What I changed to fix my dark/night scenes dimming problems was the following: PWM Mid from 5 (default) to 55 + PWM min from 5 to 30. I didn't change the other values as suggested in this video as my TV is bright enough in bright scenes (2D seems for gaming but I never use Game Mode).

I'm going to try this because turning values to 100 did not work for me. I did set contrast enhance to high, local dimming to low. This helped with white lettering against black screen not dimming so bad that the white turned grey.
Changing pwm values to 100 made things worse for me. I set contrast enhance to high, local dimming to low. Eco off. This helped but still im losing detail in dark scenes. Might try changing pwm to 50-70 and see if that helps. Setting to 100 causes bad blooming/clouding. Q80t 65 inch, 2020 model, QLED, firmware version 2505.4.

Yes the issue is extremely annoying. Samsung still haven't done a software update and don't think they are going to do an update. I would advise if you still have the receipt return it. That's what I did and got Sony xh900. No it won't void warranty. You can always set the numbers back to it's original state. Just make sure to write down or take pictures of what it was before you make any changes.
@@phreakdbase2028 ok you live in the Philippines, I got mine from Costco they give 90 days return policy even if there isn't anything wrong with it or you change your mind, you can still return it.
@@juanfigueroa4989 yes agreed, I had switched to Sony x900H soon after. Just wasn't happy with the Samsung. Since my TV was still under Costco warranty, I was able to return it.
@@EL-JEFE-1 I'm currently using an old 42 Inch 1080p Sony LCD which works really well for gaming (very low Input lag) + great picture for a ten year old LCD. I might buy a S90C QD-OLED if they are still available in November 2024 for a decent price but I feel like that I shouldn't give Samsung any more of my hard earned money.
Hi there! I have 65Q8D. The screen just suddenly darkens, doesn’t fade into it or anything. Is this a fix for this issue? Or is there something else wrong with my hardware here? The abruptness throws me off lol
I have the same problem on the Q80A. In every picture mode, except "natural", the picture dims for 2-3 seconds every few tens of seconds. Have you dealt with this problem? I, going into the options, do not have "advanced", so I can't do anything.
Does this way work on the 2022 model? On my Q80A, in any picture mode except "natural", the screen, every few tens of seconds, dims for 2-3 seconds. Watching anything in any other picture mode, which allow better adjustment of brightness or gamma, is impossible.
@@EL-JEFE-1 It didn't help. It's some kind of error in the “local dimming” function. Samsung's service technician replaced the motherboard and it didn't help at all either - I have to watch everything with “local dimming” turned off. Replacing the motherboard, however, renewed my warranty. I will soon be calling a technician to replace the TV's matrix, or have Samsung give me my money back, or replace it with a new model, since it is still not fully operational.

@@بسام-ط7ع it wouldn't be the electricity, if it's the pixels going bad then you might have to back to the manufacturer depending if it's still under warranty if not than, use it till it breaks down. TV'S are made cheap now hence they don't last.
@@EL-JEFE-1 Blooming is when the backlight is still visible on dark scene where they maybe be 1 or two bright objects in a darkened area. The array will dim most zones but that one zone may be lit up more so it has a bit of a glow or "blooming" in that area. Obviously we can't have OLED level blacks in all scenes but adjusting the values may help reduce it.
With the Samsung QLED 2020 TV'S dimming issue is happening with watching general. Something to do with software issues which Samsung hasn't fixed and don't is planning on fixing.
@@achilleasvavatsikos1869 I bought mine from Costco and returned it and bought Sony x900h. Although Samsung is a good tv, the dimming is an issue which Samsung hasn't been able to resolve. So I do recommend to go for a different tv.

The problem with mine is it dims in dark scenes. If there's a black background with a bit of white letters, the dimming will make the white letters grey. When it dims in dark scenes, the blacks crush any details. I turned contrast enhance to high, local dimming to low. That helped but changing pwm settings to 100 made things worse.
you can do this with the one remote, just 0000 to get into the advanced menu FYI. thank you for this! fixed my issue.

Yes it should work well with au900. You can take pictures of the settings before you change it. Just Incase you want to change it back.

I got PWM_MAX 70 (default) on my 2018 Q9FN. Should I change PWM_MAX to 100 as well with PWM_INI_2D and PWM_MOVIE_INI or should I set all 3 to 70?

In my Q70T I have white spots .. hardly seen .. is it setting problem or hardware ?
Doesn't sound like a setting problem. Neither a hardware. It could be something to do with pixels fading. Which means the pixels could be going bad.

This Q80T series has local dimming...not global...
It HAS global Dimming. Samsung is still cheating the customers. Global Dimming is the worst "feature" in tv history, introduced by Samsung.
