Thanks for watching!! You guys rock!!
i really want to get a Scion xB in manual thanks to your videos. what an underrated car with the bulletproof toyota 2.4L and assembled in Japan.
Love toaster Tuesday’s.
Me too!
Keep it up.
Love your videos man watching them has helped me alot working on mine so keep it coming
I love toaster Tuesday’s too!! Thank you!
I really appreciate your time on all these xB videos. Thank You Sir !!
Thank you for taking the time to watch.
This entire time I thought it was on coils already haha looks sweet
Thanks!
And by the way, I got coilovers before you put your matching wheels back on!!
Looks great to me. I'm following your lead so when I change my rims and tires I'm going to upgrade my suspension to this setup. Thank you for sharing. I've learned so much from your channel and I appreciate it.
Awesome! Glad it's helping. Thanks for watching!
Your commitment is sincerely appreciated. Thanks for your dedication.
Thanks for watching 🙏
I feel your agony in this video! When a simple install turns into something more that what you originally planned for 😅
Tell me about it! I must have put the rear together at least 4x. Thanks for watching!
Ok....bought a 2005 xb with a 5 speed cause that's what my wive wanted, I am surprisingly impressed driving this vehicle. It has a close ratio steering and is fun and easy to drive with the Manuel shift. We are looking to do some mods and some bolt on parts. This was a good buy.
I know this is mad late, but you can adjust your coilovers without taking everything apart and spinning the bottom. If you're going down, turn the UPPER preload ring down. It will use the lower one as a lock and it'll spin the whole threaded body into the bottom.
If you're going up, turn the LOWER preload ring up.
Get some coilover for socks to keep em clean and keep it easy on yourself.
Good tip for newer viewers. Thanks for watching.
I’m rocking a race land coils and they work good. I highly recommend them if you out of budget.
Good to hear! I almost bought them!
Watch the video to find out.
Hi Chris, just got and installed my Racelands on my 06 xA. By any chance do you feel the rear springs are a little soft ? I had H&R Sport Springs and Koni Yellows before this and I was hoping that they were close to the set up I previously had.
Toaster Tooosdayy! 🍞 Awesome vid! 🔥 So much helpful info. Bless up! 🙏🏼
Glad it was helpful!
Dude the box looks sick!! Good birthday present for yourself man. I like that you went outside the usual for the coils. I've driven my friends box with raceland coils and it drives pretty good but this set comes set and ready to go, no bs. One of the cool things about the channel is that you do things your way and out the box sort of speak. Badass stuff bro!
Appreciate it, dude. I try to not be swayed by what everyone else is doing. However, that doesn't mean that I always go outside the box. Much of what I do has been done 1000x over. Thanks for watching, JC!
Just got me a 2006 xB on a killer deal thanks for the content the xB looks killer can’t wait to get mine as close to a cool as yours!
Congrats on the new Box!
I had raceland coilover for over 10 year on my 2006 limited edicion ,5 years max life extension. I need new 😩 ones so bad alredy ,thank you for your videos xb lover got 2 my self
Yeah, Raceland's are a solid option. Thanks for watching!
I really want to get an XB, your videos are great !!!
You should! Thanks for watching!
It looks sick ,I love your xB
I appreciate it. Thanks!
I been waiting for this type of video 😅. I’m about to do the same. Thank you so much. fixing up my 15 year lunch box car is fun. I never tried before as I don’t really know anyone around my area that works on Scion xB. I get excited for almost all your video’s because I can try to do similar things that I would be to timid to do. I just installed 17’ x 8’ wheels now I want to do this to make it lower😆
If I can do it, you can do it. You and I have the same mechanical background...none. 😂
Fully adjustable you cant beat that!
I know! And you don't have to reuse your old parts!
Bro super dope video. I have the same color and been fighting with how I want to lower mine for the meantime. Now I know 🤙🏽🤙🏽
I think its looking pretty good there. It may need more adjustment pending on the wheels you get for it. I still think thats a stellar deal for the money tho with that kit.
It's starting to grow on me. I measured the rear today and it's 3/4 of an inch higher than the front. I should have measured the rear before I lowered it, but I was too excited to get it done. There is no rubbing or noises so I'm thinking I may just leave it and let new wheels make my decision. Thanks for watching!
In the beginning you're so happy like "What can go wrong?" Towards the end..."I'm sad." Like putting a bike together at Christmas (memories). Too funny. But in the end it looks really 'sweet!' Can't wait till next Tuesday. ;)
I know! I was so excited to get started! 6 hours later, I was exhausted and defeated! Lol. It all turned out well in the end. Thanks for watching!
Looks awesome man, tbh I’d rather have it SLIGHTLY higher in the back anyway for aerodynamics on the freeway haha. My xb is stock and I feel like sometimes it’s lifting off the ground and gunna fly away that’s why I got a lip wing 😂 . Awesome job man looks sick I’d leave it the way it sits with the perches on. Great job 🎉
Lol. There is nothing "aerodynamic" about the xB!
thats how all of these adjujstable coilovers work unfortunately. i added racelands to my 2008 scion tc and love it but it was alot of adjustment and getting dissapointed by it being not low enough, but in the end, it settled and looks great now! you have to get it about .5 inches above where you want and wait for the settling. anyway, how you felt at the end remind me of my situation. glad you like them!
Yeah, this was a learning experience. Ultimately, I got the stance where I wanted it and it was great. Thanks for watching!
I know this is an older video but u had trouble removing the second front strut because the new strut was shorter and your sway bar stiffens up the opposite side making the control arm apply upward pressure. Next time, change them both at the same time and ur control arms won’t have pressure on them.
Hey brother. In my opinion, because these things are subjective, it looks pretty damn good. That’s actually the rake I was looking for. Appreciate the vid. Keep em coming
Thanks for your feedback! Keep your eyes peeled for a suspension update in the near future.
You can take the spring perch out for extra low in the back. Shouldn't hurt anything! Also the spring will settle a bit
Thanks! Yeah, I'm hoping they will settle a quarter inch. Thanks for watching!
After a day or two you will need to hit those strut top bolt one more time after it settles. At least I always have had to. FYI. Otherwise you will get a sudden knocking or bumping sound. At least with Eibachs.
Thanks for the tip! Will do.
Been thinking about doing 15x8 +20 offset and coilovers on mine. Was excited to see this video. Now I feel like I need to wait to see how yours settle. I read all of the comments and only saw 2 or 3 people say their Racelands and Teins are perfect for them. I was leaning towards Teins before this video because I figured $399 was too cheap to be good quality. I also didn't realize the Teins didn't come with the top hats though.......ugh. I'm hopeful these settle enough to make you happy with the purchase
Thank you for watching, and thank you for checking the comments before commenting! I will be doing updates on the upcoming #toastertuesday videos. So we can all see together how they are doing.
Bruh, don’t be afraid to remove those rear adjustment rings on the springs! That will drop you another 1/2” easy.. BUT... I’m super ocd about lowering, and I think Your stance looks great, in my honest opinion!
Thank you for your input! Next week's Toaster Tuesday video will be an update and review of the CX Racing suspension.
I really love ypu pour a lot of love in your toaster man!!
Thank you!
I think all that hard work paid off it looks mean and has that hot rod stance Looking forward to next Tuesday and as too when your updating your wheels.
I appreciate it. See you on Tuesday!!
Looks like that is what we getting for my girls xb and mine when the time comes. Living close to New Orleans we can't drop it that low.. The xb can fit inside some of the pot holes.
Lol, we don't have potholes here, but I want to be able to take this car anywhere.
Love your channel really help me with my xb 1gen im thinking to get Coilovers but i want to drop it even like 2.5 or 3.0 front and back and the coilover over that you show is Decent price
These will do it, you just have to remove some of the adjustable hardware in the rear. Thanks for watching.
Glad to see it on coils. We gotta go do a photo shoot with our boxes. It’s Luis btw
Thanks! Definitely down for a photo shoot!
Thanks for sharing! Your car looks sickkkk! I love the clean look you got going on 🤙🏼 hope to meet you someday with my xB
Hell yeah. That would be rad.
I took off the purge on my bc's and it went down an inch 🤘🏽
I might wind up doing that. Thanks for watching!
I am a little surprised you haven't thought of installing hood struts. I did on mine a few months ago and love them! Highly recommended "mod."
Probably at some point, but I have so many other fish to fry.
@@ExtremeDailyDrivers Nothing like frying that fish in your garage.;)
It's a really good video. Love it.
Thanks!
Great choice on the coilovers, car looks awesome! 👍👍
Thank you and thanks for watching!
@XtremeDailyDrivers I had few xB guys sayin that they hated. Because as u say, it feels a little too bouncy, but I believe it’s because u adjust me too low to make it too bouncy. And a lot of others I know they love it. Because the quality. The stiff feel is what they enjoy and I agree with them a lot. I don’t mind the bouncy ness, and it’s not gonna bother me. And as u say also, you love it or you hated. It’s the same quote when we saw Scion xB2/2.5 that’s modified and shows two small box to check and said, you love it or you hated. Or love or not. Raceland and TRD are my two favorite ones the most.
Exactly, if you slam it, it won't ride nice. It's a trade off. Thanks for watching!
Extreme Daily Drivers always a pleasure and support Scion xB enthusiasts
Raceland FTW day and night!!!!
I hope you released the e brake to see where it settles. Also they will lower letter on cause it’s still new
From your lips to God's ears!! Thanks for watching!
You should make a video on getting the adequate suspension parts to minimize any camber issues along with alignment. Hopefully i didnt miss a video if you already made one.
I don't have any camber issues. Our cars really don't have any adjustment for it. It's not like a Honda Civic. If you want camber, you need camber bolts in the front, and camber shims in the rear. Thanks for watching.
toaster tuesdays!
Best day of the week!
The drop looks great there. I’d love to have those wheels/tires for my xB!
Thanks!
I’m still fixing up my xb rn I just bought a intake manifold gasket because I hear a air leak. But it gave me an idea for a video if you could do a air hose/lines upgrade video to make it look like a show car and clean
Not a bad idea. I'll take a look at it. Thanks for watching.
I would have gone with the race land's too but the fact that the adjustment for the hight wasn't good so I went with the tein coilovers and I have them as low as they can in the back and the ride quality is amazing still
Would you say yours is lower than mine or about the same? Thanks for watching!
@@ExtremeDailyDrivers in the rear it's way more lower by about a inch and a half or more I'd take a look at both the tein coilovers and the race land's and look at how much the rear end drops I am on 17 inch rims
Thanks for the video. I was just about to buy springs and strut/shocks for my 05. Think I'll go the coilovers route. I like the idea of not having to take parts of the old, especially the hats. Cost is very comparble too. Your car is lookin nice.
Thank you! Yeah, the installation is so much easier. Dialing the ride height is what takes so long.
@@ExtremeDailyDrivers update: FR was a breeze. FL was a PITA to remove, the hub would not drop. The rears were kinda easy. I had one of the rear shocks where the center plunger shaft would spin when trying to tighten the top nut. Agree, the dialing impart was time consuming. Otherwise, it was an okay install.
Did one of the coil overs have the brakeline tab on the wrong side?
No, mine were both in the right spot. It did seem like there was a right and left. Glad the setup is working for you. How do you like the ride?
@@ExtremeDailyDrivers haven't driven it on my 50 mi commute yet, but around the block, it rides well. I adjusted the damper 10 clicks from S. I did notice as you noted, the rears with the struts bottomed out really isn't that low. It's okay for me though. Fronts had more adjustment. Overall, about 1.25- 1.5 inch drop. Looking forward to your Tuesday video. Alignment yet?
Still no alignment because I'm still messing with ride height and will be getting new wheels soon. I'll have it all done then.
How do you feel about ISC Suspension® S603-S - 0"-3" x 0"-3" N1 Street Sport Series Front and Rear Lowering Coilover Kit, I love the kit you grabbed for sure.
I don't know anything about it. I've never heard of it.
A before and after pic of the ride height would be a good gauge. All in all sweet ride, she looks lower
I have a new suspension video that shows the updated ride height. Make sure you check it out! Thanks for watching.
The Raceland have a rake too unfortunately. They ride good but has a rake like yours. I'm sure they did it for load purposes. With a full tank and my small kids, it sits in the back. If you take the perch out, do a video.
Thanks for that feedback. I'm going to let them settle and go from there.
Thanks for the video. If they make a set for the 09 I'll get the CX
I'm pretty sure they do. cxracing.com
@@ExtremeDailyDrivers yes they do and it's on my wishlist 😁
You convinced me....BC RACING!!!!
Wise choice!! Thanks for watching!
Dude , congrats on the Coil overs ! I'm in Tampa man , Next time just hit me up ? I'll come help ! I'll be the cameraman ... And just get bigger wheels 😉, it'll look lower ' Mine are 18's ! So ' you go any lower then that and your screwed bro . Mine rubs everywhere! I ran over a French fri and scraped 😂
I can't sacrifice what very little horsepower that I have to larger wheels. The Low Life is in my blood. I can't mask it with larger wheels. Thanks for watching and hopefully we can meet up some day!
Extreme Daily Drivers Yes we can definitely meet , If you get the info for the Orlando car meet ! Put it on Your IG please thanks ... I WARN you , I am a big clown .. 😎
I’m shipping My Toaster to you and you can do Anything you want to it! Start with a bit of Rust Repair
Lol. Just grind that rust out!!
Extreme Daily Drivers 😂 If we grind the Rust Out I fear the Car will disappear!
Just thought you should know that CX Racing kind of frowns on Garage Hacks like us installing their products thereby voiding the warranty. This could make matters a little more difficult if an item is actually defective. I think this is something everyone should know..
BTW, I like your review.
One year Warranty*
We offer one year warranty for manufacturing defective parts. Professional Installation is a must for this warranty, without a professional installation receipt, warranty is voided. Bad part must be returned for inspection for exchange new part.
You can't get more professional than a RUclips mechanic!!! 😂🤣
@@ExtremeDailyDrivers - Some of the vids I've seen are pretty good..
But in reality I had an A&P License, I've worked on my own cars, I was involved with this whole Import craze from the 80's, and I've also worked on mine and other Motocross Bikes complete engine rebuilds/modifications to Suspension Re-valving. So when they say Professional what does that really entail ? Because someone gets paid to perform a task ?
@@ehbuggah Agreed. There are plenty of "professionals" who get paid and don't have a clue what they are doing. I remember paying for an oil change 20 years ago and also receiving a broken radiator free of charge!
Nice XB, Thanks for taking the time to make this video, I was just about to buy Racelands tonight and saw this video and going to buy CX Racing now, if you don't mind where did you purchase or have those wide steelies made? I am a fan of that look and been looking for a new set.
The wheels came with the car. Next Tuesday's video is about the new wheels I just purchased and the steelies are being sold. I also have a suspension update video coming the following Tuesday where I give an in depth review of the suspension as I make some more adjustments. Make sure you sub to the channel so you never miss a video! Thanks for watching! #toastertuesday
I just picked up an 05 xb & im a fiend for low cost upgrade’s!! I have to find info on the bushing swaybar mod
Great upgrade!
that looks good
Thanks!
Just found ur channel and glad I did. I also have a box and a na Miata and I’m in central Florida. Nice xb content. Do u go to any of the cars and coffee events locally? Would love to see the box in person
Yes I do! I keep meaning to go! Thanks for watching!
Looks Good!
Thanks!
Looks great!
Thanks!
Look great!
Thanks! I love em'
Again love your channel we should get together and add a sound system on my 2004 scion xb im running 4 6” speaker and 1400 amp and everything look factory
That would be cool
Thats it Am getting 2006 xb
Now you're talking!!!
I’m interested in picking these up for my 06 XB. Was it’s worth the purchase and how are you enjoying them? We need a review video. Great channel bro
I think they are definitely worth. There will be a follow up video in two weeks. Thanks for watching.
Hello brother i got Kudo Racing Terrorize 17x7.5 4x100 4x114.3 +40mm Black w/Polish Face Wheels Rims im thinking about goimg with
Raceland Classic Coilovers for Scion xB 1st Gen. (2004-2007) LIFETIME WARRANTY for the price also there ajustable im having my scion xb professionaly paited i would have did it but with this cancer dont have the strength to, but im gonna lower it i got all that stuff sound system everything like you got from amazone in my living room hope you are haveing a great day what you think Brandon
Thanks brother
I hope you still gave the xa
It’s a reliable vehicle that you want for infinite miles.
Man thanks for the video honesty what is your opinion on those? I’m on the same spot right now but with a XA
No complaints. I'm buying the same ones for the Miata.
Love the video! It will Definetely come in handy when i do coilovers! You dont wanna remove the perches to get that low man? whats the downside of removing them? Possible rough ride?
Well, in theory, the lower you go, the less travel you have and the rougher the ride. So yes, going lower could affect comfort and longevity of the setup. When ever you do something like this, there are trade offs. It's up to you what you can live with. I'm going to let these settle, and see where I'm at and go from there. Thanks for watching!
Can you give us info on your alignment? Since the rear isnt adjustable im curious how much negative camber you have
I'm waiting on an alignment for when I get the new wheels, which should be soon. I should have mentioned that. Thanks for watching!
We don’t do it for speed or make it faster we do it for looks ! 🤟🏽
Ricer
@@juann2k what do you drive i mean ride? a skateboard 😂
@@raidereddie791 yeah, still goes faster than whatever you ride
@@juann2k you’re funny kid.
I bought one of them for my scion xb 2011. I spent the same job as you. and I have a noise behind when I fall into holes like glu glu. I don't know if are the same struts or what will be. It’s frustrating!
Recheck everything and make sure everything is tight. Good luck and thanks for watching.
I have a gen 2 xb and looking to get tein sport coil overs and get xb almost slammed but drivable
That will be awesome! Good luck!
I like it I’m going to do mine
Hey man odd question but I’ve been looking at Coilovers brands and found cx racing ones then came across this older video on installing them. My question to you is were they reliable did they last & do you recommend me going with cx?
They are great. We have them on our Miata too.
Now that you've had some time on the CX Coilovers, what do you think of them ? How is the ride ? Spongy, kind of stiff or stiff ? How about cornering ?
I ended up going the Raceland route and personally I don't like them. The damping is too light and the spring rates are too soft. It feels like driving a standard stock car.
So I've been looking at the Coilovers from Godspeed. Anyone have any intel on these ? Thanks in advance..
Sounds like you should have listened to XDD. We do all the hard work for you. Thanks for watching.
When you do your brakes soon you should do some steal braided brake lines
Find out tomorrow! Spoiler Alert!!! Of course I changed them for some SS lines!!! This is XDD not some other lame YT channel!!
@@ExtremeDailyDrivers awesome man I honestly can't wait to see the video funny thing is I'm upgrading my brakes and everything to the timing into all this is amazing
I am installing a similar set but I am unsure about the height adjustment. In the portion of your vid where you were using a micrometer, what was the measurement? You didn't seem to have that included.
I just used that tool to ensure it was the same on both sides. The measurement is not important. Just as long as it's the same. You have to mess with it to get it where you want it. No one is going to be able to provide you with the exact measurements that will work for you. Everyone's car is different. It's just trial and error. Good luck.
@@ExtremeDailyDrivers Thanks for the feedback! I ultimately decided that just making them the same was my only viable course. Which ended up being 90mm between the locking nuts. This ended up giving me a measurement of 23.5 in to the top of the fender curve, similarly to your video. I appreciate all of the help that your video and you have given me. Keep up the great work! Cheers!
After watching the video and the struggles you had, Would you still recommend this setup or do you wish you went with another brand?
The struggles were because of me confusing myself during the install. It had nothing to do with CX Racing. So, yes, I would still go with the same brand. I'm just a moron and that's what the problem was.
@@ExtremeDailyDrivers My other question is are reusing the old perches necessary you think that would give you that extra quarter-inch drop? Would love to see an update video in a couple months on how they're holding up and how they're settled!
Keep up the amazing work!
I thought about that and it's possible they are adding to the ride height, however, I also think they are necessary. I remember reading about other xB owners complaining about noise because they didn't reuse the isolaters. I will definitely do a follow up video.
The drop looks good IMO. Once you went on that test drive and said it drives like a new car. I'm so close to pulling the trigger on getting these especially for that price. Do you happen to have the difference in measurements between the Tein drop spring and the lowest setting for the CXracing coilovers in the rear?
I wish. I didn't measure the rear because I was too excited. It's definitely at least an inch lower in the rear. The rear is now 23 1/2 inches, which is 3/4 of an inch higher than the front. Thanks for watching!
I apologize if this has been asked previously, but what is your fitment setup?
I say it in the video.
@@ExtremeDailyDrivers Derp. That's what I get for asking a question before I've finished watching. 😂
How did you avoid camber in the front? I dropped 1.5” and the top is sticking way out
Check out my camber bolt video. 🤘
I think the height is perfect but u need some rims on that box
Ugh, tell me about it!!
Do you recommend them did you keep them that the video is 3 years old
Yea
I have wanted to fix up my toaster for the last 12 years. Now that Im retired I have the chance to do just that. I have wonderd for a while now can I put the new 2.4 liter eng and a 5 speed trans into the 2005 model??? Will it fit or is there a signifigant size differance?
You can do anything you put your mind to. Good luck.
I got maxpeedingrods coilover struts my only problem is how do I adjust the camber?
Watch my camber video!
It probably be just right for mine’s because I have 17” rims on it
Yeah, it's probably perfect for larger wheels.
Could you do vacuum lines video I have a air leak but don’t know where from
I already did. Search "Bouncing idle" in my videos. It's for the Prelude, but it's the same for any car.
Extreme Daily Drivers alright thx💯
How can i send you video or picture of my project i thing you going to like it

i think it looks fine just like that................if you want lower in rear without taking necessary stuff off, then just remove the red adjuster (spinning ring) off the rear perch's.......problem solved.
Yeah, I was going to start with that. We'll see. Thanks for watching.
See...with BC Racing u have more adjustability. The shock with BC Racing can be adjusted lower/ higher.....spend More GET MORE

Good luck with the sale.
Lmao so is it springy or bouncey? Firm? Soft? Lol idk if I wanna do it now. Lol I need new shocks that's for sure. And idk might need to replace the front driver side wheel bearing 😭 lol somuch work. Lol thanks for the video.
It nice and firm. I should have done a better job describing how it's riding. It definitely feels lower and more taut. Handling is massively improved and body roll has been minimized. Thanks for watching!
im taking my 2005 scion xb and making it my first ever project car. I want to get coilovers put on and some new tires before taking on apperance. any tips are anything else that I might need to know before going into this? The stuff that i want is coming out to equal $1,800
Nope. Just watch the video, use scionlife.com and clubxd.com and the Facebook groups for any additional advice. Good luck!
Is there a vid you made of the swaybar in links upgrade?
No, it was way before I started my channel.
Extreme Daily Drivers ah okay. Do you mind explaining the reason for the upgrade?
It will drastically improve your handling. Definitely do it if you haven't already.
Extreme Daily Drivers oh wow good to know! Will definitely look into that as it looks to be a very inexpensive upgrade. Thanks bro! 🙏🏼
