I had to watch this twice because the first time your calm relaxing tone had me napping with my eyes open. Im gonna play this for my grandbaby when he won't stop crying. Im not saying your video was boring so please don't think that. I mean this in the nicest way possible. Thank you!!
I have store bought stiffener but never knew corn starch does the same thing. I’ve made white doilies into flowers and attached them to dowels wrapped in green floral tape and put into a vase. Wish you would have shown them reshaped, dried and staged so everyone can see the final product and your talents. But I can also hear from your voice that you may be afflicted with “craft overdose” and boy, do I get that. Take care and thanks for your efforts.😊
This just showed up today, so I think I'll be back and watch a few more of your videos. I haven't tried stiffening fabric for crafts yet, but it looks like a fun project to try out. I do like the butterflies - I have an old quilt that was falling apart, and I've been using sections of it for other crafts.
Thank you Lisa, a whole lot cheaper this way. You made a video the other day making candles ornaments, you used a quilt for the flames, any suggestions if we don’t have a quilt, would regular fabric stiffened keep its shape or should I sew some batting in my flames?
I'm working on a shadow box with a small child dress and pictures of her in the dress. Would this work to stiffen the dress? And if it dried wrong can I reset and reform it. Thank you so very much.
Thank you for the recipe. We do need to see the finished product which was not shown. I won't take the time to do this unless I know what it looks like after it has finished drying.
I've just recently discovered your channel and had to subscribe! I've enjoyed each video I've watched, especially the ones on shabby chic decor. I'd never heard of it and almost cried when I thought of all the things I threw away that I could be using now! Question: I really want to make my own starch, since Argo is not easy to find and I'm out of cornstarch, so have you ever made fabric starch with flour? If so, is the he recipe the same? I'm headed over to watch your sc bird house video. Again, thank you for sharing your time, talents, and soothing voice. May the Lord God bless you and your family. ✌️♥️🙏
Can you brush this on rather than dip? I need to stiffen a canvas shopping bag to make it stiff and not sure if that would work with this recipe. Thank you.
Hi, just came across your video. This looks like porcelain lace drapping done many years ago. Just wondering doing your process similar to dress a 12” doll giving the same effect?
@@ourshabbycottage8553 I know there's no guarantee, but I'm glad to know you haven't had an issues with mold growth after several months. I need to stiffen a piece of fabric I'd cut out from an old t-shirt for a collage. I just wanted to make sure it wouldn't go moldy any time soon. Did you happen to use a chemical sealant on your fabric afterwards?
Thank you for making this video. I found it very helpful. The piece I am making will hang on the wall. My question is, is this permanent, or should I seal it with something.
thank you so much! I've been looking into fabric-based cosplays recently and this will be really helpful since i really don't know how to sew. this will help a LOT! ❤️
You have such a thick southern accent, which most of us aren't used to hearing, that made you so hard to understand. Could you please repeat this in standard English or with captions. If it wasn't for the vid, I would have missed out. Thanks.
Lisa, I received a comment that looks like it is from you wanting me to contact you on telegram. I know other on you tube channels have had scam post sent from what appears to be their channel. You might let your viewer know you do not have a contest going on. Thanks, wanted you to know.
I would have liked to see the dried result so I could just how stiff this recipe can make things.

Yes, that’s sounds very doable!🙂❤️

I wouldn’t either.😉
Thank you!!!! This is a life saver 😅
No problem!!
Will it make any difference if we wash the product like will it ruin the product or something?
I would think so.
Thank you! ❤️
Thank you so much sweet friend ❤️🙂
I am trying to get wrinkles out of trench coat, what can I do 😢
I’m not sure. Have you tried using a steam iron?

Thank you so much sweet friend❤️. I’m so grateful to have you🙂. I have never made it with flour but maybe there’s a recipe on Pinterest?
Thank you for the suggestion!
I had forgotten about Pinterest. Gasp👀ha
Thank you 😇🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻
Thank you so much sweet friend ❤️🙂
Could you add glitter to this then paint it on the fabric?
I’m sure you could🙂
Thank you!
Thank you so much sweet friend ❤️🙂

I’m sure you could, but it might take a few coats 😊
Brushing can be a bit harder to make it even
Thank you very much.
Thank you so much sweet friend ❤️🙂
Hi, just came across your video. This looks like porcelain lace drapping done many years ago. Just wondering doing your process similar to dress a 12” doll giving the same effect?
I’m not real sure. I’m sorry.
Thank you and God bless!
Thank you sweet friend❤️😊
would this change the color of black fabric? does it work on polyester?
I’m not sure but maybe slightly
We can use it on crochet stuff as well right?? Like to stiff a crochet frame. Will it work??
Probably so😊
Can I spray this on polyester pants to make it a little stiff
I think that could possibly work 😊
Thank you so much I will have to give this a try😊 blessings to you in the name of the Lord Jesus
God bless you as well ☺️❤️
Can you use this over and over or on the day the make it?
I haven’t tried it, but I would think you could use it over and over.
can i use these for shoes? i mean makeing shoe stiffneres with this...can i?!
I’m sorry I’m really not sure. I wish I could ❤️
Thanks for sharing. Easy enough...I was making it more complicated ,in my mind, then it was 😂😂😂
Thank you so much sweet friend ❤️. It is very simple😉
Can I use it on rope baskets
I would think so🙂
Can you reuse a day later or do you need to make fresh each time
I haven’t tried keeping it so I’m not sure.
I think maybe it should be fresh
Is this ok to use on tulle? I need to make tulle stiff after painting it
I think that would work.
@@ourshabbycottage8553 thank you, will try it
Thank you
🇬🇧x
Thank you so much sweet friend ❤️🙂
Would this work if I want to fold the fabric like paper?
I haven’t tried that but maybe it could
Name of the powder?
Cornstarch
Can you wash this and itll stay stiff? or will it unstiffen in the wash?
I’m sure it would unstiffen in the wash.
Hi! If you use this method for a fabric used for a craft, will it eventually get moldy? That's my biggest concern.
I have fabric I used this on several months ago and I haven’t had that issue yet. Of course that’s not a guarantee🙂

@@scootermom1791 I didn’t but when you know it’s completely dry, it’s not a bad idea.
is it waterproof? i mean if we make it wet will it not get soft after once get dried.
I wouldn’t expect it to be waterproof. I think it Madison not Madison but Ashlyn when she was might get soft again.
Thank you for making this video. I found it very helpful.
The piece I am making will hang on the wall.
My question is, is this permanent, or should I seal it with something.
I’m pretty sure it’s permanent
@ourshabbycottage8553 Oh excellent.
Thank you again. 😊
Thanks for the demonstration, but I wish you would have shown the fabric after it was dried to see the stiffness.
Sorry about that
thank you so much! I've been looking into fabric-based cosplays recently and this will be really helpful since i really don't know how to sew. this will help a LOT! ❤️
Thank you dear friend. I’m not the best at sewing either❤️😉
Thank you sweet friend. I’m not good at sewing either❤️😉
can u spray it on then iron over it?
I’m not sure.
Wow… this is quick and easy. 😂 I just wasted $4 buying fabric stiffener at HL.
Oh no! Sorry I didn’t post this in time😉

We didn't even see the results

Thank you so much! I reported them. I’ll also mention it on my next video.
Can this be sprayed on macrame?
I haven’t tried but I’m sure it could
Does this work for tulle and chiffon?
I’m sure it would😊
