    Nice video my only problem with those are bugs get up underneath there and if you leave your underside air vent up bugs get in there and can accumulate.
    my suggestion is to change the nuts on the outside to wing nuts for easy removal and cleaning of the inside vent.

    Instead of the supplied hold down washers , I used skinny galvanized metal strips instead . Just holding the entire edge of the Maxx - Air vents instead of just a small area with the washers .

    The was a great institution, but on a safety note, please put your hair back so it doesn't get caught in the drill.

    It's recommended that these are installed with a space between it and the roof so they don't trap water. There is a space left just by virtue of the bracket, but it's not enough.

    • @FourLifeAdventures
      @FourLifeAdventures  4 года назад +1

      Hi there! Either way it can trap debris and such. Main thing thought is maintenance of a rig is definitely important.

    • @LL-wh3uc
      @LL-wh3uc Год назад

      How to create that space?

    HA ! My Propane RV guy just pointed out that my Vent Cover was on Backwards. He said to flip it around so that the outlet is facing rearwards ! I bought it like this and always wondered. With front facing, water would accumulate if raining while unit is in motion.

    These blow off on the highway and can be dangerous according to comments on other videos. The plastic cracked around the bolts. It's important to put more Hardware and better Hardware than what is supplied with these.

    You need an off camera mic. Nice info but that mic noise on the camera is AWFUL.

    Sorry for this, but you have the camera too far away from what you are actually doing. You need to zoom onto about a foot and a half.

    Just wondering if you just put a new roof on? It looks way better than the roof on the 2018 RV I recently bought bought new...:-(

    • @FourLifeAdventures
      @FourLifeAdventures  5 лет назад +1

      No. Bought it used from dealer 2017 model. There are some EDM roof conditioners that you can buy that may clean it up a bit. Is your roof white?

  • @stevekloyda

    Great information. Always wondered how those vents were installed without drilling a hole in the roof. On one of your videos you talked about Weboost. Would you consider doing a video how you installed it.

    I love your video and easy installation directions. I ordered vent covers for my RV, but they did not come with hardware. They are Heng's product and the RV part store I bought them at said that they have no brackets, screws, nuts and bolts. Do you have a suggestion as to where I can purchase them?

    Do you find it necessary to caulk around the rim of the cover? I'm about to install and wondering if that is something that should be done

    Thank you for the video, however a word of precaution. People with long hair should put it up under a hat or in a pony tail when using power tools. I've been in manufacturing a long time, accidents happen, even with small hand tools.

    Not that easy. Damn air vents on my RV were installed crooked causing me to have to remove some of plastic vent frame to be able to get the screws in correctly.

    Background noise is bad. Couldn’t hear you talking.

  • @Josef_R
    @Josef_R 5 лет назад +1

    Your vent would probably open if you had installed the cover all the way forward, instead of centering it.

    • @FourLifeAdventures
      @FourLifeAdventures  5 лет назад +1

      Nope, we moved the cover in all directions with the vent cover open to get the best fit.

    • @Josef_R
      @Josef_R 5 лет назад

      That doesn't make sense because the cover is higher toward the rear and you still had room to move it forward. It may still touch, which is ok, but it would have to open more.
