@questforgear The remote mixer works on the local PC. Not BY or Wi-FI. Since I’m on a Mac, I use my IPad as an extended monitor and can go all over the room with it. Works perfectly. BTW, get ready to sell the 24. You’re going to want the 2400. All the solutions for me are the same ones you want too. I’m a hybrid user, as well.
For sure... the 2400 is TEMPTING!! It's $3000 Canadian though... I mean.... it's not impossible ... but that one would hurt the wallet. "Since I’m on a Mac, I use my IPad as an extended monitor" - I actually had no idea you could do this!! Interesting! Seems I missed a good trick! Thanks!
@@QuestForGear I’ve seen a few of your videos. You’ll end up with the 2400. 😂 It’s a great board and I think you’ll conclude, as well, that it might be THE board for you.
So, here are my two cents about Model 2400: I do not own one first. I have seen many reviews and also read the specifications. My guess is that Tascam has attempted to please the demands of consumers who want a more computer-friendly integration. Honestly, I think that most of us who purchased the M24 have learned to overcome the limitations it presents. Therefore, all the bells and whistles the new model features, are nothing but that. Certainly, with more insert points and the screen monitoring function, it must be more practical. Would I sell my M24 to get this one? I don't think so. One advantage of the limitations of the M24 is that it makes you think creatively and pushes you to make your way through recording.
Agree completely. I should have added to the video - if I see a really good deal on another Zoom L-20 or a Model 24 BEFORE I get a 2400 - I'll get one of those instead. Because you are right the M24 is completely capable. And IMO... so is the L-20. So my game plan from here is - get a new full priced 2400 if one becomes available - but in the mean time - if I can snag a used L-20 or M24 for a great price, I'll grab one of those and as you say - push my way though the few limitations.
@@macaronafterparty Me too. Improvements on any models are improvements for all of us. Zoom needs to step it up. Mackie needs to catch up across the almost 3 decades they are behind.
I'm considering one. I've got the M12, which is fantastic, but the 2400 is a step forward. The problem is that it's currently twice the price of the M24 here in the UK. Twice. And that's a problem.
Yeah they cost alot! Canadian I'm going to be $3500 - and I've yet to find one available. For you guys who have the Model 12's and 16's - I never under stood how you got by with that few inputs and tracks... were you always recording into the DAW?
@@QuestForGear Record, drag tracks over USB to Mac, do the same thing a couple of times, then mix in Fairlight/Resolve as my DAW of choice. If the M series had a better screen, intuitive interface, and mouse/touch control AND simpler bouncing, then I'd probably do it all on the tracker.
It's a huge cost for us (Canadians). Let me know if you get any comments about the "useless channel". Also, I WANT you and your girlfriend to do a version of "Black and Fluffy" so that I can do a reaction video.
lol no promises. I'd be more likely to maybe get my daughter to do it. My gf really can't sing... she just yells it while she's driving randomly.... 'BLACK AND FLUFFY'. But I'll at least make an attempt.
Sit still man... As much as I love a lot of Tascam products, they are one of the worst in terms of dropping product support. Hardware failures seem to be baked into everything cool that they put out. Bummer really. For that one reason alone, I'd avoid spending money with Tascam.
I won't deny it... I've seen issues. The compressor lights coming on for no reason on early serial number units.... Tascam is well aware and say it's fine. It's not fine.
Here’s The way I see it! The unit should have 24 single channels, 3 split channels w/RT & LT RCA. 1 useless channel (Bluetooth) for me on live podcasting call ins. 8 fx inserts, 8 sub group’s & the mains. USB to computer and a Dedicated external usb display monitor and it should not cost more than $1500.00 US! As far as the Beatles 4 & 8 tracks the Beatles had technicians, studio musicians and producers and let’s not forget the multimillion dollar budgets! So don’t be too hard on yourself.
LOLZ ! I'll let Tascam know they made a multi millon dollar mistake. 'HEY TASCAM - @Psztyk236 thinks the DP24 is somehow comparable in some way to the Model Series. You can stop making the MODEL series now! ' LOLZ !!! Well @Psztyk236 , I already had one. Why not you ask? So many reasons why. I can make a video on it if you want.

awesome! hope its as good in hand as it is on paper
We will see, if I end up with one.

What are your thoughts on why this unit isn't even available anywhere for purchase.
I guess they announced it and have no stock? It's frustrating for sure. They lost my sale - I ended up grabbing another Model 24.
