@@professorboots definitely! And you could have the tilt button set the zero point for loading and unloading operations! Such a fun project :) also, I was told on Friday that we have a mutual friend that I work with!
If I had to explain to my family, why I enjoyed so much watching a grown ass guy, driving a miniature skid steer with FPV, loading tiny plastic pallets onto a small plastic warehouse shelf, they won’t understand 😂 Thanks for the great content. Looking forward to the dump truck and shenanigans you come with. (Still hoping the kit is available for outside the US at some point 🥲)
OK, so the next step is internet control of the MiniSkidi. Person A and person B set up a mini-warehouse with a MiniSkidi. Person A controls the MiniSkidi in person B's warehouse and vice versa. Then you run a challenge to see who can stack all the pallets first. The game goes national, then global. You retire rich, after figuring out to monetize this game. Following that, develop some AI using a vision system to have the MiniSkidi stack the pallets.
If a server hosted a TCP socket server and the machines connected to it, with different remotes also connected to the server, you could just run a server out on the web somewhere and have people connect to it to join the game
Your controls are very similar to those of the John Deere Skiddy I use at work. Left hand joystick is your movement control (forward, back, turn) and right hand joystick is bucket control. Pulling back raises the boom, left tilts the bucket/forks up, right dumps, and forward lowers the boom. Pretty sweet build for sure
Maybe add a little bit of a low-pass filter to the keyboard inputs to make the motions less jerky and make it easier to perform slower motions by modulating how often you tap or how long the taps are?
I would love it if you got a pair of HDZero goggles and used the head tracking to add pan/tilt functionality to the camera system! That would be amazing. There is probably a better system than pan/tilt, and other goggles probably support head tracking too, but I think you get the suggestion here.
I just got my electronics kit in the mail yesterday and I"m currently printing the parts! Definitely going to make the dump truck too. I am fairly new to microcontrollers/electronics and can do basic coding (mostly because I took a few classes in college years ago). I wouldn't mind a video walk through of the code, especially focused on the web page hosting and interaction. I've browsed your source code file and get lost tying to fully understand the web socket portion.
I will definitely keep that in mind when looking at videos to make in the future. The code would definitely be hard to grasp without a deeper explanation especially the web socket portion as it’s been arduino-ized haha.
Hey my Dude, I love this build its wild. are you posting stls on thangs? Also where can I see the research on skid steer and have you thought about a skitter?
Great video. This is exactly what I meant with a forklift design. How is the miniskidi performing going uphill? Can it bring a load up a ramp? Can it build a pyramid?
Thank you! The skidi can go up a small Incline but the main restraining factor would be the grippiness of the tires. Def could build a pyramid with enough patience haha
I need a tiny skid steer. Very very cool. I'd like something relatively realistic, but not $1200 and so hyper realistic is only works in actual scale scenarios..... (RC4WD/TUCAN HOBBY). Ive been making genaric FPV systems from this cheap IOS cams forever, and some actually are pretty good. Spectrum/fatshark USED TO offer a nicer version that you could get x2/$40 but they are discontinued.
Sounds a whole lot like storage wars from the RCsparks channel. NOT A BAD THING. Does the arduino come with it? Or can i use a regular controller with mixing?
Is there any way that we can get this to pair with a PS4 controller or something. That would give much better control. The phone control is a little clunky
Yeah pairing the esp32 to a ps2/4 controller is actually super straight forward. There’s a couple pre made libraries that can be utilized to configure it. I’ll work on making that an option in the future
Hi mate. Any tips on how to print the drive shafts? I’m trying PLA and PETG but both stat very fragile, impossible to put the wheel without break it. Tried with more flow, different speeds… but same result. Any tips? Thanks for your job!
Hello, I actually just updated the drive system to fix this very problem. It will require downloading the new parts off of printables but the main housing and drive shafts together are way stronger. Also consider printing out the new 4.0 drive belt.
„Shipping not available for selected address“. Need help. I wanted to order „required soldering“ option to Germany, but I can’t. Where can I get the PCB gerber files (will pay for it), so I can order it somewhere in my region and I also need the BOM for manual ordering. 🤔
The latency is actually really good on this setup, and the controls are less intuitive than you would think on a normal rc controller with this many things to control
Someone needs to fork the MiniSkidi code and add PS3 and PS4 controller support to it. That someone might be me if I get a wild hair up my ass in the next few weeks, but if someone wants to beat me to it I won't complain. Edit: Didn't realize that you are "Mr. MiniSkidi", you should add controller support or are you cool with me actually forking the code?
This channel is criminally underrated, keep up the awesome work
You need to ship to Canada! So awesome!
Hell yea! You need a “fork lift” mode so that the forks are always parallel with the ground! Looks like so much fun!
That would certainly make the skidioperator life easier haha
@@professorboots definitely! And you could have the tilt button set the zero point for loading and unloading operations! Such a fun project :) also, I was told on Friday that we have a mutual friend that I work with!
You look like every Jonas Brother put together into one person…….SUBSCRIBED!
Bro took work-from-home to a whole new level 😭

I like where your heads at! I’ll work on developing the National rules and guidelines for the miniskidi warehouse challenge haha

Man, each video I see of yours just gets better and better. So much fun to watch. Keep it up!
I bought two because I stupidly thought I could solder... haha.. I cannot wait to get it finished up!
Damn, how is this guy just on 8k. Most underrated channel ever!
Love this series!
Dang this is sick! Obviously the next step in any rc project is fpv XD
Haha right! It’s truly the only logical thing to do.
I made a print for one of those cameras that also uses a small fan to keep it cool. I need this mini skid
We need this in the UK
Everything should be FPV!!
Agreed!
I think I’m about to order the electronics kit. This is so “sicc” and “legit”. 😂 Seriously though thanks for this.
Nice. I have a little over a dozen drones myself, and quite a few are tiny whoops. Got a bunch of spare camers. I can see that being a lot of fun.
AWESOME JUST PLACED AN ORDER CANT WAIT
Thank you for supporting the channel!
Just a tip, exporting step files from SolidWorks for import into Bambu Studio will yeld better circular features over STL imports.
Bro your projects are very inspiring now I am planing to make this one
I don't know what it is about your rc skid loader, but it looks better than store bought
Haha thank you, maybe it’s the cartoony look
@@professorboots whatever it is, congrats
and now I need one too - and the mini warehouse too
With the forks, now I want this *so* much.
Makes me wish I had some of the fpv stuff. Could be a fun thing to set up at some kind of convention.
Maybe add a little bit of a low-pass filter to the keyboard inputs to make the motions less jerky and make it easier to perform slower motions by modulating how often you tap or how long the taps are?
Dude! This is awesome! I'd love to see a mini forklift!
you can use 2 fpv cam for rear and front view.. just use same channel and use power switching..
Ohhh that’s an excellent idea!
You used my suggestion! Awesome
Why of course!
I was looking for something like this to do with my little one. Thanks. I'm going to read the code to see if I can get the rust out of my brain. 😂❤

I got one of those but I ended up getting the foxeer run can and it is 1200 tvl and it has great color and no fuzziness.
Antman would be so happy to see this
Do a tiny bit of inverse kinematic to make the bucket stay at a fixed "incline". Nice work :D
after dump truck it's got to be a proper fork lift, so that it's more acurate than flipping loads over the top of the vehicle
Whaaaaaat are you saying the miniskidi isn’t a natural warehouse loading machine?! Nah you’re pry right I have plans on doing an actual forklift
grate job
You should include head tracker!!
He's Forklift Certified!

Nearly 8k subs!
So sick !
Pls can I know the app u are using for designing your mini skiddy

Could the board be redesigned to use an esp32-cam and then integrate the video feed into the webpage?
Sweet. Add some smoothing/ramping to your servo code though.
Hmm. Mini FPV Forklift next??!
You should make it third person almost Birds Eye view, then you could use the claw, and probably get motion sick
Love the concept. Any way I can add a receiver to this and use my elrs tx for this? Or a Bluetooth Xbox controller?
Yeah absolutely, there’s a couple arduino libraries that make it really easy to bind to a console controller
Ive been wanting to do this I can print everything but i just need your custom PCB is their anyway i could just get that separately?

I dont know if you know this but some skidsteers use tracks you should look it up and try and replicate a set
Definitely on the bucket list!
I am curious what the backorder time is for the unsoldered electronics kit?
bro can u make mini fpv drone😍😍
