Keep in mind that a down slope on the in-room measurement is wanted rather than a flat neutral line. Anything flat on the in-room response will sound overly bright. In this case, the Edifier does a better job, especially in those crucial areas from 1khz - 7khz.
MR4 has a built in DSP. It makes the drivers sounding better by compensating non linear parts of the curve. Obviously, MR4 sounds better than a non DSP corrected speaker. Its not about the price, its about technology.
that adds latency if you use these for tracking with a synth or guitar plugin which is something many people will do. Then you don't know if the mackie do the same as well. Sony has been doing it since the 90s. Anything with a Bluetooth or optical in has a dac and chip insode by default.
il loooove my eris 4.5 but often my mix sound perfect on my eris and too close on other systems. For the rest, they have so much emotions in the sound....
They seem very precise to the original track through my earbuds, they add no character whatsoever and they don't quite deliver the bass. The CR4s OTOH give the tone a little warmth and resonance and hit a little deeper that the MR4s. MR4s would be great for mixing music but the mackies nicer for listening on.
Note that the left & right channels of both pairs of speakers here have been reversed, with the result that natural 3D stereo imaging & realism is lost during music playback and both pairs of speakers are not really sounding at their best. The speaker having volume, bass & treble controls and input/power indicator is known as the active speaker. This is the right channel speaker and should be positioned on the right, while the other speaker without similar controls and indicator is the passive speaker which plays the the left channel and should therefore be positioned on the left. It is absolutely vital to ensure correct placement of left and right speakers to enjoy your music or movies. Otherwise you'll find the car whizzing by on the left of your TV monitor screen, while the sound effect is coming from the right speaker. If you own any pair of stereo speakers you should always verify their correct placement by playing back left/right stereo channel test videos available on RUclips.
Considering that all can be corrected with some equalization,if MR4 has no hiss sound when idle is a better choice,is newer and with more features.I own CR4's...
Wow. It's close! If I had to pick - and it's really so close - but Mackie has a touch more breadth/depth to the sound. But that might just be because the Mackie has a bit of a bass bump of 3 - 4 db, and actually is slightly less linear than the Edifier. If there was more than say $40 price difference I'd just get the Edifier.
@@R0CKAFELLA comparing with the original track @2:49. But finally the highs seems to be ok, lack a bit of mid-high may be. But finally, it depend on how you mix in the real life. Just bought the MR4's and going by the charts here I doubt I would like the Mackie's as the mr4's are already on the fatiguing side.....Which is why Im here still looking as I want something a little more powerful for tv room use, the mr4's are good for the money but when you have heard truly transparent speakers its hard to settle for less.
In terms of sound resolution scores, MACKIE has a slight edge. However, Edifier provides almost similar level of sound at a price four times cheaper than MACKIE.
@@zhgfng I just saw for the first time that Edifier sells for about $130 on Amazon. Where I live, a company called Britz imports Edifier from other countries for about $50. But MACKIE sells for about $195 where I live. This is probably because my area uses 220 volt outlets.
hello. please tell me. in 6 square meters, what to take 4 inches 5 or 6? I had a jbl 305 mkii - does it make sense to take a yamaha msp 3 instead? or is it better to have a behringer 2030a? or is there nothing better than jbl 305 in this range?

@@Tephnos It means they sound like cheap speakers. You remember the 90's? When the market was flooded by Chinese knock-offs? These 2 sound exactly like those. At least, if you get cheap sound, pay cheap as well, like for Edifier 1280. You can't fault those for that price.
@@ares23dc Sounds like a huge exaggeration tbh. The MR4s (at least here) are only 10-20 bucks more than the 1280's and measure better as well on ASR (in music mode). Not perfect, but hard to fault for the price especially with how well they accept EQ.

Overall i think edifiers are better but CR4-X have more boomy bass if you like it you may consider them. Not a huge difference between them.
Mr4 is bit better in highs n vocals
the edifer mr4 has the cleanest and most defined audio. I was in doubt which of the 2 to get, and through this comparison I'm going to edifer mr4.
i bought it last week and i can't stop listening to it.
it is so good man i only paid 110bucks all in.

thank you very much for this comparison, it's exactly what I was waiting for
