  • The Classic sometimes forgotten 1989 NBA Finals was incredible, it was just before my time but I am thankful for my older Brother, VCR Cassettes & Social Media Jejeje.
This was the 2nd straight Season where Magic & The "Showtime" Lakers matched up against Isiah Thomas, Bill Laimbeer & The "Bad Boys" from Detroit. In 1988 The Lakers took home the Championship but this year was a little different.

Good observation, back then you couldn't get by on just athleticism. The Pistons embodied, skill, toughness and determination.

It’s amazing how much more exciting the NBA was back then. These guys are pretty amazing with some of these plays. Players today don’t do all these fancy moves when driving and you don’t see anyone celebrating any shots. Todays NBA has people celebrating even though they’re down 15. Dumars doesn’t get enough credit

Jordan was able to get 2 wins in 1988 , 3 wins in 1989 on the Detroit Pistons
More like the pistons were crying so they resorted to dirty tactics to stop Jordan.

It's the same team in 1989-1990, the 1991 Bulls needed the Pistons to be injured to win their titles; unless you are going to say Cliff Levingston, Scott Williams, and Dennis Hopson were the difference-makers for the Bulls beating the Pistons?... You have to look at teams as being healthy and then you can match them up easily; no way Chicago could even compete.

If the pistons were so great why it took them 6 games to beat Jordan in 1988 I will wait
Jordan with no all star by the way
Why did it take the pistons 7 games to beat the bulls in 1989 ?
      Jordan again not all stars
Why did it take the pistons another 7 games to beat the bulls in 1990 ?
Jordan showed up in game 7 while his teammates disappeared
My point is pistons beat a Jordan team with zero all stars that's quite pathetic
Not really an achievement to beat another team opposition player with by themselves
