    I especially liked this video! Tremendously good advice. I swear by the exercise outside, everday, as much as possible! ! It truly keeps the blues and mental "cobwebs " at bay.
    I love to light candles in warm, spicy scents. Warm mulled cider or herbal teas give great boost and are very comforting. One other thing I did for my family this past winter was decorate for "winter". We fill the house with Christmas but then it all gets put away and everything is bare! And sad! So I left out bits of frosted greenery, berries, pine cones, etc. to "up" the cheer factor. Signed : Hope-full in Hope, Indiana.

    You are so right about negativity affecting the immune system. I have noticed the times when I have been through tremendous stress I have always come down with some big illness. Mental health is so important for a healthy body.

    I'm LOVING your channel! Thank you so much for producing this content for all of us. This last year I did a project to see how much waste I produced in one year. I have a huge box full of products. These are just beauty, hygiene, cleaning, and laundry supplies. This project put things into perspective for me, and I now know that going zero waste is the best option and really the only option. I appreciate your videos, you are helping me go waste free in 2019!

      Hi Kendra, thanks for the message. That is great to hear. Well done. becoming away of waste is great because it puts it all into perspective. I'm delighted the videos help. Let me know how you get on in the new year and remember to go easy on yourself because there is no way to be completely zero waste.x

    I'm glad you mentioned a full night's sleep .. very important. I disagree about the warm water though. I'm trying to lose weight so I figure the extra energy I expend in warming up water and cold foods and keeping the thermostat low is a good thing.

    I wear a mask every time I go out. Also, cut a onion in half. Place one half by the door and other half near your favorite chair or bed. It catches viruses before they can catch you. Worked last winter for me!

      Which country do you live in?
      Sounds polluted if you have to wear a mask even in winter.
      In Switzerland we have a dry
      winter. I eat well, always have
      a flu injection and take Bronco
      Vaxom over three months and
      luckily never get flu or colds.

    At home sick with a cold right now, do you have any suggestions for replacing things like cough drops? I feel terrible for using them with all the packaging so I would love to know of any alternative. Your channel is really wonderful, thanks so much for sharing all these great tips and tricks!

    • @FairylandCottage
      @FairylandCottage  6 лет назад +6

      Brittany sorry to hear that you are sick , the clove bud is known to be a natural cough drop. It's anti inflammatory anti viral and anti bacterial. Just suck a few in your mouth(if you like the taste) until there is no flavour left. If your throat is sore gargle 1/4 tsp salt with 1/2 tsp turmeric and pinch of cayenne pepper in one cup warm water. Gargle for 30seconds or as long as you can and repeat a few times during the day. This is what I do anyway. I hope this helps and remember don't feel bad if you need to get medicine because you can't always be zero waste if you're super ill! X

    • @Brittany-zh8om
      @Brittany-zh8om 6 лет назад

      Fairyland Cottage oh my goodness, you're so sweet! Thank you so much for the quick response. I do believe I have all those things in the pantry and I'm excited to give them a try. I especially like cloves so this might even be a bit of a treat, haha! Thanks again, you've been a great help 😃👍

      Hi there Joy, that's a good question. I don't specifically have a root vegetable recipe. sorry. I make big pots of soups with all the root vegetables like parsnips, carrots, potato. You can roast the veg first to make it a stronger flavour.
