  • This is part 2 of our camping trip this past Fall 2020. We spent 3 days at Castle Lake Campground near Lake City. We rode our Can Am Maverick X3 along the Alpine Loop over Cinnamon Pass to Silverton, CO. During this trip we didn't do the full loop as our goal was to spend time in American Basin and in Silverton CO.

Awesome video. I have a lot of family history in Silverton, so I look for any excuse to go there. Now I'm feeling the itch!

Oh very cool! The Silverton/Lake City area makes our yearly "excuse" its such an amazing area with so much history.
Sounds like Silverton has been going back and forth on continuing to allow OHVs, hopefully they keep us around :)

@@adventurewithryanandcrystal from what I hear, the mayor is...... well, not someone I'd get along with. I'll just say that lol... So, I wouldn't be surprised if he did ban sxs's

Any idea how many miles you’re putting on these trips? And when you went through Silverton, doe they have designated UTV routes or is your Can Am considered street legal in CO?

I think we did about 70 miles on this trip. We probably average 50 - 80 miles and take a lot of breaks to just enjoy the scenery.
Silverton has a designated UTV route, basically the main road and a parallel side road. Unfortunately, CO doesn't recognize street legal UTVs. It is certainly worth the visit, we'll be back!

Really cool video! Love the drone shots - going through that valley by the river with the snow capped mountains in the background 🤯

Hey guys, great video. How did you like your experience at Castle Lakes? I'm staying at tent campsite 46 this summer with the family. I haven't seen any pics or video of the campsite, and just wondering what your thoughts were on that particular site? Any intel or advice would be appreciated.
    Keep up the good content?

Oh Thank you! Glad you enjoyed it!
Castle Lakes was a great place to stay, super friendly folks, very clean facilities. We will definitely be back! They have a couple of camp sites, not sure if you caught it in the video, but we were at site 44. All the camp sites are in the same area, so your site will look really similar to ours, nestled in the aspen trees. Site 44 and 45 kind of share a "driveway". Site 46 has its own. All of them are directly across from the lake with walking trails and fishing. You will have a great trip! Let us know how it goes :)
