Considering how much we suffered with the Muk thing Im happy to see it really helped you haha. The mimic Psychic thing and the fisherman seaking are kinda 2 staples in many of my runs so Im glad to see they helped you! Doing these runs alongside you was very fun and challenging at the same time, loved it!. Amazing video, loved every bit of it and knowing I was able to help you makes it all the more worthwhile. Incredible work, thank you Scott!
Arbok is one of my favorite Pokemon and honestly I think it did really good. For a Poison type with no boosting move it still has a ton of game honestly. Really awesome video.
I remember running through pokemon yellow with a Muk on my team as a kid.. It will forever be one of my favorites, it may have made the game a lot harder but the cuteness of Muk made it all worth it ❤
1:57:50 Scott said that the Pinsir/Scyther results would be spoiled. But that Pinsir must be named John Cena, because I cannot see him on that tier list.
Really enjoyed the video. Especially liked the in depth analysis on how bad certain resets were and how you worked with people in the community to overcome your biases. Keep up the great work Scott!
I really want to state how much I appreciate the amount of efforts you put into getting an optimal run for every pokemon so that you can really compare their times at their best. That's the one thing that made you my favourite poketuber. I started watching you when you started because I liked your optimism and general positive energy, but you were definitely someone I watched on the side when I had spare time. Now your gen 1 & 2 videos are by far the ones I look forward to the most. (not gen3+ because I never finished playing those games so I can't really follow them the same way) So anyways, thanks for doing all that work for the most polished results you can get. It's very much appreciated.
I nailed the order! I even thought that Arbok and Weezing would be close and that Muk definitely wouldn't win. But brags aside, wow, the increase in quality over the years has just been astounding. I really wish that you would get 100k subs already. No challenge run channel deserves it more. Literal days and days (weeks, maybe, at this point?) of top quality content.
It's a shame that there isn't really a moveslot available for Mega Drain on Arbok vs Giovanni, maybe the Rhydon wouldn't have been so dangerous if it could've fit in. Great runs though, super interesting to see Weezing do things compared to its prevo!
Koffing and Wheezing are like us growing up, starting smiling and all, evolving, and already tired of adulting ! Great video, loved the back to back comparison, data and all !
Your tier list is missing Pinsir from A tier every time you show it during this video. Scyther is still there in C tier, but in a different spot than you had it during the Scyther video.
Your raw analysis and dedication to this is really a tier above other similar channels, I can't stress it enough. Your results feel far more definitive than other channels and you provide much more legitimate insights. At the same time, you keep your humility and are transparent with your own errors, which is funny to me when you are so much more thorough than other channels. Well done!
The poison types of gen 1 and two are amongst my favorite.. too bad poison was so weak in those generations. Love you vids still.. this channel has come so far and im glad to have been here to watch
@@ScottsThoughtsPokemon Oh, also for getting better at the bag. You could always add it somewhere to your overlay! But like...I dunno not the actual overlay overlay, something like when you have RBY xp router on a different monitor.
honestly starting with Absorb (and then Growth at level 4) will REALLY help Sunkern out, as well as getting Mega Drain at level 10 other than Falkner, it basically becomes a healing wall then throw in some sunny day / synthesis stuff (and the ability to learn SludgeBomb), and you can potentially "wall" out the opponent for a bit - it's not completely awful and has a fairly linear moveset (Curse/Growth, Return, Synthesis, SludgeBomb/MegaDrain) which it will mostly have post-Morty for the entire game
I bet there was an insane amount of effort to make these but I absolutely love them, top tier RUclips content, and I love the Gen I poison types! I haven't seen it all yet but I'm rooting for Weezing
I love the artwork for the Raticate Sandwich trainer. XD Anyways, I'm really impressed by the results, especially for Arbok! I was not expecting it to do as well as it did, let alone take the crown in this 3 way race! Great job, Scott and team! This was a well done video. I was really surprised that relying on wrap didn’t hold Arbok back at all. With it being such a weak multi turn move, I expected that to really bloat its time. Anyhow, great job Scott!
This is one of my favourite VS videos that you've done. All three of these playthroughs were interesting, fairly competitive, and had some cool optimizations. IIRC I voted for Weezing in the poll (I always vote based purely on vibes in the poll), but after seeing the moves and stats at the start of the video, I figured Arbok had a decent shot with its Wrap and coverage.
These are always fun. If love to see you compare an itemless rub with a pokemon to one using x items and healing items just as a demonstration as to why you don't use them normally.
I find it a bit weird and annoying how the Sludge Pokémon made entirely of sludge doesn't get Sludge as one of its starting moves but gets Poison Gas while the Poison Gas Pokémon doesn't get Poison Gas at all but has Sludge has one of its starting moves...
@@weaponizedemoticon1131 All the more reason it should learn it, considering how early nearly everything gets Body Slam and how late you can actually find the line, lol.
One reason I like videos like this is the chance to see certain mon’s backsprites. I never used Muk in gen 1 so this is the first time seeing the backsprite. Also, good job on the layout- just a ridiculous amount of information on display
The Rapping Lass would be proud of the final Arbok solo (the only real complaint I have is I wish you did more training so that you could outspeed Sabrina’s Alakazam), all in all this was a wonderful and spooky monster mash!
Two observations, mainly with Arbok - don't think it'll change the time much but might add to the consistency: 1. When you've wittled down their health with wrap, you don't need the damage output from rock slide. Use earthquake to guarantee the KO instead of risking a 10% miss. I've noticed you do it a lot with other play through as well using a non 100% move when you have a 100% move that is strong enough to knock them out. 2. This is less important and might not actually be useful, but I noticed you stopped using mega drain on the second playthrough. Obviously it wasn't necessary in the end but you could increase the consistency even in a couple battles like Giovanni's Rhydon or Lorelei as an example. Over time you might find something better but fantastic job with what you have so far! Crazy video, great effort. For all our sakes, please keep looking after yourself, that one must have been exhausting!
Nicely done, that was one of a kind versus race. 😮Weezing had surprised me the most with it's raw damage output alone. It is definitely a force to be recon with. 39:13 regarding the time wasted opening the bag: What I usually do when I have these sort of chaotic orders, is break them down in smaller lists or brackets. For Pokémon there exist lists of items appearing on each route/ in each city. You can use those as a baseline, clean the ones you never pick up, and place the remaining ones in order of how you would normally do the routes. Since most routes and items stay the same for each Pokémon, OR the items are used immediately and will always be at the bottom of the backpack, you will essentially very quickly have a good understanding of where the item should be in the item list. And from that, you will quickly learn where it is exactly. It's low hanging fruit regarding preparation time, but could safe a lot of time (and your nerves since you don't think you waste time anymore). Hope this helps. Also, thanks for the runs
