    I loved your videos and these recipes look delicious, but I think the language choice sends the wrong impression! There’s no way to ‘detox’ your body with food - your kidneys and liver are the only way to detox. ‘Health’ companies use the word detox to sell programs (diets) to people who are insecure about what they are over the holidays when there’s no reason to feel guilty about it! Just food for thought about how words like ‘clean’ and ‘detox’ are usually used to shame people into buying stuff. That being said, all the food looked SO delicious and the video was so beautifully shot!

    • @SamanthaMarshall108
      @SamanthaMarshall108 5 лет назад +14

      Thanks for saying this! I love the idea of getting back on track and just eating more healthy, but detox/cleans are scientifically proven not to work. That being said I love Nik's videos and recipes, I just think the wording is very important.

    • @dirarmis672
      @dirarmis672 5 лет назад +8

      Yeah, as long as you have a functioning liver and kidneys, no “detoxing” is necessary

    • @sarahjaneadelaide
      @sarahjaneadelaide 5 лет назад +6

      Samantha Marshall exactly! The title would have been more appropriate if it said ‘What I eat in a day: healthy after holidays’ or something like that!

      Thanks for your feedback Sarah! The term detox for me isnt about weight loss or a fad diet its more about supporting your own body's detoxification. Your body detox's itself but eating certain foods can help support those systems. Just like dry brushing can help support your lymphatic drainage and detoxification. Hope that helps clarify things. I will try to explain that better in my next video. Regardless I hope you get some healthy inspo from this video as I put a lot of work and effort into it :) Thank you xo

      Nina Wang you can totally make it before hand but it will lose a lot of the medicinal properties (live enzymes). If you talking it for health conditions; as medical, you will want to drink it immediately after juicing. That being said I’m sure there are plenty of health benefits to be had juicing the night before.

    Great video as usual!! No Matt though. J/K. How did you like Bird Box? Very suspenseful, Sandra is great. My challenge is getting up real early and how to start the day without waking up the house with the Blendtec blaring celery at 5am before work. I've tried lemon juice, but what can I prep the night before or do really quiet? Noticed many comments below asking roughly the same. Any thoughts?
    I think anything you improve on in your eating habits is a "detox". Just my opinion.
    Thanks Nikole!

    • @HealthNutNutrition
      @HealthNutNutrition  5 лет назад +1

      Haha thanks! Wait till today's vlog he actually starts it! I really enjoyed bird box and yes Sandra (my celebrity twin) is amazing. You can make your smoothie the night before and just make sure its in an air tight continuer in the fridge. Just dont add too much flax or chia seeds as they will thicken it up too much

      If you have a juicer you don't need the cloth. the method Nik used shows how you can make juice in a blender. You can strain it trough a cloth, fine colander or even a coffee filter or you can just drink it as a smoothie with the added benefit of fiber
