    Ingredients | Measurements (g=grams) |
For the "Water-Steam Distillation" process, I used 2 to 3 roses & did not measure the water. Approx. 1 cup of distilled water. (It yielded approx. 2 oz of Rose Hydrosol & 1.7 oz of Rose infused water)
    DIY ROSE HYDROSOL with Preservative:
    - 29.72 g | Rose Hydrosol
    - 0.60 g | 2% preservative: Leucidal Liquid SF MAX
DIY ROSE infused Water with Preservative:
    - 47.36 g | Rose infused water
    - 0.99 g | 2% preservative: Leucidal Liquid SF MAX

    ---------------------
    FAQ:
    1. Should I add a preservative to the Rose infused water?
    Answer: YES, PERIODT 😊
Reason: Bacteria, Mold, Fungus in your hair, on your face, on your body! EWWW. Refrigeration will NOT preserve your product. Nasties start growing within 24 hours even when refrigerated. However, please refrigerate if you do not use a preservative at your own risk.
1 1/2. Should I add preservative to the Rose Hydrosol?
Answer: To be determined. I did. However, I am testing one without a preservative to see. Most believe that the water-steam distillation sterilizes the hydrosol and therefore it does not need a preservative.
**NOTE: Anytime I purchase hydrosols from a supplier, they come with preservatives. I hope this helps.

@@HaloHighlightz sorry for the late response, I don't always get notification for some reason.
The rose water lasts for months, I didn't add any preservatives just left it in the fridge every day but I did add a tiny bit of citric acid towards the end to see if it would last even longer than the time I have had it so far or if it was ruined since its much later that I'm adding it (changes the flavour a little bit lol) but please clean your bottle like mad before putting it in, it's drinkable as well. And was nice on my hair as well. Since she mentioned that bacteria can immediately start growing in the tea, I don't have any other preservatives and wasn't sure what I was gonna do with it yet so I froze it and decided to put a cube or 2 in my herbal tea which I drink every night (I've kinda slipped out of that routine but slowly getting into it again lol) and didn't ruin the flavour or my recipe

Great video! You could also do this with herbs and flowers think mint (yum), chamomile, calendula, rosemary, etc. Which would make lovely hydrosols and teas! I've done the rose and lavender because I have a summer garden full of English roses and lavender. I want to try sweet peas and the blooms off my wisteria vine because they smell so gorgeous! Thanks for the question. First preserve with Euxly 9010 for your infusion. The sooner you can put it in products the better. It is best to keep your Rosemary infusion in the fridge.. I have found mine lasts up to 9 months that wY. Most infusions last a year if properly preserved and kept in the fridge. Bare in mind you want to give the people who buy your products to have the freshest you can provide. So, I make mine on a constant rotating basis. I deal in a lot of products and mine moves quickly! Thank you and yes. Just make sure the flowers have time to hydrate. You can even soak them in distilled water first. 💜😊

Does theses ingredients help keep the color? I made some rose water a couple days ago and the rose water has changed colors. I didn't use distilled water so that might have been the reason but I don't know.

For the destilated rose water you don't need preservative. It can stay for years

In the future, maybe a new Turkey baster would help extract the rose hydrosol from the hot bowl faster? And maybe easier as well? I'm not trying to be rude I just thought it'd be a good idea? Maybe you can try it and tell us how well it works.

Hello, what preservative did you use??

  • @mazznaturals

Good job Sis I love the sound of your cute voice! 😄👏🏾👏🏾 I actually made rose 🌹 water 💦 where I just boiled the petals. Came out beautifully I put Lavender essential oil in mine as I thought it would preserve it for a bit longer. I put the main bottles in the fridge and a bottle in my bathroom at room temperature. To be honest it’s been fine I just check the smell to make sure it’s not gone rancid. Also I only use small bottles so I refill them regularly from my fridge. I use my Rosewater as a toner as it agrees with my skin. I like the way you did the distilled version I may try that one day. Thank you for sharing.
How do you do those lovely labels 🏷 please? I would love to label my DIY creams and lotions. ☺️

Thank you so much for sharing your experience. This does give me more confidence that the rose hydrosol will last very well. I will keep notes and report back when I can. I think I want to formulate a toner with some other ingredients using the rose hydrosol as well.
Here is the link for how I do these temporary labels just for DIYs. They are not oil or water proof, so I add tape to keep them safe. I wouldn't recommend for professional use, but they are perfect for at home diys. Heres is the link: ruclips.net/video/x2TUiX3I2ns/видео.html
I hope this helps. I will do an up-to-date video on labels soon. 😊💜
