- In the wake of the Casey review, the Met’s continuous failings to root out the bad apples of the institution have come to light. The review highlighted how the vetting process for both new recruits and basic vetting checks once in the force have been of poor standard.
The known toxic culture embedded in the Metropolitan police leads to a knock on effect of problems. One of which is the task of vetting out the officers who are using their position in power to abuse victims. Disgraced former Met police officers, Wayne Couzens and David Carrick are key examples of two men who used their badge to control and coerce their victims.

Whilst officers keep their toxic 'code on silence' nothing will change. It has to change from the top.
Dismantle it and make them re-apply for their jobs with proper vetting, split them all up into different teams, protect whistleblowers.
Rad - Very good - But exactly WHO deals with crime, etc whilst all this dismantling and "proper" vetting goes on?
And just WHO would do the dismantling and the remantling(?) and the vetting??
Unfortunately the type of men who behavior in a perfect matter aren’t capable of active and physical policing. Women aren’t strong enough and usually need men to back them up.
Baroness Casey mentioned this in an interview. After her Review in 2023, she plans to evaluate progress after two and 5 years, in the worst case, the met must be restructured into many smaller forces according to her.
The Casey Review is brutal, but worth reading.
I'm from a country without an institution like the IOPC and while it's far from perfect in the UK, at least there seems to be more transparency and a public demand for change.

This is all about poor leadership, get rid of key leaders who have allowed this toxic culture to flourish.
The worst aspect of these corrupt police is being totally overlooked. So many innocent victims are locked in prison it ain’t funny.

They need UN soldiers on the streets now I think with Permits for certain parts of the public to move around as this has got put of control and i honesty think another Lockdown is needed now to combat this .

So, this problem of toxic masculinity is not just in the USA. I pray both countries, and indeed all countries who arm men, find a lasting solution.

Yes but the world is built on lies one of the police main jobs is to uphold those lies there was a time where the police were called crime prevention officers and now they are order out of chaos officers
It all stems from childhood trauma being bullied or both that's why they join plus the money creates a monster the background checks should be from their childhood, not previous employees.

Maybe they should get rid of police or atleast downgrade them and get the Army on the streets with maybe martial Law , Lockdowns are definitely needed for everyone with permits to leave for work and that's it then there would be less crime on the streets 🤔
Reform but dont make America's mistake and defund the police. Root out corruption but dont throw the baby out with the bathwater. Be measured & thoughtful in justice but dont go off the deep end to the opposite extreme. Not an all or nothing approach.
Reform is going to be incredibly difficult
