutena’s guidance, Palutena says a bunch of praises to Waluigi before finding out he messed with her notes.
Venom T omg that is so in character
Or it just crashes the game because it dosent exist
LOL Bro that is hilarious.
Or she says lots of good things then the hair wig falls off and waluigi is revealed
@@mycatisexists4293 I swear you just have a hate boner for him...
His moonwalk isn't his Dash Attack, you silly!
*THAT'S HIS RUNNING ANIMATION*
Or he back dodge, but who needs that when you can just moonwalk all the time. I'd main that
It'd work much better as his roll.
Here's an idea, for his running animation, Waluigi moonwalks and faces the direction *opposite* to where he's moving and for his dash attack, he does a Michael Jackson style point/eye poke which has long range, but does pitiful damage.
If you jump when running its automatically a rar so you have to manually rar to forward air them in neutral.
Here’s an idea when he looses he dresses up as the winning character and tries to be in the victory screen before master hand, galeem or the character beat him off the stage.
In his winning animation the characters groan instead of clap and master hand is just urging to get him off.
Venom T I love this
Or he coud dress up as other characters and try to imitate their victory poses but fail.
Venom T
no you
Master hand galeem, nor the chatacter dont have to beat him up. He doesn't have to do any of that.

Ie has a bunch of nonsensical weapons that he just pulls out of thin air, though it'd mostly just be all of the Bowser inventions from the sport's games.
pyrrhickong | Here's an idea, although it'd require a lot of effort:
In every fight, Waluigi's neutral special is a mimicry of one of his opponent's.

That looks like something a different character should be able to do not Waluigi
Beholder that’s not a bad idea. Is it okay for me to put this into my comment? I don’t have a gimmick for mine.
Here's an idea, although it'd require a lot of effort:
In every fight, Waluigi's neutral special is a mimicry of one of his opponent's. Think Kirby, but without having to copy first.
And for every move he mimics it's not _exactly_ the same move, It's Waluigi's own variation of it.
What happens if kirby copies waluigi then?

A VERY interesting take on Waluigi. Definitely an neat idea. Although I feel the moveset would work better for the stupidest omission in series history: Regginator! Anyway jokes aside as I said it's a very interesting idea, and I like it.

My Personal Predictions if this happens to be an Assist Trophy Pack are:
Spring Man (duh)
Waluigi
Issac
Knuckles (with Shadow being revealed as Sonic's echo fighter at the same time)
Shovel Knight
Bomberman
If this isn't an assist trophy pack specifically, there's no telling who will get in.

This was a cool take on Waluigi in Smash, never thought of him using UI for his attacks.
@@miguelc1436 because waluigi is the most popular, daisy is already in, and was created exclusively for a spinoff, he would make the most sense.
@Clickbait37
I think this is a very toxic and contradictory logic. Waluigi never got spotlights outside spin-offs is a sad thing for fans. If you're really his fans you should complain about it. How come you say that Waluigi should forever be exclusive to spin-offs!?
I've never been a Waluigi supporter, but your ideas for him in Smash are amazing. Keep up the good work Duke.
Oh the irony.
Showing siphon sonic sling snail ship sahib some | Have you seen SSF2's Waluigi trailer? They do exactly what you suggest here, and make Waluigi an even crazier Luigi. It honestly fits so well!
Waluigi's assist trophy case should be his grab. The pummel would be Waluigi shaking the case.
I don't know why but for some reason I feel like Wario is the sans of the Mario series and Waluigi is papyrus
I know a lot of people would do an assist trophy shattering, but I like to think waluigi does it as a job and hates it, so he forces his way in by himself when no one expects it.
waluigi being random is his speciality
All of you're ideas are really unique when constructing a moveset for a character in Smash, keep it up!
Now I imagine Waluigi beating the shit out of Joker.
Neutral A:
His Neutral A is him punching, then he hits you with his elbow, and then kicks. This is very strong, but it’s easy to avoid.
Side A:
Waluigi takes out his tennis racket and serves up a tennis ball. It’s very ranged and it’s very fast, but it’s weak, very weak. It deals %1.0 of damage.
Forward Smash:
His forward smash is him taking out his tennis racket and swiping it forward. It fast and very power and uses a lot of range and ends up being longer than Sonics F-Smash. If you angle it down it’s a golf club. It changes the launch angle if it’s a golf club.
Dash Attack:
Waluigi runs and kicks forward like Mario and Luigi’s back air, then he slides on the ground like Mario’s dash attack. The kick is strong but not the slide.
Neutral Special:
Waluigi’s neutral special is him taking out a vine whip and hitting the opponent. Waluigi can use this to tether grab. It’s fast and ranged too.
Side Special:
Waluigi’s side special is him swimming towards the opponent dealing a low amount of damage, but is very fast. If you press b Waluigi can do a dive, this can spike but you never get out of the animation so doing it at the ledge is best.
Down A:
Waluigi does a foot slide. It’s weak and quick. But to be specific Waluigi slides on the ground like Mega Man and Cloud.
Down Smash:
Waluigi does a giant stomp, this can spike the opponent at the ledge and can burry the opponent.
Down Special:
Waluigi stomps his opponent into the ground, it’s the exact same as the assist trophy. But off stage it spikes the opponent.
Up A:
Waluigi does a simple uppercut.
Up Smash:
Waluigi hits his opponent with his head. Like Mario, Luigi, and Wario’s up smash.
Up Special:
Waluigi’s up special is Whirluigi. Like Wario’s up Special it has and average height, but if you mash b like Wii fits up b or Luigi’s down b you go higher.
Neutral Air:
Waluigi does a quick spin. Basic enough.
Forward Air:
Waluigi does a kick like Wario. It’s very fast like Wario’s too.
Up Air:
Waluigi claps hit legs together, it’s like Sonics up air, and like Wario’s up air but with his legs.
Down Air:
Waluigi can spike this move, it’s the exact same as Dr. Mario’s down air.
Back Air:
Waluigi kicks back like Mario and Luigi’s back air.
Grab:
Waluigi grabs his opponent.
Pummel:
Waluigi hits his opponent with his knee.
Forward Throw:
Like a tennis ball serve, Waluigi turns a character into their stock icon and then hits them with his tennis racket.
Back Throw:
Waluigi spins his opponents backwards and throws them, he does a pose where he points at the screen.
Down Throw:
Waluigi puts his opponents on the ground and stomps them into the ground. This can’t burry but this is very powerful.
Up Throw:
Waluigi throws his opponent and kicks them with his foot. It’s very quick and powerful.
Final Smash:
This works like diddy Kong and Sonic’s final smash, where he runs across the screen very quickly. But Waluigi creates bushes of vines with thorns behind him. The opponents bounce of the thorns and once Waluigi is done the thorns slowly go away.
Conclusion:
Waluigi is a well rounded character that is average in strength, but very fast in general. I think this fits Waluigi’s moveset.
Taunts:
Waluigi laughs at his opponents and points at them. His second taunt is him saying cheater while looking mad at his opponent. His third taunt is him mocking the player and saying loser.
Victory Animations:
Waluigi does his infoumece Crotch Chop as his first victory animation.
Waluigi’s second victory animation is him doing a moonwalk and then drops his tennis racket and points up. Waluigi’s third victory animation is him spinning and then pointing at the player.
Waluigi is a great character and he would work well in smash. If you have anything you disagree with, feel free to reply.
I have never seen someone more beautiful than the very concept u threw together for wah boi, Waluigu....
And while I whole heartedly agree with some of the concepts here (the final smash and the fact that waluigi’s shtick should be that he cheats the system) only giving him moves that reference smash itself seems like a missed opportunity.
For example, if his gimmick is cheating the system AND he’s also well known for things such as the Mario sports games, you can have the best of both worlds by giving him smash attacks that use his iconic tennis racket and Strikers kicks, but make them launch at a slightly different angle each time to mess up the opponents DI
Or maybe in an attempt to cheat, he’s shoddily copied other fighters techniques instead of making his own. Maybe his upsmash involves a rip-off Shoryuken but he’s renamed it the Wa-Ryuken (stupid I know)
Or he pulls out a homemade version of fox’s reflector made of cardboard that works but only to a point
Do that and allow him and only him to Wavedash like in Melee, but to balance it out also have him trip like in Brawl.
RunningWithScissors | Here's an idea I posted just now, although it'd require a lot of effort:
In every fight, Waluigi's neutral special is a mimicry of one of his opponent's. Think Kirby, but without having to copy first.
The "Wa-Ryuken" killed me. x'D
Yes is stupid. That's the point.
I'm thinking a combination of "cheating" moves and different techniques from the sports titles such as his swim attack.
Here was my idea for a down special, not an exact 4th wall break but a little nod to the competitive scene
For his down special he pulls out a Mario kart item box and smashes his head into it, pulling out an item. What item? Any item. Almost anything could come out of this,
now there are some limitations.
Neutral Special: UI Lob
The purple man uses his tennis racket to aim a shot on one of his opponents.
Side Special: Whirluigi
It's a fusion of Aces' trick shots & the actual Whirluigi move from Power. He quickly spins a set distance, landing a powerful WAH if he stops right next to an opponent. While hard to hit, it does major damage. His Whirluigi movement itself provides Super Armor, making it a useful move for movement too.
Up Special: Air Swim
A Waluigi classic. The player chooses a direction for him to do a short stroke to. This can be done three times, allowing for fakeouts and to give the man a slow but effective recovery.
Down Special: Curb Stomp
It's just like his Assist Trophy move! He can do numerous followups depending on what button you press afterwards, like a dance combo.
Final Smash: Showtime
A spotlight aims on him, triggering the switching of player percentage, as you described.
Bonus Notes:
- If he loses, he'll angrily try freeing himself from his 2nd-8th box on the Victory Screen.
- His Assist Trophy is replaced with Captain Syrup from Wario Land.
- His spirits have altered names to differate them with his fighter spirit
- One of his victory screens has him trapping Marth in a Assist Trophy and hitting him with his own sword, just like in the direct decomfirming him.
- He's the only character who has a spiking Up Air. Swing your foes into the blast zone!
- Waluigi's playstyle is focused around confusing your opponents in a Bait & Punish way. Although a bit weak and light, he has great range, recovery and a average speed.
DDR is a franchise of Konami and it is not a usable reference. We already know Smash has Konami guest character.
Pit & Dark Pit //DaBluePittoo Main tar in mario DDR? He not even playable in that game. And it not a game made by nintendo.
That Marth victory animation is amazing.
I think for his best move, I think he should wear the Master Hand like a glove and slap characters across the face with T Giant Hand of WAAAAAAA!!!
I'm upset now that this will never be real now
I think a BIG reason why your movesets are so great is that you REALLY UNDERSTAND the character. The first few minutes of your videos are amazing and they both justify and set up the rest of the video in a easy to understand yet powerful manner.
This moveset is amazing and I love the thought that you brought to this! Waluigi truly has enough moveset potential to be a fighter in Smash.
Yeah
My Waluigi's Attacks:
Jab: He would start with a poke to a slap to a fury of attacks.
Dash attack: He would Dance a moon walk or something towards his opponents. (There is a chance of him to trip. If he lands on top of some one He would do a LOT of damage. It is very punishable though.)
Neutral air: Waluigi would strike a pose and each pose may vary in damage percent. (Some might Make him belly flop and cause damage to himself.)
Forward air: Waluigi would try to copy Mario's Forward air but instead of his hand he does the QUICKEST FLIP and hits them with his foot.
Back air: Waluigi would Smack his head against the opponent. ( Which would cause little damage to him and deal damage like Luigi's Back air)
Up air: He Would pull an assist trophy upwards smashing the opponents.
Down air: He uses a soccer shoe to kick them down. ( or maybe like Ganondorfs down air)
Shield: His shield would inflate instead of deflate and When he shields he can grab during that time. ( Waluigi cannot move though )
Grab: He would Take a purple vine from Mario strikers and grab the opponents.
Up Smash: He would do it Mario style but instead of growing his hand. He grows his head and Foot. ( This would sometimes be a multi hit move.)
Side smash: He would use his Tennis Racket
Down Smash: He would do his stomp thingy. ( Also if you jump right after this you have a 0.1% chance of pulling any item
Crawl: He crawls like snake...
Tilts: I dunno
My Waluigi's Specials:
Neutral: Picks up dice and throws it (From 1-10 it deals like Game and watch. But every once in a while he'll hit a 0 and knock himself out. Also he could hit an eleven where he would copy any fighters attack.)
Side: He rides around in a Mario Kart Or Bike and he is able to throw it at others like Wario. (But it could break while he rides it)
Down: He would slam a tennis racket/golf club/Frying pan into the ground and bury his opponents. (There is a chance of burying himself with the opponent. Also if no one is there he would hit himself every one in 10 times and knock himself out.)
Up: Here Waluigi Would swim his way up in the air. If he performs this on land. Waluigi would swim up and smack down with his Club and racket.
My Waluigi's Taunts:
Up Taunt: He would spin around holding a rose in his mouth. (This deals damge to players that land on top)
Side Taunt: Waluigi would Laugh hard pointing at his opponents. ( This would also do random small damage to players looking straight at him. INTIMIDATION!)
Down Taunt: Waluigi Sits down And pulls out the assist trophy. (There is a chance for any trophy character to sit beside him.)
Crouching: He lies down like dededee but has a rose in his mouth and can crawl like snake.
Win screen 1: He does his pointing thrust and laughs
Win Screen 2: He pulls out a piece of paper with tier list saying he is S+ tier.
This is definitely not what I would have thought of, but I love it
The last DLC trailer appears.
Honestly, if Waluigi gets into smash, he has to have Snake’s forward air. It’s just the rules, I don’t make em
and of course waluigi pinball has to be his stage where it's in a pinball machine. His classic mode theme would be fighting characters who were former assist now playable like little mac, dark samus, and isabelle assuming more assist get converted to playable in the future of the smash series.
Why is there so much fan fiction here
@@mycatisexists4293 IDK probly because there is so much potential for waluigi as a smash character and he is one of the last few big nintendo alisters that wow people.
WHAT ABOUT WALUIGI IS WOWABLE
@@mycatisexists4293 not your hate, thats for sure
God, this was incredible, dude. Going for the Deadpool angle with Waluigi was a brilliant idea. Total props!

Well Isabelle and Dark Samus were assist trophy’s now there playable.
Ariels - Will usually Waluigi trying to Strick a pose while flailing around
Dodges - Waluigi will bust a move-out and avoid the attack (Sometimes he will trip for minimal damage onto himself, but he gets up immediately)
Throws: Waluigi just tries to go for fancy chucks. I.E slam dunk for down throw (Sometimes will fail and drop opponent onto him, doing damage to both)
Specials:
neutral: Waluigi charges to launch a 'ol tennis ball at the opponent (Sometimes accidentally hits a bomb and deals heafty damage to him and anyone close by)
Side: Waluigi swims through the air and does some damage to hit opponents (Can Swim into imaginary objects and completely halt progress with special fall)
Down: a counter move where Waluigi does his iconic twirl and slams the opponents into "ground" (Waluigi may stumble a bit and leave himself open to an attack if hit quickly)
up: Hops upward as he tries to violently flail a thorned whip, it can be angled and grab ledges (Will sometimes pull out whip backwards causing damage and reducing grapple hitbox)
Final: Waluigi has 4 choices depending on the B used, all references to different machines he's used (for the sake of consistency, no chance of failure on hit)
Neutral: Waluigi goes for a kick and if it lands, sends the opponent into a pinball machine as Waluigi launches a ton of balls at them (smallest hitbox, Strongest smash)
Side: Waluigi pulls out the bob-omb launcher from Power Tennis' intro and lobbies a bunch of bombs everywhere (Lowest knockback, Highest Damage
Down: Waluigi boots up his kart and begins to let opponents get caught as he blows the car's engine sending him flying up and his opponents scattering. (some self-inflicted damage, biggest hitbox)
up: Waluigi grabs his dunker from Basketball and runs across the stage to grab an opponent, then starts juggling them around before a hearty toss. (Lowest Damage, highest knockback)
Taunts
Normal: A little poke and laughing
Side: A little SALSA!
Down: A crotch chop and heckling
This man is a genious
I still want that megastrike from mario strikers charged tho
"Ah, Waluigi... The eternal underdog, the man who loves himself because no one else will!"
I dont think so...
In an alternate universe somewhere
Pros: Waluigi is low teir.
*Waluigi appears many times over nevertheless*
My Christ, I like this guy already, not only he makes his art in a CupHead like style, but he also imagines characters in smash bros. and make move sets for them...instant sub.
Waluigi should be voiced by Ryan Reynolds
HE FORGOT THE TAUNTS
YES THIS IS EXACTLY WHAT IVE BEEN THINKING THEY SHOULD DO.
I even got the idea for him to manually spin the percents up of the opponents for a final smash from deadpool super in MVC3!
Hats off to you my good man
Waluigi's outfits should all be different and change exactly one(1) of his moves.
*Main, Plummer*: tennis racket side smash that can occasionally be a golf club (think Peach's)
*Aces*: Up special turns into a giant rose that misses a lot of the time unless timed right (when timed right, it does something ridiculous each time; e.g. add 300 to the opponent's percentage, send YOU flying, Killing the target & YOU instantaneously, moving whatever character's picture and percentage to the top of the screen.

Really good video though, and your overall assessment of Waluigi as a character makes me really happy to see. I really, really like this character and I want more people to appreciate him too.
I'm happy to subscribe for more content.
Beauty.
Alas all this effort for what a pointless sad long armed freak of a man who is idiotic for thinking he was anything special in the first place
K
Now just give him a up-air that spikes.
*Oh wait! thanks smash flash 2.*
wait relax alax is bring back know your moves!!?!?!?!?!?
Yup! Coming soonish, once we all can drag ourselves away from Smash Ultimate long enough to actually get work done
The Duke of Dorks Yeah, it's becoming easier for me, since I finished World of Light. Have you?
This is such a bizarre take. I kind of like it even if it makes no sense.
This Is too out there he's not deadpool
Ikr
But he is Waluigi, you cant really change his character. But if you want a boring spinoff moveset, you do you.
This is literally the most clever concept for a smash character I’ve seen.

@@mycatisexists4293 That's just their opinion tbh.
In your tier list, the meme tier should also have *T H E D O N G*
Better then nothing I supposed.
0:42 wait nobody told me that Waluigi had hermit purple
I just realized thay as well. Waluigi is a JoJo!?
I THINK THE SPEICAL UP ATTCK SHOULD HAVE HIM SWIM UPWARDS.YEAH THATS RIGHT, SWIMMING IN MID AIR like a cartoon, tell me what you think
I always imagined waluigi as a speedy bruiser. he hits fast and hard. But as soon as you hit him, he becomes combo bait instantly
I love how you played bonetrousle for the greatest WAHLUIGI
i never wanted waluigi in smash..... now i do
Well the concern is Nintendo never want it.
This is pure genius! I would like to point out that if Waluigi has a Taunt it should be his usual "Wah!" but it actually hurts opponents nearby him (similar to Luigi's Taunt). Kinda like that Smash Bros. Legacy XP Mod where Waluigi is playable.
I prefer Wario and Waluigi over Mario and Luigi.
Same
U lookin like wario
Waluigi doesn't even clap when he loses. He just throws a little temper tantrum and walks out of frame.
Where can I buy the Holy Book of Wah?
Throwing his shield at the opponent when shield-dancing would be a nice touch.
I like this
As soon as you said 'cheats', I love it. Then you have the final smash, which is *awesome*, and then, everything. Now I want him in even more.
Eh could just use his smash infinite moveset, its pretty good and has alot of mixup game, but i do like the deadpool of smash being waluigi.
Sees thumbnail
Cuphead for smash bros ultimate
No offence but these seem more like a sans moveset, just a little bit
😔Smdh
People still drop the "deserving" card in 2019, the year of the Piranha Plant? Yikes. You gotta get with the times man
Except pihrana plant has been in more games has has more defining features like
Fire
Poison
Spikes
Spike balls
Extending neck
Sharp teeth
Ect
And waliuigi has
Tennis
Dice
Arms
Can breathe
Really deserves it
@@mycatisexists4293 he has....
1:15 I know we're supposed to be looking at Waluigi here, but my god, Dry Bones is just fantastic!
Final smash: he goes into his tennis outfit and wacks you with his tennis racketeering
I have a few ideas to make a consistent moveset without breaking the fourth wall. If I don't mention a move, I either find it impossible to make it original or I don't feel like it needs more than a regular kick. One last thing, some ideas are from another person of the comment section called retroator, he made a very cool moveset too
REGULAR MOVES
-jab: kick upwards, leg drop, punch straight to the face (retroator)
-ftilt: reverse slap
-dtilt: steps back and puts his leg forward. It has z axis on the body, and the move always trips, but has really bad range
-dash attack: wario's old dash attack, but at the end of the animation he sweeps his hand so there's a reason why people trip
-dsmash: he stomps the ground several times before ending with a stronger stomp, just like the good old days. The multihits still bury opponents (retroator)
-nair: a draw-me-like-one-of-you-french-girls pose (retroator)
-uair: he turns upside down, puts his legs together and spins like a top. He ends the move by opening his legs sending opponents in a semispike angle
-dair: a triple forward flip that ends with a mighty two-feet stomp. Painfully slow, but very rewarding
-grab: a regular grab
-pummel: a kick in the nuts
-bthrow: a regular spinning back throw, but instead of letting it go, he smacks the victim to the floor. Great damage, but doesn't kill untill high percentage
-uthrow: he quickly tosses the enemy up, sending in a slightly backwards angle. Kills surprisingly early.
-dthrow: same animation as up throw, but ends the move by smashing them in to the ground. At kill percentages, it can kill confirm with bad DI, so you have to guess if he's gonna up throw or down throw
SPECIALS:
-NEUTRAL B: a purple fireball that bounces in three random directions
-SIDE B: Waluigi swims forward by doing three armfuls. These armfuls throw backwards instead of forward, and the loses strength in every armful
-UP B: a mediocre jump with both hands opened.
In the air, it can't trap opponents, but grants some momentum and isn't as laggy if you miss
FINAL SMASH
Waluigi catches opponents with a lasso and ties them to a train rail just so a giant train with his face can crush them. It's a reference to waluigi's origin, a classic villain from the 70s/80s
You like the moveset?
Like say he’s fighting Captain Falcon and he says: “You wanna see more, Bird Man?!”
Overall, great video, and thank you to all who read all of this.
Normal attack: just a normal punch, punch, kick combo
F tilt: he throws a Mario Party dice block forward
D tilt: rides go-kart in circles( this in my opinion, could also make a great down smash)
U tilt: he throws a bomb up in the air
Now, the ariels...
Nair: basically Mario and Luigi's nair, but more extended range;consequently, there is less damage
Fair: swings tennis racket forward
Bair: remember his whip from mario strikers? Well, for his bair he swings it backward
Dair: a downward water bending dive ( i know it sounds like a diving spike, you know where you go downward with the spike, but it is not one of those attacks) that also spikes
One last thing, I LOVE TDOD's( the duke of dorks) idea for Waluigi's final smash, but if I were to make my own, I think it would be cool for him to use that one bobomb cannon from the Mario Power Tennis openning instead. It represents his use of bombs perfectly, and it is wild enough to fit in his moveset.
I hope you like all of my ideas! ;)
0:50 is that the terraria gravestone?
He's gonna be number WAH.
Perfect way for WALUIGI to get in.
Waluigi: Waluigi's is not a Deadpool fighter, he is nothing like Deadpool.
This is one of the best things I have ever heard, great concept video!
up b: swimming in air (he has a number of 5 swims before falling)side smash: waaaaa-ket (like peachs but allways uses his rackit
