I've built 2 VTOL planes, EPO kits with add-on VTOL hardware. The Ranger and Atlus are easy to put together, and my time investment was minimal. But even so, there's that moment when you transition from Vertical to Horizontal flight modes that makes everything clench up! I can't imagine the glute fatigue when doing the same with a plane I'd spent 100's of hours assembling! You two are Men of Steel! Great work! With German engineering and Australian tenacity, I'll bet this thing can knock back a couple VB's, cigarette in mouth, and still be able to solve Pi to 200 places.
It’s been a long road but both Rene and I are super happy and have to extend a huge thankyou to David for the flight programming! Been a super team effort and a most satisfying outcome!
Fantastic! Amazing! Now just make it larger so it can fly longer with one battery for VTOL and one for thrust. Also add wheels to the landing gear so a rolling takeoff is possible. This would allow for the VTOL battery to almost gone or the thrust battery then you will have a choice of runway landing or VTOL landing.
The JRM-01V50 is a perfect entry to VTOL. It is easy to build and reliable. The costs are super moderate for all components. Bigger jets will come, but costs rise exponentially.
Does the files to buy include the dif files for the INav and setup instructions? Any plans to have a Discord group or a place for support? I’m ready to buy and build!!
Of course the diff will be provided. We will also write an instruction how to set up the flight controller and connect everything together. A discord group is a great idea!
Absolutely beautiful! I've been watching for a long time and I cant wait to print my own! Rofl but I'm still struggling on getting my printer dialed in on printing the Polymaker lw-pla, I know its not the active foaming but that's why I chose it because it's supposed to be easier to dial in but not for this old guy haha. Amazing design!
That just has to be my next winter project. Do you include the bill of materials, manuals etc after the purchase on your site? I want to be sure I’ll be able to find all the electronics, looks like a complex plane :)
That's good to hear. World be great if you say something to printing the parts and glueing the parts together. Never done this before. Baught a Bambulab P1S for this project
Hi Rene'! Superlative work! It is funny but I was just starting to search for fans quite similar to the ones in your wings, for a project I have started. Can I impose and ask what brand those wing fans are and where I might get them? TIA
@renerosentraeger Jo hab auch einen Bambu aber meinte jetzt weniger das drucken am sich als das konstruieren und die Programmiererei der Controller. Ich nehme an ihr seid auch Segelflieger?
I was sceptic in the beginning because of the specific weight of 3D printed parts. There will be a significant difference comparing it to foam, carbon, balsa and other conservative materials used in RC modelling. Finally it seems to be a question of power. If there is enough you can even stones make flying. Are there other opinions? I am open minded to find out the mystery of this project. Nevertheless the protagonist showed that one can make things possible which seem impossible when the idea comes up. 👍👍👍
The specific weight of 3D printed parts is based on the material being printed. We used Active foaming LIght Weight PLA. It is essentially a foamed 3D printed set of components glued together to get a lightweight airframe with some fine carbon rods for stiffness and strength internally.
@@marcphilippveenendaal4394 Thanks for clearing up. Never heard of that special kind of PLA. I will look it up. I currently print PETG only, but it is for parts which are not intended to fly. 🙂
Oh it’s more than just print files…printer settings, detailed 90 step PDF assembly instructions, additional accessories, painting templates and mask files, support stand files, clickable PDF parts list and general notes, control surface setting jig files and flight controller programming settings….
Well done! Quick question though: is there a list of components available before purchase somewhere to get an idea about the total cost? :D
Here is a parts list: aerojtp.com/s/aero-jtp/:PDF_Downloads

Seeing it transition from forward flight to hover is extremely satisfying
Absolutely 🎉

A thing of absolute beauty!! Congratulations and your tenacity is unbelievable!
Been following this project for a while, awesome job! So cool to see this come to life
Thanks for your interest! Rene and I are super happy with the results!
What a cool plane! Good job
Magnificent job! Kudos!. I would love to build it.
They are flying in Windows XP desktop
Took some time to arrange everything correct again.
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

Damn it I literally came here to say that exact same thing😂
True bro😂
Congrats...awesome engineering

awesome plane thanks for sharing the stl files :)

@JohanFasth-w4r ja aber verständlich bei dem aufwand
Hope you enjoy them!
Is it possible to add GPS and TOF sensors for position hold and landing smoothly?
Yes
Amazing, Congrats.

Incredible build my friend. By far my best vtol ive seen to date. Congratulations 🎉🎉
Thx🤙

lmk if you need any help I have mine printing in pretty good quality, currently making a c-17 out of it.
If you can get a bambulab printer, everything becomes easy. Even Lwpla.
Very cool plane and video!
OUTSTANDING ✌🏾 ❤
Pure ART !
Awesome! Cant wait to download mine! Any plans of building a vtol 70mm? That than still launch cruise missiles?
Not yet.
Congratulations Rene and Mark. Fabulous innovation, design and build
Thanks for the kind words!
Amazing!
Thanks!
I’m not sure but you guys seem to be way ahead of the pack
Bravo Renè!
freakin awesome!
Amazing project brother
Super, super super! 😃
Can it be mixed so that not so much altitude is lost during transition from hover to forward flight? Beautiful engineering and aircraft!
Yes, like I explained in the video, the four lift engines should run some seconds longer and I have to stop pitching forward while transition😅🤙
Full gaz!
Tip: Views with some ground or top down would help to see the plane speed and height especially during transitions.
Damn, five minutes of hover is just ridiculously long on a vtol
Very Impressive
Why have the edfs rotate? is it needed for hover? Awesome build!
Yes, the extra thrust is needed.
Will the micro cruisers be compatible with this model?
They are for the JRM-01 C70
Hut ab!
Lockheed Martin 😁
We await patiently 😉
@marcphilippveenendaal4394 excellent

Is a forum existing where some things can be discussed, f.e. filaments, slicersettings, flightcontroller etc. ?
The next video will be a dedicated tutorial and the comments can be used for discussion.

does this support the micro drones?

+1 for micro cruiser support :)

Are you using fusion 360??
No, I use SolidWorks and build and construct in solids and surface modelling for our collaborative project.
Ihr Flugzeugstart weckte Erinnerungen an Windows XP 2006
😂
My thoughts exactly
I remember this being one of the planes in a bullet hell shooter. Maybe it was Raiden II?
I don't know how to adjust parameters, is it recommended for a novice to buy it?
Dedicated tutorials will follow where I show everything. So no problem for a beginner

why don't we print with polypropylene

Modern core XY printer like the bambulab make this possible and there's still some Carbon inside 😅🤙
