- In this video, we are looking at my 10 gallon tank with nothing but Bloody Mary Shrimp!
I started this tank last June or July with 7 Shrimp, and its exploded in population since then.
These shrimp are different than cherry shrimp in lineage, but are the same species. Bloody Mary shrimp come from the chocolate neo line. They have a different hue of red than cherries.

Thanks for watching!
amazing! love the growth on the moss and the bloody mary colony exploding. also love the side by side between your cherry shrimp, those look amazing also!
I thinks too Other Bob. Nice shrimp and tank. Thanks for the vid series.
Thanks Other Bob!!
Would be nice to see a shrimp tabk set up video from you. Matten filter, substrate, plants etc. Just got the sub button
There is one full setup with Akadama as the substrate I did last year, but I do have a few more 10 gallon tanks i do need to set up!
Nice Tank, nice Shrimp ! It doesn't has to be "mega scaped" to look good
Thanks!
Nice rack ;)
Beautiful colony! My f1s are about 2 weeks old but I'm hoping to get to this point eventually
Thank you! Love these guys, so vibrant.
Good point on the crypts to keep them shorter. I prefer them shorter especially in twenty gallon long One of my cat helpers has a cone around his head because of uti infection. Talk about an unhappy, sad looking cat.
Poor cat! Hope the infection passes soon
Again nice work man!
You can trim the moss with scissors, be careful to hold the bits you trim!
Thanks!! I just went in there and started ripping small pieces off every couple days, trying not to accidentally pull out any shrimp... lol
Awesome 😁👍
Question. Are the bloody mary shrimplets not as red as an adult? Appreciate if u can answer. Thnks
Sometimes it takes them a while to color up, if after a month they are dull, make sure to cull.
@@beardedbobsfishroom7654 thank u🙏🙏🙏
Beautiful tank! I have a question that I hope somebody can help me with. I have a 15 gallon planted cherry shrimp tank. It's very mature, all water parameters are perfect, all the shrimp are happy and breeding very well. However there is a lot of detritus toward the back of the tank, it looks really unsightly. How do I get rid of this without removing shrimplets? If the excess detritus won't harm the shrimplets, I'm happy to leave it, I'm sure the plants use it, but I do worry about it.
You could try adding some plants back there that would obscure the view of it, or just try to get in there with your hands and pull out what you can. Adding some more substrate over the top may be another idea..... probably best to get it out though.
What type of crypts?
I bought both Bronze and Green Crypts, its a mix.
What neo shrimp and endlers strains sell for top dollar? What neos and endlers do you recommend for breeding for profit in a 10 gallon?
Good quality red neos sell no matter what, but I believe a really dark blue neo would sell for more, just not as many sold as the reds.
How the heck do you get your Xmas moss to grow like that!? 🤤
Time! Lol, it takes a bit of Thrive fertilizer too...
What do you use for the substrate?
Almost every tank (including this one) have Eco Complete substrate. I love this stuff for plants, as it holds down roots very well. I use about 2 pounds per gallon for the best results. Thanks for watching!!
Just hit that sub button :)
Thank you soooo much!
