- The Police Station television series takes you into Precinct 11, and the stories that take place in one night. In this episode tough cops put up with wife beaters, molesters, and robbers. Three stories unfold as these police officers deal with all this on the night beat. Rugged TV crime drama you won't want to miss. All I could find for this episode's name in the film is Episode #4. It seems there is little information naming the individual episodes available. Cast includes Baynes Barron, Larry Kerr, Henry Beckman, and Roy Wright. Directed and written by Sandy Howard. Sandy Howard produced or directed several television series in the 1950's, including Howdy Doody, Night Court, Congressional Investigator, and Mack and Myer for Hire, to name a few. He produced feature films later in his career, including the feature film A Man Called Horse. Mastered from 16mm b-w film. We have another episode of Police Station on Moviecraft Inc. • Police Station 1959. A...
This is a brave show, for the times. People didn't talk about things like alcoholism, child molestation, or domestic abuse.
The noir movement got around the Hayes CODE
As long as people were caught
The word "pregnancy" was taboo on TV. Yeah, this was cutting edge drama back then.
That's not accurate. Communities did talk about it and took specific steps against such activities long before TV and movies.
There was no child molestation in this show, he molested a woman.....
Thank you for the background explanation. You are correct, there were many short run television programs during the 1950s. Many of which should have lasted longer. This has a good "The average night of" storyline. Who knows how long that could hold its own. But then, it is one of many that led to "Dragnet" and other now classic series'. Thanks for posting.
Appreciate your input. Glad you enjoyed it.
Dragnet T.V. and radio shows predate Police Station. The opening narration and scenes is a direct copy of Dragnet. However still a very good show and thanks.
I recently bought the "Harbor Command" series. Really well made show and my favorite of the procurals. I outgrew "Dragnet" in the 70's. I can't stand Harry Morgan or Jack Webb.
🎥Thank you for this wonderful gem! 😮💯💫👍!
Our pleasure!
This was a forerunner to Hill Street Blues it was almost identical 🚔🚔🚔🚔
Interesting comparison...
"You've been in here 25 times in the past year. Believe me, the guys really like you." So funny! Not meant to be, I'm sure.
The drunk was the most convincing.
No one in handcuffs & they walk around the police station.
After Miranda v. Arizona (1966), everything said by the alleged wife beater in the police station would have been excluded at trial since he had requested the assistance of an attorney.
Oddly, only the 4 main cast members are credited. Can anyone identify any of the guest cast?
If anyone can identify the guest cast we will add it to the description...Thanks!
Probably all appeared on "Perry Mason" at least once.
I enjoy what you post, but your theme music is perky and chirpy and intensely annoying. And it’s too loud.
If you would like to compose new into music I would be glad to consider it. An mp3. would be suitable.
@@MoviecraftInc a masterful show and thank you.The only thing wrong with your music is it comes on way too loud....AND GET OFF OF MY LAWN !!!
We do our best to match the intro music with the audio levels of the TV show...☺☺
25:12: He should've been convicted for the murder of his unborn child also. Thanks for the upload.
A serious Night Court?
If I may ask - How did you know this was episode #4?
On the motion picture film of TV shows there is countdown and tail leaders. If they are intact then there is episode information written on the negative at the lab, which is then printed on the film leaders themselves. On this 16mm film it is written Police Station #4. In many case after the episode number there would also be an episode title to identify the film. In this case there was no further information on the leaders. Hope that explains it.
Thanks. I was just wondering if there's a way I could determine it myself, but it sounds like I'd need to have the original film in hand. Would you happen to know the number of the other episode that y'all had posted some time ago?
The other episode we posted did not have the original leaders. There was no identification of an episode number anywhere on the film.
What a neat little show, in crisp B&W.
