I think it could be a good idea to route the water from the roof tray into a pipe that runs down the back of the square post next to the current drain and then you can hook in a hose to go into a bucket OR run it away from camp if its causing issues with the run off into your equipment?
Can you not add the rhino rack on top of that new plate as well? Be good to still be able to tie a bunch of equipment down for the trek in and it still be functional with the drainage?

Leave top as a water trap drain away in one corner to a hose and use the rain for cleaning
