I have no doubt manufactures have good reason why they don't have a mode that nails it perfectly. Durability would be my first guess.
Slippage does suppress shock to parts that otherwise tend to to suffer catastrophic violent failure if they fail.
Pretty impressive. Can't wait to see what you do when you get yours!
Never thought I'd be a vette guy but this Z06 is an amazing vehicle! The competition is really going to have yo step it up! And that exhaust note is sweet!
Respect Emilia, the true test for the ZO6 is on a road course with GT3’s on the track. Spring Mt Motors Sports Ranch would be the perfect place.
Go them Girl, is the place to learn to drive corvettes thru the twisty stuff.
0-60 in 2.20 seconds. Sheesh...!
Outstanding run, Em!
that's gotta be with roll-out? either way that's still insane!
@@Dad_of_War I actually believe that's without, since it was taken from the ECU. Rollout is only when it's measured from the outside with a laser
@@iamkjeld are you going to believe on data that didn't match with the track data. The data from the car said it was faster in the quarter mile vs the track time. Mmm. I trust the track data over the car.
@@thestang8888 Okay... And what did the track say the 0-60 mph time was...?
Wtf are you talking about mate
Wow! Chevy could not have picked a better ambassador for the Z06! You rock!
Also just saw your Motul commercial during the IMSA race at Road Atlanta. Awesome!
Quarter mile is cool but this thing is built for the road course. I can't wait to see some track lap times like the ring etc
Fuck track no one goes to track lets drag
@@MrJoseeclipse123 Considering the sheer amount of race venues in the US that focuses on track and not so much drag, I don't think you know what you're talking about.
@@evilformerlys4704 go amd play grand turismo kid i drag racing for 20 years get the fuck out here
Awesome video! I wish I could afford that new z06…. I have a c6 z06 and I love this thing. Haven’t gave any issues for the past 5 years 🎉…. Maybe one day I’ll try to trade up haha
Rumor has it the Chevrolet C8 Z06 will be a one year only vehicle which will become an instant collectors car! Sadly the car is priced well out of reach of most Corvette enthusiast who dreamt of owning one. Great review!
Watching you rip into this car down the track has me fired up about getting mine again. I will definitely be watching what you do to yours when you get it. Wish I was at the track watching you do this run live LOL!! great content!! you gained 1 more sub today lol
Aiiight bet!!
Great video and congratulations on the record. The Z06 sounds amazing
This vid is so cool, the smile in the helmet is the best. With the mixture of fuel that you all did, were you just adding clear to the tank? Or was it a higher octane? If it was a higher octane, do you know what your octane level was in comparison to the octane level that was used by Chevrolet when they tested the 1/4 mile?
Thanks also for finding the same flaw.
I love everything you do and stand for but I wish your build videos would make a comeback I know I did and a lot of other people really enjoyed watching you build your cars and have fun with them and stuff
Very, very impressive. This girl knows what she's doing.
Knew right away that it was the best run just by listening to the launch not bog for once.
Yep clean launch!
Sounds amazing, Keep up the great work!!!
Been awesome watching channel grow, and some seriously great c8 footage 👍
WOW, thats sure fast!!!!!! I grew up when a 60's 427 was LUCKY to run high 12's, i am 67 in a few months
Who really cares if it's 10.6 or 10.7??
She’s fantastic. Attractive, has good energy and just an all around positive vibe.
Congrats on a new world record! You Rock!
Wow emelia out there breaking records go ahead girl
“From a Chevy! From a Chevy!” Lmao I love how GM built a better Ferrari than Ferrari
Ain't that the truth 🤣
This is how these cars are meant to be driven! Esp at the 100,000 dollar mark!!
Bring that beast to Atco in NJ right now, and I bet it'll run low 10's!! Once these hit the streets, I could see 10.3 maybe 10.2 bone stock with much cooler temps and better DA.. Nice runs and info though! 🏎💨
love corvette content!! keep'm coming !!!
10.51 @ 130... amazing car
McLaren 570S did 10.3@134 5 years ago with similar power-to-weight
But of course, McLaren was about 80k more expensive
@@sssssss8946 give it time, this is day 1 lol
@@sssssss8946 I think the c8 z06 is capable of running 10.2 if the temps and elevation is good, maybe with out the z07 package but those carbon wheels do help a lot too so who knows
@@N0neofyourbusiness. hahahhahahahahahg
Very impressive trap speed! 130mph is pretty solid.
It helped that you are light and an extremely talented driver. Congratulations. This took work, determination and skill
Chevy: "Where did you put the passenger seat?"
Emelia: "Right over by the drum of napalm we spiked the fuel with."
Crazy to think that Ranger ran a C6 Z06 around the same time and trap speed bone stock
I think the C6 generation was the pinnacle of performance and lightweight chassis for Corvette. Love the new ones but they have only gotten heavier and heavier
You mean in a straight line
Not hard to set a new "record time" if you're the only one with the car and trying. 😎
Clearly @jay bird; You missed some of the presented information - GM/Chevy/Corvette had performed these same tests with multiple vehicles, and averaged them to arrive at the 10.6 sec 1/4 mile ET and the specified conditions too - better than these runs. - as Emelia stated, her weight is certainly a factor @
Honestly I would love to see this car make its virtual appearance in Gran Turismo 7 and Forza (both the new upcoming Motorsport and Horizon 5).
OUTSTANDING....GOOD WORK !!!!!
A Buddy , his brother does Corvette factory race events on the road course circuits, always getting updates from him too. Nice play toy. I swear I heard some tire chips in between shifts.
5:21 Good launch
10:00 Excellent launch
Thank God you were going that fast in a straight line! 😂
Wishful thinking, car and driver did a 10.50 and 131.
Your understanding of high tech corvette 2023 paves way for new records to be set you are a professional driver.
my guy, his poor leg...😭🤣
A Tesla would smoke this Corvette in a 1/4 mile without any smoke.
This corvette will smoke a Tesla on a track
Ah yes and the tesla would lose by over 20 seconds on the track and proceed to lose the quarter mile after 3 runs
10.9@129 is what everybody seems to be getting. Anything faster requires prep, race gas, practice, trial and error which isnt how the real world (outside of a drag strip).
You needed some of the Button willow pump gas at 100 octane ! only 25 minutes over to there track. Emelia another trip to my local drag strip, I would've love to come watch & run my 1965 mustang. 93305
Emelia makes any car a HOTROD 🍷😎👌
10.5 let’s go!!!!!
cool, was as fast as my 86' 900 ninja! so much fun:-)
2.2 sec on a 0-60 is ridiculous I'm officially impressed
Zo6 is awesome Emelia is awesome and an incredible driver but man for $106k+ I had a car faster in the 1/4 for a 1/10th of that cost. But man these new corvettes are a dream thanks for the content!!
Great Job Emilia and a Great Video as well!
That. Was. AWESOME! Superbly edited too, just one of the best videos I've watched in a long time. Congrats!!!
I need to win the Lottery!!!! That Vette sounds awesome!
Never thought I'd say this, but model s plaid all day over this. 1.3 seconds faster, and over 20mph faster in the 1/4. Basically, the plaid would run out of this vettes life.....in ANY DA.
Hey Cameron I agree 👍 with your comments 💯 percent and it certainly didn't hurt that the girl was a smokin hot looker
2021 Porsche Turbo S 1/4 mile 10.3 secs and 0-60 in 2.2 secs. The Turbo S lightweight 1/4 mile 9.9 secs and 0-60 2.1 secs. The Turbo S will keep doing those times 40 times over and over. No other high end sports car can compete with that consistency, end of your world record!
The 'Vette with the new features and the mid-engine, this is a formidable machine.
I find you are the best car woman that I know! Keep up the wonderful videos.😂😂
Apparently, I’m already subscribed. - I do miss the old 70s model Corvette stingray with the Coke bottle shape, a nice four 54 in.³ motor, Remember, the more they put on a vehicle, the more that can go wrong with that vehicle. ‘I’d like to keep it simple’. (Only my opinion.). Thanks for sharing.
My apologies, ‘Voice dictation’. What I meant to say was, ‘454 ci. Engine.’ / Not what it decided to put down on my chat, Again, my apologies.
The best GM spokeswoman a franchise could ever want. Good on you GM. And damn Emelia. Way to rock.
Nice work. Not just weighing less - you Drove the car.
This car is absolutely incredible ! Chevy finally did it right! I still say, it the best looking vette to date.
