Weak Hero Class 2 - can't wait!!!
What i noticed for myself is that in a short time drams grt released who use the same backstory. Especially in historic pieces.
We had last year My Dearest who used the backstory of the Ming invasion and now we have the exact same backstory for Captivating the King. It feels like a deja vu to see it back to back and you cant be surprised anymore, because you allready know how the story will unfold further.
But this is the nature of k dramas.Unless you're new to it

I've seen Gyeongseong Creature and eagerly waiting for the season 2. Currently watching Dr. Slump and Captivating the King. Dr. Slump is very good, with a great cast, and I am so enjoying this drama!! Captivating the King is also good. The story initially moved very quickly, then separated the two leads by a 3-year period. They have just come back together and the story is moving slower now, yet there is enough intrigue and suspense to keep me watching. Of course I'm looking forward to Squid Game 2 the most, but Karma, Hong Rang, The Bequeathed, A Killer's Paradox sound really good as well. I will mostly likely at least start watching most of these. I really enjoyed The Devils Plan so I'm excited to see there is another season coming out.

All of US Are Dead season 2 is not on Netflix's 2024 list, they released all their K-content line up last week and it didnt show it. Maybe it'll be release on Jan. 2025

I'm just waiting to see Gong Yoo again in "Trunk" (with Seo Hyun Jin) which I really hope will be good and worth his talent. I'm kinda disappointed it will be yet another short netfx series, though (only 8 episodes🙄) I prefer the traditional 16 eps.

@@neinei697 I also think also ntfx thinks it's just cheaper to do short ones. But, I hate that most short shows usually never have a real ending. They don't seem to care that they leave you hanging a lot and either never give you a S2 with any kind of conclusion or maybe you might get a S2 after 2-3 years when you probably no longer care. Kdramas 16 eps shows, always have an ending. I think plenty of people have a long enough attention span, if the show is good. If they don't, they could just watch a movie. (Most tv shows in the world in general, are longer than 8-12 eps.)

I wish your website would include some trigger warnings. I absolutely hate watching numerous episodes only to have the drama end with tropes i absolutely hate like separation (sometimes for years) or one of main couple dying.

Lots coming up. Nr 10 (if I didn't lose count) sounds very similar to Squid Game, but I love the cast. Parasyte looks creepy, one definitely going on my list.
I am a Netflix fan, but, I really dislike how they have short runs (number of episodes) and always split the drama up. This American format of leaving dramas incomplete and basing follow-ups on whether S1 was popular or not, with long gaps in between, is both irritating and useless.
Unless a 'Limited Series', it really puts me off, as if I should get invested, but quotas aren't met and the series is dropped, it just frustrates and upsets me.
One of the main reasons so many fell in love with K-dramas invthe first place, is because they are complete, at usually 16/20 episodes long (unless a family soap opera), occasionally with a S2 and rarely, more.
Why does Netflix have to cash-in on the popularity of K-dramas, but then change the format we love?
Come on Netflix, stay true to how K-dramas are made by S.Korean networks.

A lot of 2nd seasons are happening. The only one I’m excited for is All of Us Are Dead. I hope they do something different with Squid Games bc the original cast was too strong. Kinda disappointed in the rest of the kdramas.

Most dramas are boring and overhyped. I'm more than disappointed. The only watchable dramas yet to come are Queen of Tears, Hong Rang and the Impossible Heir (Disney).
For me Historical Dramas -well written Kdrama is best.
