That ending was insane. Not the plays themself necessarily, but the fact that with two seconds to go and a three point difference, dozens of people are already invading the court. Unthinkable nowadays.

He was too strong foran SF to guard and to quick for a PF. If he had been healthy on 91, he would have taken Pippen to school and force MJ to put up 60 for them to win.

Now I am a Lakers fan and I am from LA, but wasn't there a foul at the last 2 seconds of the game? I saw that game live and for over 35 years I have been wondering about that. Well, the Lakers were up by 3 at the time, and there was no "3 free throw" rule at the time. So even if the Pistons made the 2 free throws, the Lakers would still have the ball with 2 or maybe 1 second to go. The result might very well be identical. But again, shouldn't the game be stopped at the 2 second mark?

2-a made T cuts the lead to 2, Detroit gets the ball at mid court and there still is 2 seconds left to tie the game or shoot a 3 for the win .

looked like he fouled Isiah and then he waved at the crowd...yeah that was brilliant basketball.

Shoot one. Miss the next at the line. You can tie it. Riley and Magic ended the game before it was over.

This was really the last hurrah for the Showtime Lakers. Even though Magic upped his game and was probably the best player in the world the following 2 seasons, Kareem got old and they really didn't find a suitable replacement. They were great, but weren't going to win it all without a decent center. Vlade Divac just wasn't it.

rodman botched (sabotaged?) a possible victory for detroit: at [[13:29]] he fouls magic johnson which makes zero sense strategy-wise. then at [[14:10]] dennis throws up a wild outside jump shot that misses badly instead of passing it off to dumars (whose wide open) you can actually hear on the audio dumars shouting to rodman to throw him the ball, and a few seconds later angry chuck dailey is livid talking to versace about rodman's appalling stupidity

Rodman ruined this great fight and performance from his team with that terribly ill advised shot. I never knew he ruined these finals lol no wonder he said fuck offense and worked on defense and rebounding
