I bought one a couple years back for fun and with the right training and mods I think it is a solid platform for urban environments. Highly recommend the Geiselle Longbow Trigger and Timney just released a new trigger pack that is solid. Beyond that, I added the gas block seal for the ejection port that is on the left side, switched out the foregrip with a lighter model that has a raised rail, added a front grip, and then of course new optics. Can't wait to see you review.

I have the Longbow in mine as well, highly recommend it.

I have worked and trained with all of the IWI Bullpups: X95, Tavor 7, and TS12. I love the platform and they are my goto rifles. The X95 needs some updates, as it is the oldest. Adopting design elements of its 308 brother the Tavor 7 would be ideal. The 7 has perfected the design and simplicity of changing from left to right eject. It has an ambi charging handle with an HK like bolt lock. It takes me about 20 minutes to safely convert an x95 from right to left handed, needs tools, and an extra part. The Tavor 7 can be converted in about 4 minutes with one round as a tool. I look forward to if the x95 moves in that direction.

I’m looking forward to this video series. The AR15 has 60 years of development and evolution. That’s why most new stuff cannot touch it. The Tavor/X 95 has at least 20 years behind it at this point. And your X95 does not look anything like the rifles that were coming into the country 10 years ago. There definitely has been evolution and improvement in the system. So I am interested to see how the current generation compares.

Excited for the range review. Love everything better about the AR except the stress it puts on my support side shoulder/neck. The Tavor helps me in being easier to support, for longer, by nature of its weight balance.

Packed with gold nuggets. The one where you spoke on never seeing and using the shoulder switch in battle, and the simunition example. That was worth the video itself. Thanks.

I'm very comfortable with both AR style rifles and bullpups. Because of the size and the fact that all the weight of a tavor is tucked into your body.. it's always am easy choice for me.. but it depends on what you're comfortable with

I got one three years ago. Awesome. Love it. And for me the bullpup balance is perfect. Put the Geisselle trigger pack in it and its perfection

I've been rocking and x95 in blackout for 3 years now night hunting pigs. Love love love the rifle. But it has a few issues. Safety sucks xomes out of safety buy rubbing, comes out of battery easily so you need to buy mpa
    charging handle to fix it.
Trigger is maaa. After market trigger fixes that. Overall expensive rifle and a little heavy
It's accurate and reliable and nice and short. Love my tavors

Curious what Kevin thinks about the Springfield Armory Hellion / VHS-2 in comparison to the the Tavor X95 & L85A1.
My Wife's (who is from Guyana) has an Uncle who served in the British Army posted in Ireland during the Troubles.
He hated the L85A1. From what he said it was first introduced as Semi-Auto only and was converted by the troops to be full-auto only.
He spoke very highly of the Carl Gustav (from what I hear everyone who handles one loves it & I want one SOOOOO bad).
Personally I don't detest the AR rear charging handles - first rifle I fired became familiar with the FAL then the AK during the '94 AWB ban era.
Props on your channel Kevin. I first seen you on Mike's (Garand Thumb) channel and been following you since.
Your story of perseverance in Ireland then the US is encouraging to all who hear it & learning from the experience you share as the P.I.C. of Force Modernization for Army Special Forces is invaluable. Thank You!!!!

One thing, the bottom handguard panel, all of them actually, can be repositioned to form a somewhat extended handguard/barrier stop.

For me the toughest obstacle is battery of arms. When you drill a certain battery of arms, isn’t so much what is better as much as it is how quickly can I perform all the essential tasks. And learning new ones and doing it smoothly and quickly takes a lot of work.

Owned one for a number of years -
Definitely need to get used to the manual of arms, but once you do they are a sweet rifle. In some ways they are even more ergonomic than the AR.
Biggest drawback is parts availability…IWI is a struggle.

Kinda fell off the radar, love the rifle, i have AR15s that are more and less accurate, but having a short rifle with a 16" barrel and no NFA stamp is a huge selling point for me, takes some getting used to but i have no complaints, now i want the 308 version

  • @nathanielmilam75

I like mine. Also like higher end AR's as well. Trigger snob myself. I really didn't have that much issue with the stock.

  • @dantheman4751

Great platform. One of the drawbacks is accuracy on the 556 platform. It's slightly over gassed. Aftermarket is limited and no one besides IWI manufactures replacement part. The 308 version seems much better engineered and has the notch for the charging handle you mentioned.

I did the same thing as you. Have fun. I still have mine and will keep it but it pretty much collects dust until I let friends shoot it. I don't hate it I just like my custom built AR's much better.

In my experience it is a good police or civilian rifle where you have the downtime to maintain it and use it in a less demanding environment but it is not a replacement for the AR/AK.

I'm not a huge bullpup fan, but I appreciate weapons that work. This would be an excellent "tool in the toolbox," I think - with less panache than an MP5, but better range and effectiveness...

Love this channel and informative videos and everything you have done for the community. That said, the 5.7 is a better overall solution to this issue. Most of your reasons you went with bullpups can be solved with a cmmg Banshee with the full size AR magazines. Even the failed ngsw bullpup couldnt overcome the erogonimics and adaptability of the AR platform. 5.7 has the advantage of a lighter loadout and no need for a 16 in barrel for optimal performance. Reach out to cmmg, guarantee youll be surprised and their a great 2a company too. Thanks for everything sir.

    • @Orudaiken
      @Orudaiken 7 месяцев назад

5.7 is a peashooter cartridge. Bullpups are superior urban rifles. I'm curious how you believe that bullpups do not possess superior ergonomics. They are easier to use 1 handed, better in confined areas, have better balance, etc.

  • @px106l
    @px106l 7 месяцев назад

I don't hate it but I have some issues with it. For mine, I ended up getting the IWI short mlok rail so that I could attach a light and laser. I ended up going to a traditional trigger guard and grip, I am a big guy and it just fits me better. The long stroke piston system is highly reliable, having the rounds and bolt cycle next to your cheek is something that is distracting, at least for me. The length of pull is bad for me compared to the adjustability of a typical AR. At the end of the day, you are really talking about five inches of length between this rifle and a 16 inch AR. The AR is lighter, softer shooting, more accurate, better manual of arms in my opinion,

Old sandbag here again. Went from the 19th to 21st century with the No4, then FAL and finally the AUG. So like the Steyr that I bought a l/h civvie one here in Malta. Like you say, the ergonomics are merely a matter of training. No experience of the X95 so can't comment.

What is the point of paying a lot of money for something you’ll modify? I really try to stay with OEM. Been burned on a few purchases, but stay the course guys. I like this weapon, but I feel that iron sights should have been included.
