That was wonderful Thom! I was wondering when you would get around to playing a John Denver tune. He was truly an amazing artist. So wish that he was still with us! Have a great weekend. 👍👍
Merci beaucoup for this song. I started playing the piano 5 weeks ago, after a brief 50 year hiatus from a magnificent failed attempt. I've been watching your videos for years as a disinterested listener, and now there is added meaning to what you are doing.
Finally someone who’s trying to teach iconic intro off the greatest hits album. Kudos ! Still it sounds a little different towards the end that which on Denver is doing but maybe because it sounds like Denver is playing on a 12 string and there are more strings to be heard
Thanks bro for teaching us this beautiful song. The way you explain the nuances with such passion makes it so much more enjoyable! God strength to you!
Beautiful song and great singer. There aren't many videos that explain the intro, so thank you. 🙏🏻 In the future, I would really appreciate if you did "Annie's song", but, and this is the point, in the live version where he used to play a fingerpicking different from the studio version. It was played on a 12 strings guitar, in drop D tuning, with, I think, the ring finger picking the e string more times in the same pattern. But I have not understood it yet 😭😭😭
Very useful focus on this beautiful song, played origionally I see on twelve string. Lovely tones on the Taylor you are playing, any model info would be appreciated.
I don't understand why you advise to place pinkie on the box....in classic guitar the finger picking is much more complicated and resting finger on the box is forbidden....even in flamenco that has wild picking nobody rest finger on the sound box.
It depends on the song and style of music and also the guitarist. Some people play great without lowering the pinky others do. In the end you wanna go with what feels natural.

A real "oorworm" indeed, thanks for that ..... 🙄
Another beautiful lesson from the Master Teacher. God bless you Thom for enriching our lives with your great talent, all for free.
I have watched this video multiple time. You taught me my first song on guitar a year ago when you posted this video. Thank you sir

Very nice John Denver voice, guitar and text. It's a good remember from I saw him in Belgium in the years 80. Thank you.

Very nice rendition, GP. Left on planes, ships and automobiles enough to love the song.
Thanks for sharing this wonderful tutorial video. Many thanks.

Good suggestion, that's also a beautiful song!
Well done and interpreted.
Did you know you can buy a Taylor truss rod cover with some pretty ornate carvings and designs on it off of Ebay?
How do you play Thank God I'm a Country Boy? :)
Great lesson man thank you 🙏

It’s also a Travispicking
If you know Travis picking this song is really easy to play like I used to hehehe
Yes, thank you
Don't forget to mention.. he was also playing a 12 string
I don’t really hear that iconic intro from the greatest hits album. Can you redo that intro? Exactly like John Denver? Does it on the greatest hits
Does anyone have a tip for this Travis picking? Maybe just me but it feels un-natural.
Zou je een keer The Beatles' Mother Nature's Son kunnen doen Thom? Probeer het al jaren...
Goede suggestie!

I hope all your skills are not under-appreciated.
