I laughed a lot at their expressions when listening to the lyrics of the song..lol.

Axel grew up in Lafayette Indiana. About a half hour from me. My then girlfriend's sister used to babysit for him.

This was the mainstream music in 1987 when it came out, and through most of the early 90's! I'm 51, and watching you younger people react to music that was our everyday music now is so funny! Your reactions are priceless!😂
I never thought of tthis song as spicy. I take it as someone going to LA with dreams of becoming a star but the bright lights hides a dirty underbelly of the city that eat people and spit them out.
The "jungle" is Los Angeles and is about Axl Rose and Izzy Stradlin arriving in LA/Hollywood from Indiana
It was New York and means all places

It was Axl and a friend hitch hiking to NY. It was a little old black man in brooklyn saw them after they had just been let off by a trucker on the Brooklyn bridge. Seeing two long haired white boys, he screamed at them laughing.... You know where you are... You're in the Jungle and you're gonna die
@@mancsteveuk Nope it was NYC getting off at the Brooklyn Bridge. One in a Million is the song written about one of his travels to LA in hopes of finding Izzy... The beginning greyhound 906 to LA stanza. Paradise City is about getting back to LA after the "Hell Tour" in Seattle.
The parts where Axl is strapped to a chair watching screens were inspired by the film by Stanley Kubrick of the book A Clockwork Orange.
The 80s was a different context of life!!
80s was peak in humanity history imo, all from music, movies, tv shows way up to fashion, hairstyles, clothes, cars, buildings etc

Yeah the music (Live Aid 1985 was unforgettable), movies, fashion, everything were pretty stylish back in the day, but bad things still happen then and now. So it wasn't a good decade for ALL (remember what happened in China, Cambodia and Latin America?)

Although you said that this was the wildest song you’ve heard from G’n’R, which it is, I highly suggest you check out their music video “It’s So Easy”.

This was the first Guns N' Roses music video filmed in 1987 just as the band released their debut album 'Appetite for destruction'... the song 'Welcome to the jungle'... was about singer Axl Rose arriving in Los Angeles on a bus from his native state of Indiana. He was a Midwest boy who always got in trouble w/ the law as a teen in Indiana and finally decided to follow his friend Izzy Stradlin (Guns N' Roses' original guitarist) to L.A. and try become a rock star in a band in the 80's ... When Axl arrived, the streets were lined w/ hustlers... drug dealers... pimps... and hookers... It was a shock for Axl to see the scene that he had only heard about...
Axl and Izzy Stradlin played together in a band called Hollywood Rose (Slash briefly played in the band)... then, Axl and Izzy joined the band L.A. Guns around 1985 and decided to change the name to Guns N' Roses (feat. singer Axl Rose and guitarist Tracii Guns) ... Slash joined in 1986 after Axl fired Tracii Guns (who reformed L.A. Guns and found his own success) ... The band was a hot ticket in L.A. but were a mess of drugs, alcohol and fighting offstage.
GNR were signed in 1986 and recorded 'Appetite for destruction' that year... but the music industry thought it was a 'poor' album...
However, GNR opened for Motley Crue on tour in 1987 as they released the album... and when MTV put 'Welcome to the jungle' on air early one morning in late 1987, their request lines blew up immediately.
By 1988, Appetite for destruction' hit #1 on the charts and is one of the biggest selling rock records of all time 🤘🤘

This was the first music video I ever saw in my life, quite young, and I didn’t know what I was in for. It definitely opened the floodgates that turned me into a rock and metal fan.
In my opinion this is the best song of Gn'r. Fast and dangerous. Like the band itself back then.

this about when Axl first came to LA, in California. He said the city was like a jungle and ever day, you had to fight for your life or the city would eat you alive or break you, and alot of people that went there got there dreams broke, they couldn't make it, and they got on a bus and went back home and that was your death, the death of your dreams
The first Voice Sounds your hearing the Ohhhhh!! Part put Axl Rose in the Guinness book of world records for the longest being Vocal Note.

I saw Slash play about 20 years ago in a small club he owned in LA and it was amazing. He's just a killer guitar player. I also highly recommend "Mr. Brownstone" of this album, yet another great song about heroin addiction and killer track.

While I can appreciate a reaction video for this song, I fail to believe that reactors haven’t heard this song, if by nothing else than osmosis. It’s been omnipresent since ‘87.
