The one thing putting me off spending cash on a CANsmart was the lack of circuits for flexibility, this really is as you say a game changer and whilst I won't get two straight away, expect an order over the weekend, thanks for the great explanation on how to sort all this.
Game changer indeed. I bought one for my F800GS two years ago and messed about with it. Had a set of lights and a couple of other things. I now want to add marker lights etc and want to have flexibility of each light. Just ordered another one, should arrive tomorrow and can’t wait.
I could care less if people think my bike looks like a Xmas tree. Really? Who cares. Do what you want and makes you happy. I want my bike to be able to light up like Las Vegas! I would hope that by the age most of us are when we want an Adv bike that we have overcome worrying about what other people think of our choices.
I'm the biggest technophobe out there, I was worried about using the cansmart , I can't believe how simple it is to set up, I left my laptop in my garage just to change the setting if I wasn't happy after a ride and it literally took longer for the very good laptop to turn on than connect the cansmart and change settings, I love how you check the battery status and voltage with engine running , I can add more lighting and brake lighting in seconds now , my only criticism would be I wish it could be controlled with a app so it's easier on the move, I know you can use the wheel though, maybe one day that would be something that could be included in a future hardware device
Sean Alexander I don’t know why I hadn’t even thought of this........ know idea where you’d fit the 3rd module where it would be accessible by the rider. 😅🤪😂🤪🤪🤪🤪
Awesome information. I have a Gen 1 on my bike, but I like the features of the Gen 2. I really didn't want to spend the $$ on a Gen 2 for just the indicate ability. This however makes it more appealing. Thank you for this. Regards Brian
Great information. Thank you for sharing. Would like an overview of the couple other items you've got under your seat - the black box at the back with industrial velcro on top and the shiny black box towards the front with the silver button. :)
Thanks Dave. Sure the black box with Velcro is my tracker. I didn’t want to draw attention to it in case of any thieves watching but I can’t imagine they’ll be reading all my comments. I used to have it under my fuel tank but gps satellites were struggling a little to see it. The black box is the DVR unit for my K2 dual dash camera. I have other videos on my channel regarding this.
It would be interesting to see an amplink setup similar for non cansmart bikes such as a tenere 700. The amplink has a 3 trigger function on it and can be programmed by a phone through bluetooth
Thanks for a great learning episode. Awesome! In another episode you compared the Clearwater Dixi lights to the Denali D7's. I have a set of Kristas on my 1250 GSA and a Hexcan CANsmart. I would like to know if the Krista can be put in the CANsmart controller. I will be buying some other lights from Denali sometime in the future but for now, this is what I have.
@@atharva0777 Yes, they're compatible. They won't be plug and play, so you'll need to make an adapter, or cut the CANsmart's Light Extension Splitter down to bare wires. The only lights that won't be compatible are those with controllers inside. You can power pretty much any 12v accessory with the CANsmart or ezCAN.
I have a GSA with the factory aux lights, and I was stopped in Switzerland and told they are fog lights, despite me showing him the BMW manual stating they are auxilliary lights he insisted they are fog lights and if I didn't turn them off he would sieze the bike. Yet I saw plent of Swiss registered bikes with them on......
I just finished adding a second Hex EZCan on my RT. Works same as CANsmart and as I programmed. I have Clearwater Aux lights as left/right so light turns off on side when using signal as well as Aux brake lights and phone powered on EZCan #1. On EZCan #2 I have some Cyclops lights that have Yellow halo lights. I am using the halo lights as running lights and additional turn signal flashers when turn signals activated on each side and the main LED spot lights as additional Aux lights when using high beams. Works as programmed, so many options with 2nd EZCan (CANsmart).
I'm working today on making those amber running light run at 10% but for the opposite side to switch off when indicating. Will involve using another circuit and I'm making an adapter with one way diodes. Hoping it works, if it does a short part two video will be coming soon.

How do you connect two cansmarts?
Just daisy chain them together.
@@ABIKETHINGmaybe I’m not being clear with what I’m asking… Do they just click in together (plug n play) or do I need to splice to put them together?
Dear lord.... how much you talk... 🤪
I know I know I know! I’m glad you feel my pain. Editing is a nightmare. We all hate the sound of our voice don’t we. I think I need to change but I think the golden rule is to be yourself at all times and this is me. Like it or lump it. 🤪
@@ABIKETHING lol.. love your videos just that my issue is lack of patient..
Keep doing ur things 🤟
Damn your 36 min video can be less than half the time if you didn't speak that much !
Yes it appears I’m a waffler. My bad! It is a Social media platform. Did you get what you wanted from the video? Did it cost you any money? Sorry if it inconvenienced you.
Sheesh you'd think he was charging you by the minute!
