    Nobody would have heard of this guy or of Doug Clifford without John Fogerty. He was the genius that drove the whole band. Untill they got jealous and screwed him over.Everything they do now they still owe to John, would be nice if he gave him some more credits.

      @@BassMusicianMagazine .. The only point of view that matters or means anything is John Fogerty's.. When Fogerty asked Cook why he screwed him over so bad with Saul Zaentz, Cooks response was "I don't care about the music, just give me the money".. Stu Cook is a fucking clown

      @@markv.5962 .. Cook was the asshat who took Fogerty's album "Centerfield" to Saul Zaentz and told him he needed to sue Fogerty for plagiarizing himself. Ya sure, sue John Fogerty for sounding too much like John Fogerty... Stu Cook needs to get back on the short bus and stay there, his stop is nowhere near talented and smart hardworking musicians

      Could you imagine playing this shit every day for the rest of your life and somehow feeling good about it? Stu and Doug can. Dime a dozen, right place at the right time. Lucky you, Stu, but really? Please...

    Mardi Gras is an underrated album. Stu cook plays the lead guitar on the non-Fogerty songs. Cooks and Cliffords Songs were obviously not as good as John's but they're listenable and John's someday never comes is Ccrs best song.

    For what Stu and Doug did to John Fogerty they should hang their heads in shame. Every cent they have they owe to John's musical talent.

    • @Vickytoriahirt1234
      @Vickytoriahirt1234 2 года назад

      @@smoke0586 Stu Cook is a complete loser. So is Doug Clifford. In CCR, John Fogerty was writing, producing, singing and arranging all the songs. The other guys didn't like the feeling of John leading and doing everything so they tried to step in and wanted to play more of a part in songwriting and everything. Even though their songwriting, and arranging abilities were absolutely terrible. CCR broke up because of it. Then years later they did a lot of shitty things to John. Legal things. Really disgusting stuff. And then, of all things they decided to exploit and rip off John's songs by creating their own band Credence Clearwater Revisited. The whole thing is comical.

    Why did he go from fingerstyle to using a pick? It is a personal choice but what was the reason for it? Just curious. I play fingerstyle all of the time!

    • @BassMusicianMagazine
      @BassMusicianMagazine  2 года назад

      I can't speak for Stu, but in general, the sound you get from a pick is different than fingerstyle. Certain musical genres need a more stacatto attack sound. You should try a pick for fun to hear the difference. Thanks for watching and for your input! Please feel free to Like, Share and Subscribe to our channel.

      @@BassMusicianMagazine I can change my sound by moving more to the bridge side for higher tones and more toward the neck for lower tones. Makes it different, I and picks aren't the best of friends they usually fly across the room I know how, I know the basics but we aren't the best of friends. LOL LOL 🤣🤣🤣🤣

    • @BassMusicianMagazine
      @BassMusicianMagazine  2 года назад +1

      @@dianepowers6364 True, there are tons of ways to modify your sound. Picks are just a tool. Even the kind of pick makes a huge difference. We tested some Glass ones and some with computer-generated shapes that grab the string as you play. Fun to play around with but not for everyone.

      @@BassMusicianMagazine I think it could be much more valuable if you had some basic knowledge of the musician and their contribution before the interview. You didn't seem to know much about any of that. Questions about style, gear, politics of the band etc. can help you focus the intervew. Otherwise most will lose interest quickly.
