You have no idea the gift you have given me! I had felt like a mashup would be amazing also but you crushed it! This is just PERFECT! Great job, keep'em comin PLEASE!!!
For some reason one of my favorite jokes is Nick: "My grandmother is turning 75 tomorrow, and she's gonna try skydiving for the very first time." Crow: "It's not gonna go too well if you know what I mean..." I really shouldn't find that funny. And the joke that really cracked me up in the Live Show was "Mastercard?" "Visa?"
Thanks for uploading! Time Chasers was the first MST3k that I ever watched back when it first aired. It has a lot of memories for me. I think it was cool to get takes from both the MST3k version and the Rifftrax version. It's interesting to see the comparison and get a variety of riffs. Good job! God bless. :)
Thanx, I appreciate it very much :) It was a challenge to have the patience to piece these all together, took me all night but wasn't going to stop til it was finally done, and I'm glad I'll have this version for myself as well as it's one of my personal favorites as well.
First saw Time Chasers when MST3k was in its waning days of reruns on Sci-Fi. No other movie from those last few seasons really fit the Saturday morning timeslot like Time Chasers did.
I've usually heard it as, "Sir, this is an Arby's." I think it works a little better because it evokes the image of someone ranting into a drive-thru ordering mic. I can't believe I spent any time thinking about that.
It's far from the funniest joke in the original, but I always laugh at Mike's "Who am I trying to kid, I never went to Castleton..." comment. Can't explain why.
When I see this poor actress kissing our "hero" and also watching that poor actress having to do a love scene with Tommy Wiseau, I now have a new found respect for actresses.
They needed to make a movie where Nick Miller teamed up with Zapp Rowsdower (the new odd couple) and battle JK Robertson and Satoris in a game of world domination, or of just parts of Vancouver and Ottawa.
Yup. Loving these mashups. There’s still quite a few both groups have done. Fun how MST in S13 did a few that RT had already done. Great editing, Wiley. I really dig videos. 🫡
the Rifftrax ending improved on the MST3K version: "you could have just not called him, ya dick!" "Monster." LOL. Although "Andrew Wyeth's pink boy on tarmac" was hilarious.
I almost forgot this was from Vermont! That's why the damn Ben & Jerry's references. This means one of 3 things: the live riffing was done before the 2016 primaries; all the references to a certain senator were left out; there were no senator riffs and they missed a huge opportunity.
Here's something that screws with this movie... Would aircraft control be freaking out when they randomly see an aircraft disappear and appear from/on radar? 'course this film predates 911
This movie tried its best to be a poor man's Back To The Future and succeeded at it. The only way this film is enjoyable is with Mike and the bots. Without them, it's just barely watchable, but still even the plotlines and the poor decisions made by the characters makes for a decent unintentional sci-fi comedy.
There's a funny story about the Time Chasers people being excited about their movie being picked up by MST3K, but they apparently thought they liked the movie and as a result celebrated by getting together with the cast and film crew to watch the MST3K take, and they were brutally disappointed with them demolishing the movie.
They did not know what 'Mystery Science Theater' was actually about, they assumed that they were fans of mystery science and actually admired the movie, but of course they had another thing coming.
Here is something fun. If you happen to have an Amazon prime account. They have a lot of Rifftrax on them that were done before when it was MST3k. This is one, and other is Gammara. If your patient you can play them in two different windows, and synch them up. Sure its a little of a hassle, but its funny...
"I'm gonna leave a couple of men here to keep watch." "Do you think that's necessary?" "ABSOLUTELY! But it's just a precaution." WTF? Amazing writing there. LMAO!
My favorite from the MST version not included here was; "Our young nations first spaz attack!" After J.K. has that Sly smile upon witnessing the colonials and saying "I'm going to facilitate connectivity!"
Wait if he dies in the past wouldn't he die in the future? I mean they blatantly bring that up with JK says "I wouldn't want you finding my great great grandparents and killing them therefore killing me" yada yada yada.... I'm still not sure how all three of them are alive in the future I mean I get it but I don't. Never dawned on me until just now and I've seen this movie at least 50 times... Maybe that's why it was riffed, I suppose... 🤔 Another shitty plot from Giancola.
Probably couldn't have helped it, but I personally wouldn't have included the laughter from what I assume is a live event. It feels like a laugh track, I hate those.
Acting- poor Effects- poor Writing- seriously? Time travel is difficult to do well and most productions fail.. Rather like a poor man's Back to The Future.
I dunno why but “I’ll walk back to the past” makes me laugh out loud every time
"I'm going back to Italy, bye!"
"Two different plaids? I'm a naked robot and I know that's a fashion no-no"!
"New York Cabbie" is truly the "Spruce Bark Beetle Guy" of this film.
If that makes sense to anyone, I'm sorry.
No need to feel bad for us, the Birdemic right of passage makes us adults in Rifftrax.
You have no idea the gift you have given me! I had felt like a mashup would be amazing also but you crushed it! This is just PERFECT! Great job, keep'em comin PLEASE!!!

"Hi I'm Bob Evil"
One of my favorite MST movies.
The remastered version almost looks like a real movie.
Yeah it's a completely different feel, especially with all the scenes they cut out of the episode, there's more too in the full Rifftrax Live version.
Wow, I don't even remember half theses scenes.
the medley’s hilarious
“And now for some good old-fashioned ‘50s heavy petting” 😂
“Oh hai, the future”

"I want you to buy me an Orange Julius."
5:25 The chairman from _Overdrawn at the Memory Bank_ must've really fallen on hard times if he's reduced to doing TV spots for megachurches.
ROFL, the crossover we truly needed.
It’s funny how Crow’s “this is Domino’s” lives on in the “sir, this is a Denny’s” meme
Mst3k did a "sir this is Pizza Hut" and now i wonder which was the original!
I've usually heard it as, "Sir, this is an Arby's." I think it works a little better because it evokes the image of someone ranting into a drive-thru ordering mic.
I can't believe I spent any time thinking about that.

Because it's funny as shit?!
Sometimes, it's the offhand-style riffs that hit the funny bone.
Both versions had some funny moments (rifftrax's 'two apples' bit for example), but I'm giving MST3K'S version the win
The "LISA...JUMP!" bit was also hilarious.
Aah! Time squirrels!

I have three of the Castleton tees. David Giancola got special permission to reproduce them from the 80s.
When I see this poor actress kissing our "hero" and also watching that poor actress having to do a love scene with Tommy Wiseau, I now have a new found respect for actresses.
Both playing character named Lisa too.
and then I watched Alien from LA and, well, lost all my respect for actresses...
how about the love scene in Mitchell. bahhh
The wording of your comment could be interpreted as Lisa from this and The Room are the same actress...they're not.
@@hunter423I definitely interpreted it that way until another read through.
All I see in his fridge is maple syrup. Yep, this is either Vermont or Canada. Same thing.
They needed to make a movie where Nick Miller teamed up with Zapp Rowsdower (the new odd couple) and battle JK Robertson and Satoris in a game of world domination, or of just parts of Vancouver and Ottawa.
Thanks for adding both episodes.
The church of the holy hologram should call J.G. Wentworth.
"This is all my fault."
Exactly!
Good editing man. I enjoyed watching your video. Thanks for making it.
No chinderwear line!? That was one of the best callbacks.
“And nobody has more than one grandmother!” That bit was always a small peeve when I watched the MST version, so I love that Rifftrax commented on it.
Maybe they said it but I kept thinking,”David Koresh as you’ve never seen him before”.
Thank you Paul Bearer
24:04 “...JUMP!” 😂😂😂

6:06 Now we know the truth of how Bob Sagat died. RIP
Thank you for posting this!!
22:56 The transition to the shooting is hilarious to me for some reason 👀😂😂😂😂
"He time-jumped us!"
Hey look- a lesbian OF THE FUTURE!!!!
Time squirrels!
27:48 Amazingly, this crappy movie managed to predict _Breaking Bad._
Thank you for this mashup!
I must have seen this MST3K episode a million times and I only just noticed there’s a Back to the Future 3 cutout at 1:38
"Hey! Those are our lemons!"
A what?

That chin puts Kyle MacLachlan's to shame. 😂

wiley schmitt They expected guys known for riffing on bad(and good) movies to not riff on it? Does not compute.

Is the guy who played "Matt" (mustachioed Genecorp employee) the father of the guy who plays "Dante Hicks" in the Clerks movies?!!!
I don't know how the live audience managed to sound like a laugh track but they did. Kind of wrecks it for me.

The Rifftrax version simply does not hold a candle to the original. Not even close. Really there was no reason to redo it.
True, but they did show the parts that were cut out of the original MST3K version, some were really funny on their own as well as a few good jokes.
