UPDATE: For another alcohol free option that stays clear, try out Cyclomethicone. I just used it today & it gave me a crystal clear result. Use 90% Cyclomethicone and 10% Fragrance of choice. Link is down below. www.elementsbathandbody.com/Cyclomethicone.html

I scouted youtube to find your video, lol. Im screaming THANK YOU!!! I'm a small business owner who up until now only sold candles. In late 2023, a small cleaning business reached out to me & forced me to step out of my comfort zone when they asked me to make room sprays. After sifting through many videos I found yours and have gotten nothing short of amazing feedback with the samples I presented to my now business partners. We signed our contract last month and production begins this week for the sprays. Your recipe is amazing and I love the fact you're not using distilled water or a spray base. I truly want to give you your flowers. Thank you, thank you, thank you 💜 I'm now growing my business with confidence and still maintaining quality.
Hi~ I know Im late lol but I reverse engineered the recipe and thought ya'll might want it. So technically since the outcome is 4.235 oz and you can set the recipe to about 3.20 oz to get around 3.5 oz. However, you may want more accuracy especially if you intend to do larger quantities of this recipe. Here is the true ratio for those that want it (roughly, minus the longer line of numbers in the percent): 0.826% glycerine 57.851% alcohol 8.264% FO 16.528% poly 80 16.528% witch hazel (99.997% total) So if you want to make it actually 3.5 oz, you will need: 0.028 oz glycerine 2.024 oz alcohol 0.289 oz FO 0.578 oz poly 80 0.578 oz witch hazel Hope this helps~
You’re not late. Thank you so much. I was like “wait…the math is not mathing” 😂 But I think if you’re making large batches it becomes less of an issue because whatever you end up having in excess could always end up being your tester bottle. So following those ratios as given works. Especially since the fragrance oil is meant to be adjustable. Also…for anyone who wants to do this in grams….1 fluid oz is about 23.3 grams of ethanol.
@Nicole Johnson according to the cdc the percentage of alcohol needed to disinfect is 60% so maybe just add 2.2% more to make it up to 60% at least. I spotted that too and I think i'll do it at 60% instead if 57.851% and adjust the witchhazel to accomodate it. I'm also going to use less fragrance as most my suppliers recommend no more than 5% for body use. Check safe usage rates from your supplier. good luck x
I mix equal parts FO & Poly 80 with no separation. I don’t use glycerin for room spray it’s not needed. I use it for my body sprays. Enjoyed your video.

Hi Jessica, Im a newbie here and i cannot tell you how much ive learned from all your videos...im a huge fan...since i live across the globe its really hard sourcing all the right materials from the states but your videos and advice helps narrow things down immensely....just a question would you rather use the Cyclomethicone formula or the other recipe?? im using the WWC fragrance oils would love to know which ones would work best ... thanks once again and i cant wait to see your future videos:)
Thanks for making this video and providing guidance on making room sprays. However I have a question. In your video, you said to use 10% fragrance oil, double this (20%) for polysobate 80, 70% for perfumer's alcohol. This makes it 100% already. Then you add 20% Witch hazel, which makes the total 120%. Shouldn't it all total 100%?
When using only 7% fragrance, everything adds up to 100 %. Just adjust by reducing 1 to 3% the alcool if you want to add more than 7% fragrance. I hope it helps.
now the trick for me will be how to double, triple this to make 12-24 bottles... btw this came out beautifully i ordered one spray bottle to try this out followed as instructed except for the glycerin so far it looks good smells great in 7 days i will see what i get. thanks
@@krystalpagan6091 honestly there was nothing wrong with it. The spray is still clear the fragrance is holding up great. With I little common sense I think we can make it right. My guess is fragrance, poly 80, glycerin and preservative are all required at that percentage In concept. And the alcohol and water or witch hazel can be looked at like a base that used 70 to 20 ratio. Which for our purpose would break down to 15% water and 53% alcohol. That’s if your using 200 proof alcohol if you using something like a 91% of course that would change.
She's talking about 10% of the size of this entire formula, which is 3.5 oz. If you're using 10% of 3.5 oz, it is 0.35 oz. She explained that clear as day in this video.
What was the website that you said to check the essential oils to see if they’re skin safe? I couldn’t understand what you said bc the audio was muffled and you did not show a link?

Hi Temitope did you every find an answer for this?
It's very confusing. Also if swapping the alcohol for witchhazel at 90% and fo at 10% then there is no room left for poly 80 or anything else.
When using only 7% fragrance, everything adds up to 100 %.
Just adjust by reducing 1 to 3% the alcool if you want to add more than 7% fragrance.

Hi! Did you get an answer? I love those
@@Jon_crypto_ no!
They are from Sixteen Seventeen
@@CorneliaODwyer thank you!
@@CorneliaODwyerthank I so much!
The math doesn’t add up. If you use 10% FO, double that of poly which is 20%, 70% alcohol, 20% witch hazel, and 1% glycerine, that’s 121%
Exactly 😂
FO isn't always safe at 10% either.
Thank you , please can you share how to make reeds diffuser?
Hi, thank you for the recipe! Can I reduce alcohol content in this recipe and replaced will more witch hazel? Thanks!
Is it okay to mix perfumer’s alcohol or denatured alcohol with baking soda?
If I’m adding baking soda, at which stage would I add it? I added it last and it sits at the bottom.
What was the website that you said to check the essential oils to see if they’re skin safe? I couldn’t understand what you said bc the audio was muffled and you did not show a link?
How would this formula work if I’m using a base that includes both the alcohol and witch hazel and I will also be adding water??
Can you tell me please does this receipe preserve the botanicals? Also, can you please tell me a good place to buy good botanicals to put in this mix? Thank you.
These botanicals are all purchased on Amazon, they are dried already so no extra steps needed. I think my Amazon store is in the description box, I have a whole list of the botanicals I use
How long does the scent last after spraying when using essential oils?
Thank you.
Great video, what we're the websites you mentioned?
Oh! I forgot to put them in the description box lol IFRA data sheets can be found wherever you purchased your oils from, but the essential oil usage rates can be found at www.eocalc.com
Hi Jessica, what kind of botanicals did you put in these sprays, are they preserved already, where do you get from?
I get the from Amazon ♥️ and yes they are preserved already
Great Video👍🏻 only 1 part is not understand. May I know why it is 0.35 ?
Hi! Are you talking about the IFRA with essential oils? If so check out this video I made and skip to 2 minutes in, I go over it in more detail in this video. If you have more questions let me know!

I made this recipe and it's so easy to follow. However, I think the alcohol is a little overwhelming. If I reduce the alcohol to say 60%, which ingredient should I increase? Thanks.
I reduced the alcohol that much and was still fine with everything else how it is.
@@GlazedBoujieWaxCo Thanks
Can I use the fragrance oils I use for my soy candles? I don't want my spray to be skin safe, just making them for my room.
