RIGHT!?>!?!? Your videos are also awesome Troy. Speaking of your videos....where the fuck you been???? Do you have another RUclips channel no one knows of???
I really miss playing drums, I haven't played for more than 3 years and the truth is that this man reminds me how much I love playing drums. I know that one day, with the favor of God, I will be playing again and enjoying the way Cris does.
I'm a drummer of near twenty years and I'm not famous nor in a musical career. Yet I practice most days anyways. The biggest challenge I ever faced was continued practice even though that time spent didn't translate into financial return or peer recognition. Despite this I'm mostly joyful that I've kept the instrument in my life because of how I find expression for my own creativity and how when practicing or playing I feel released and stress free. Bring drums back, I actively encourages you here via my words of experience. If you expect something from it you might create an obstacle to you continuing it at all. If you find zen and personal pleasure you might develop a side of you that otherwise would have been neglected. It's satisfying beyond what we might think. I love it like I had the first day I started. Get it back in your life I'm saying to you as friendly and earnest advice
Here is what I consider the top drummer in the game. Able to play crazy stuff beyond comprehension. Yet there he is! Laying down the straight groove. Showing simplicity in such a beautiful way that it looks complex. Then BAM! Hits you right in the kisser to remind you he's got top level speed and technique. I love it all!
Eh. Matt Garstka. Check him out. Nothing against this guy but I don't consider him "top of the game ". (Just my opinion. ;) but my only thing about both of these drummers that really gets to me... is the fact that they don't play Sabian! Lol
Chris I don't know if you'll see this message or not, but watching you play makes me beyond happy. It makes me realize that no matter what life I've chosen for myself, no matter how I'm ever feelin, I can always reach out and reach others through the power of music and feel that contentedness I see you have at the very end. Everything you do is just so musical, right down to individual hit velocities, so you always seem to be a true part of a track rather than a rhythmic element. Thank you so much for your inspiration and the hard work you've put in to be at this level. Hope to meet or at least see you in the future so I can thank you in person. Cheers!
Everything in the video, the music, the cameras, the sound, the composition, the soundtrack, his performance, that type of music everything in this is a love letter to musicianship. His level of talent is already proven by the years. He has nothing to prove anymore. He reached his Valhalla. Kudos for him.
This is my first listen to Chris Coleman...........I have heard other artists refer to him, but.............this is my first exposure. I am completely impressed! The phrasing is brilliant...........along with technically superb! Chris just went onto my list of favorite drummers (after one listen)!!!!
OK, I have listened to this about 8-9 more times.............and just a little more impressed each time I hear (if that is even possible). That paraddidle break is the middle of the song is genius! I am still laughing out loud over Sam Slater's comment about him playing his own superhero theme........that is pretty much exactly what is going on here!!!
One man who uses his bizeps for the right thing. To inspire other human to start their own stuff. Nice to see, how much meaning one person can put in one so simple word. Thanks for the inspiration. Greetings from germany.
+Thurman Ulrich A lot of them get unfairly judged because they are in a genre that allows for very minimal deviation from the style. However, you'd be remiss in believing that Roddy, Kollias, Haake or a few of the virtuoso type players of the genre can't play other styles effectively and convincingly.
@@hermanmelville3871 I always tried to get a ton of my metal friends on board with the album King of All Kings by Hate Eternal and a lot of them didn't like it much. Roddy is fucking sick!
Good God I love this guy!💓. The pure joy on his face when he jokes and smiles!! He's in his own universe. He just makes you wanna keep playin if for no other reason but to have fun doin it. Thank you Chris Coleman👍👍👍👍
I'm actually a fan of a lot of the younger "hot" drummers out now but this sounds like a grown man who has seen it all and knows how to season it with taste. the portions where he plays the groove makes you really appreciate the solos and licks.
The drum equivalent of Satriani, technically excellent but still warm and eloquent, with a powerful groove and overflowing with skill. So nice to float away with.
Scott Wilson that is such a great assessment. Both Satriani and Coleman are expert players but shine further more because their composition skills are amazing :)
Chris, you are such a fine drummer. But, more importantly, you always look like you're enjoying yourself and having big fun with those huge grins. Good for you !
Senor Gamer you know a drummer is good when he makes you think of your favorite video game I was thinking a new boss theme for Street fighter 5 it would be epic especially 3.24 until the end it can be for the final round
Chris Coleman...you are so entertaining to watch. I 1st notice you when you were playing for Chaka Khan. Your were flawless that night. I can't tell you how much I wish I could play like that.
My boy Chris Coleman just slayed!!! Production, Video, and Audio = Great !!! Chris Coleman = SUPERB. Bravo as always my man and don't get me started on the cymbals. #MeinlRocks
So much I want to say about this!! So much musicality! He left room in the music that created so much anticipation for the face shredding chops. So much control! Self control. Beautiful performance! Bravo!!!
Every possible drum fill, chop, or roll scenario you could think of, and this man not only did it ages ago, but he's got them figure it out before you could ever dream, or think up of one. It's like he's the "yoda" of drums..
The section from 3:23 with the snare drum paradiddle triplets moved to the toms is what I will be working on. I believe I can succeed too or I wouldn't even try. Really well done Chris. Your interpretation is great - open spaces too, not killin it wide open throughout. And what a drum set! Oh yeah, cymbals too. Can't leave Meinl out.
Man, I gotta say, if I watch you play at least once a day, it makes my day filled with positive thoughts and ideas for the remainder. Thank you for your love of the instrument. You are genuinely passionate about it with no ego at all. What an ultimate place to be. Pure!! And that's thee essence of greatness.
Max Friesen he says tool because tool is influenced by Progressive rock. And since tool is likely the only Prog band he listens too, he could only compare this to tool. "Tool but with Nintendo music" is basically a definition of Prog anyway lol. This what Coleman is playing is more like jazz fusion/Prog tho
After 7 years ago…I’m here watching again 😌
Chris Coleman the G.O.A.T
😂 yes i also watched it today again. Sorry there is no G.O.A.T in drumming just several superdrummers like him
@@zulu5157 me too. Here seven years and watching again.
This has got to be one of the single greatest drum performances of all time. Chris Coleman is the mannnnnn
The man is so rhythmic that he even smiles in time. He's built different.
Best comment i´v seen
Gift From God.
Great guy from Michigan that I had the pleasure of growing up with no doubt at all
Well that was an absolute pleasure to watch!
We love you, Troy!

6 years late here but I couldn't agree more! Absolutely one of the most inspiring musicians I've ever found
My jaw drops to the floor every single time I see this man playing. Chris is such a god at this instrument.
Everything in the video, the music, the cameras, the sound, the composition, the soundtrack, his performance, that type of music everything in this is a love letter to musicianship.
His level of talent is already proven by the years. He has nothing to prove anymore. He reached his Valhalla. Kudos for him.
One of the ABSOLUTE best drummers ever. Mind blowing❤️
I've heard dozens of other top tier drummers, but this guy is the absolute embodiment of pocket. Absolutely astounding.
Im speechless. That was so good. Amazing. My favourite drummer of all time. Chris is pure talent, pure inspiration.
The tension & release concept taken to a galactic level at 03:23 to 04:02. Chris is pure gold.
03:10 = wait for it..... 03:23 = GO!!!!!!!
Stratospheric indeed, you could make some electricity of it
If you think this is good, wait until you hear him WITHOUT A MUSIC SOUNDTRACK. He is much better than this.
You are right!!
He has no groove.. He IS the groove.
Stunning!
Hell yeah
Impressive!

ドラムやった事無いから分からないけど、この人のドラムは力強くて音が安定してて質が凄く良い、クオリティ半端ない。
This is truly one of the greatest drumming performances in history.
🤣🤣
INDEED..............

This is what a COMPLETE drummer looks like. Not a single weakness in his playing.
So he has no big white whale to conquer?

you put Chris on any genre of music you could think of and i'm sure he will deliver a good performance....without a doubt.

Amazing talent! He seems to have a playful/joyful personality as well!
He's basically the happiest guy you could ever hope to meet. 🙂
Chris Coleman is a BEAST !!!!!!!! This is so great on so many levels. My GAWD !!!!!!! - Mike , a bass player ( Honorary drummer )
I remember when I went to a drum clinic and got to play drums with this guy! He's an amazing drummer and person
really looking forward to this video to hit a million views. Chris Coleman deserves it
Good to see Kaz's tracks gaining more traction!
If I ever make a movie in the future, please let me use this PERFECT song in the soundtrack lol!!! Kaz Rodriguez and Chris Coleman are LEGENDS.
And that's the definition of "owning" a tune. Hot damn!
Emotional Content that hits all by itself.....like a finger pointing away to the moon....in all of it's heavenly glory....
It's like he's playing to his own superhero theme
+Sam Slater LoL
Haha so true.
Exactly! :D
More like Pokemon Chop!
That is hysterical!!!! .......and oh so true!

Really tight, very very aliken of that regimental playing of GH, Coleman has that new age playing...!
CHRIS! wow such power and SO CLEAN emotion is so nice and clean wow this is a beautiful exposition!
I got so focused on this brilliant performance that somehow I found this music quite relaxing even though it is very energetic...
You sir have mastered the art of tasteful yet insanely awesome drumming.
Intensity, speed, control, accuracy, passion = one bad ass master of the kit
Yes! I love Chris Colemans style. So happy to see this in my sub box.
Chris, you are such a fine drummer. But, more importantly, you always look like you're enjoying yourself and having big fun with those huge grins. Good for you !
so, this is how metal sounds without distortion...
The more I listen the more accurate this becomes...
And without the Super Gain
This doesn't sound anything like metal. Also who tf distorts a drum kit?
Aidan Low I feel like you were really tired when you said this
Be nice to understand anything you where talking about. I just appreciate the music so much.
Chris Coleman's got to be the only drummer in the world with a 100% positive comment section :D
Please never stop inspiring us..
Sounds like a video game music! Love it.

So much I want to say about this!! So much musicality! He left room in the music that created so much anticipation for the face shredding chops. So much control! Self control. Beautiful performance! Bravo!!!
Very refreshing to see a drummer with technique like Chris play matched grip! 1:10 to 1:23 is some sick shit.
Those SONOR DRUMS and MIENL cymbals are a match made in heaven.
Makes me regret giving up playing and has given me the itch to start again!!
Every possible drum fill, chop, or roll scenario you could think of, and this man not only did it ages ago, but he's got them figure it out before you could ever dream, or think up of one. It's like he's the "yoda" of drums..
not many drummers can hang with Chris's tom rolls.

God of drum! Simplesmente INCRÍVEL
The expression. ..."killin'... is really defined here. Chris this among many of your featured kicks takes the top! Clean!
Insane precised with a strength .... amazing work!!!I´m catched! amd happy about a sonor kit!! It`s not a trick, it`s SONOR!!! xxx
Awesome! Mind blowingly skilled, lightning fast, hard hitting, powerful, ultra-precise, commanding - yet perfectly flowing - awesome sound as well. Beyond top notch!
I must have backed up to 3:10 fifty times. Hysterical! Awesome performance!
He's a Beast!

What a monster bro! 🔥🔥
I wish I could give this another thumbs up every time I watch this :D
Me too, I'm playing like that !.... And then, I take off my earplugs, and finally, it's absolutly not the same... x)
That kit was just OWNED!!
Muito bom! 🇧🇷
All this and and getting Wales to the Euro 2016 tournament. That is what I call talent!
Excuse my language, but this Kaz Rodriguez track is fucking sick.
He looks like he's having so much fun ! and I can see why. awesome video !

Chris doing his solo is perfect for the main character and the main enemy to fight with
In a Medieval movie
Fuckin love this dude. Great work Chris.

Is it just me or did anyone else see their soul go to heaven at 3:23?😳😳
DDrummerJones bro yes when those rolls came in I was floating right on up
Only if you are truly saved.
Fantastic drumming over a fantastic song...some parts remind me of Jazz Jack Rabbit 2...wow...that vibe with this perfect drumming...
