I want his energy, vigor, and happiness at 90 years young. Happy Birthday Sir!!
yeaaa😍😍😍
+Carl Hubscher Dude, UNBELIEVABLE... how is this possible?
verdeojos 86
I want that at my 36!!!
Bellissimo film musicale
Amazing how good he looks, and that he remembered all the lyrics without any rehearsal, and how good his voice is!
Ugh, I will never be able to listen to "Let's Go Fly a Kite" without tearing up all thanks to Saving Mr. Banks 😫 Also, it's quite astonishing that he still remembers all of the lyrics to the songs that he sang many years ago.
ugh?
watchgoose you have not seen Saving Mr. Banks haven’t you? Because in that scene, they show the song to mrs. travers and she’s finally amused by it and starts singing it with them. That part was amazing
watchgoose also, the title of the movie about the making of Mary Poppins is called Saving Mr. Banks starring Emma Thompson and Tom Hanks. When heartfull92 says “he”, that person is referring to Dick Van Dyke as he turned 90 then. I agree though, it is amazing how he still remembers the lyrics after 55 years.
I remember all of the words to all of the songs just b/c I watched it so many times
His singing still sounds the same. He looks amazing too.
I was thinking the same! He sounds just like the recording!
Dick can be officially classified as a national treasure. His Step In Time dance is in the same echelon as M.J.'s Thriller.
Yes it is. Well put!
Yes and yes!
An ENGLISH national treasure too. His Transatlantic 'Cockney' accent in Mary Poppins has made us chuckle for decades!
@@blackmore4 Totally agree, an honorary Englishman.

i will always love how no matter how old he gets, he still sings perfectly
Teared up a little when they started singing "Let's Go Fly a Kite"....I remember my first time watching Mary Poppins at my grandma's house when I was like 5 or 6. What a great life that man has had...Happy Birthday Dick Van Dyke!!
HOW CAN YOU NOT ABSOLUTELY LOVE THIS MAN?
Look at his energy! He's a proper legend this man! What an inspiration. Long live the man!
I strongly suspect his longevity is attributed to his youthful spirit.
+Robert Spreitzer Exactly.
Indeed
Yes and if I make it to 90 I hope to be the same as he
Agree 100%!
Robert Spreitzer y
It's such a joy to see him leading a Disney sing-along at the end and that he remembers all the words and everyone's singing along!
He is such a beautiful human being. He radiates positive energy and life as if he were a hopeful child. It must be such a joy to be around him. Lucky wife and family for sure.
What a wonderful way to celebrate someone's life who touched so many lives in their lifetime. Happy Birthday Mr. Van Dyke, thank you for being a part of so many people's lives. :)
What an amazing human being. My eyes teared up a lot. I hope he gets to live another 90.
90 and I still want to marry this man...
Wait are you saying that you're 90 too or that you're still interested in him despite his age?
I'm 30... have been in love with him since I was little 😂
Holly Bishop I see!
***** Excuse me? What's the point of your post?
+Liam O'Quin Well, actually, he's doesn't live in a nursing home. He recently got married to a woman 46 younger than he is, and she seems quite happy with their married life. ;-)
"He deserves the world."
That's what my daughter said....and I agree! That was fantastic!!!!
I cried! SO Beautful... Everyone came to wish him a happy birthday! So sweet!
Oh wow! Happy Birthday Dick Van Dyke. One of my top ten films, ever. Here's to flying a kite at 100!!
Considering the gravity of local, national, international events, it is an absolute joy (and a blessing) to know with certainty there is a lot more happiness in the World for the gifts, the life and the work of Dick Van Dyke. Happy 90th to the man with a positive attitude, who's responsible for generations of Happy Faces 55+ years.
I can't even remember what happened in 2016 but 2020 defenetly beat it
@@vitothepizzaguy7475 Thank you for your comment. I had to go back myself. A lot happened before Dec. 13th (his birthday.) The results of the U.S. General Election, discovery of Russian (GRU) pro-Trump, Putin sanctioned, election interference therein - the hacking of DNC emails; FBI investigation of Clinton emails; release of candidate Trump's 2006 "touching" video; North Korea launched a long range rocket and conducted its 5th and largest nuclear test; a terrorist drove a truck through a crowded promenade killing 87 in Nice, France; a suicide bomb in Pakistan killed 75, injured 100s; terrorists also launched major attacks in Belgium (2 at the Brussels airport, 1 at its Metro Station - 35 killed, over 300 injured), and Orlando FL (Pulse, Gay nightclub shooting - 58 killed, 53 injured); the U.K. voted to leave the European Union; Egypt Air Flight 804 crashed on its way from Paris to Cairo; South Sudan’s civil war intensified; the release of the Panama Papers exposed how some wealthy people hide their money offshore; WHO announced the Zika virus was "spreading explosively" in the Americas; 2016 was the year Astronaut/Senator Glenn, Boxer Ali, novelist (Harper) Lee, actor Rickman, musicians Bowie and Prince died. A plus that year, it saw the first woman nominated to become U.S. President and (musician Steve "Go Cubs Go" Goodman's favorite team!) the Chicago Cubs won Game 7 of the World Series against Cleveland Indians. With all that happened, has happened - and 2020 just half over, I still believe you to be right, 2020 has definitely beat 2016.
I grew up watching Dick Van Dyke, it was kind of strange because my foster dad looked like Dick Van Dyke and he's the one that introduced me to watching his movies, thank you Dad for that. My all-time favorite will always be Chitty Chitty bang bang.
3:30 Heheh that part really got me. That was freaking beautiful.
The one song that wasn't in the dance......"Let's Go Fly A Kite"..............the song at the end of Mary Poppins.........when the Banks Family gets together again...........
Makes me remember when I was making hamburgers for Harvey Korman and Tim Conway in West LA and while they were waiting they were making each other crack up with their jokes. They loved what they did whether they were working or not. Loved it.
This makes me very happy. He looks so young and his singing still sounds the same. Happy birthday Mr. Van Dike
I am crying His role in Mary poppins was my favorite character and I remember singing along with all the songs as a toddler
The innocence of everything that is good and pure and childlike in its simplicity is something the world is rapidly forgetting. Thank you Dick and thank you Flash mob for reminding all of us what it means to have fun and be happy.
gonna be a dark day on earth, when this man passes
He's going to live longer than Kirk Douglas, count on it.
Don't say that
that’s heart moving♥️🙏🏻
isn’t it amazing how much people from so many generations grew up on this?😌♥️
Happiest of birthdays to you Mr. Van Dyke! You are a huge part of our culture , and have brought millions of people joy!
I was half expecting to see Julie Andrews, Mary Tyler Moore, and/or even his brother Jerry! Happiest of Birthdays Mr Van Dyke, the world loves you!!!!
Jerry Van Dyke was in poor health due to a car accident and sadly Mary Tyler Moore was blind and quite ill by then.
I loved the part when he starts singing with everyone. It's so heartwarming
Amazing. The man has given so many people so much joy through his career. I'm glad to see him looking well and enjoying this. Thank you Mr. Van Dyke.
No formal training as either a dancer, or a singer...yet his legacy as a triple-threat performer has touched generations for SIXTY YEARS now. God's Blessings to you, Mr. Van Dyke. 💯
He´s absolutely great.
Just wonderful clean fun!!!! And he remembers all the lyrics still. God bless one of our truly talented actors. Yes may he have many more years with us.
1964, Caracas. A toddler sits on the floor watching Mary Poppins on his black and white Philips TV. He remembers Mr. Van Dyke and Julie Andrews, so alive, so happy, dancing and singing in this most wonderful musical. Happy Birthday to you, sir.
The mans smile is electric. Happy birthday sir
What a wonderful celebration for a wonderful man! Made me tear up. I was 8 years old when I saw "Mary Poppins". I've been a fan ever since. Happy Birthday, sir.
Can't stop smiling, watching this. This is something great happening in the world today! "Let's go fly a kite!" A great message for humanity from Disney and from a national treasure, Dick Van Dyke.
Happy Birthday to a true gentleman! My heart is so happy watching this...even if there's something in my eye. Thank you to all you sweet people for doing this for him!
I have to say Dick Vandyke is one of a kind adorable, witty, kind and the best actor of all.Over all to me he is a very down to earth truthful person he is REAL !
I'm not crying, you're crying.
NerdForYou Oh no I’m absolutely crying. No I’m sobbing. My dad was a huge fan of Dick Van Dyke’s and Dad passed in 2016. I sit watching this and I can hear my dad’s voice in my head singing along with every word. I’m a mess. 😭❤️
What a remarkable man. Happy Birthday.
Such a great man. I pray I can meet him and thank him for a great childhood as well as Julie Andrews. Such a great man!
I could not stop smiling during this video. Even teared up a bit. :)
You just gotta luv that guy. Luv all of his shows. Im currently watching Diagnosis Murder in the UK. It's great to see acting alongside his son Barry.
I asked a little bit ago if anyone knew if Dick Van Dyke could still sing. HE CAN! He still sings beautifully.
At such a dismal time in American culture, great to see Dick Van Dyke, healthy and with a big smile on his face at 90. For those of us that teared up watching this, it is because it reminded us of better times in the 60's watching his family show on tv in black and white. Great humor without perversion, racial overtones, sex, and political correctness. Always the most likable person on TV. Happy Birthday !!!!
Glen Ebay The 60s? I was born in the 90s and I grew up with this.
I was born in the 80s and adore this man and disney for making my childhood magical
Don’t forget Lucy and Andy
Before we destroyed everyone with vaccines and pesticides
@@rberka555 lol lol keep your children family away from mine . I dont need them catching diseases from your kind.
He's 90 here? He could have fooled me with his beautiful voice and agility. 🎂🍦🎈
Still full of smiles and as gracious as ever! Happy Birthday Dick! We all love you!
To bring that much happiness to that many people around the world. I wonder if even he can wrap his mind around it. To be loved by billions who have seen his films and TV appearances. I mean, I feel warm inside even when my college students all wave to me at the end of a Zoom class, for heaven's sake. The original Mary Poppins film had a magnificent song score. Not a dud in the bunch and every song fit its scene perfectly. Three of the songs, however, just grab me and drag me in as part of them: "Feed the Birds" (how can you not cry watching the love that Jane Darwell is expressing without words in her farewell film); "I Love to Laugh" (how can you not end up laughing with Ed Wynn by the end of the song); and "Let's Go Fly a Kite" (how can you not feel all's right with the world). Keep on making people happy and inspire them to bring happiness to others, Mr. Van Dyke. The world rightfully loves you.
Happy Birthday! my favorite TV dad of all time and his movies are some of my favorite. Love this man.
Happy BDay to the best ever TV star this planet has ever seen!
Glad to see the same poz comments here about mr.DVD as I saw in the comments section regarding Colbert's relatively recent interview with Dame Julie andrews. Both Mr. DVD and Dame JA are national treasures and the epitome of class and grace.
Beautiful. Thanks to you folks who gave Dick, probably the best gift he ever received. That was wonderful.
Movies like Mary Poppins, My Fair Lady, The Sound of Music, etc. Will never be made again, and if they were, they could never be as good. Glad I got to grow-up watching films like these.
Happy 90th Dick! Thank you for all the wonderful laughs and memories. You'll never leave our hearts.
Happy birthday, Dick! You brightened my childhood! Love ya!
I hope I'm half as lively as this gentleman when Im 90! What a star!
Mr. VanDyke has been a locus of joy for this world. We've been blessed to have him. Happy Birthday!
I swear it's impossible to hate this guy...
Jellybean I don't know the story and I'll check it out but maybe he feels bad about it and has tried to reform?
@@saladfingersasmrparty9768 - This article provide much of the information about the affair and the subsequent separation followed by divorce years later of Dick Van Dyke from his first wife, Margie.
news.amomama.com/183979-margie-willett-children-cause-death-her.html
Their relationship, unfortunately, was destined to fail. In “Keep Moving,” one of the books that Dick wrote, he addressed some aspects of his experience cheating on Margie.
In 1972, the actor checked into a hospital to receive treatment for alcoholism. Shortly after that, unfortunately, Margie spent some time at the same hospital for addiction to prescription drugs.
Once she was released, Dick Van Dyke’s wife started spending more time on the family’s ranch in the desert. During that period, the actor and his agent’s secretary, Michelle Triola, began their affair. In “Keep Moving,” he wrote:
“[Michelle] was easy to talk to, she understood me. At the time, Michelle was suing actor Lee Marvin, with whom she had a six-year relationship. I was drawn into a relationship. I was involved with a woman other than my wife. It was unbelievable. I was writhing in guilt.”
Although Dick and Michelle Triola had been in a relationship for a few years already, it wasn’t until 1976 that he told Margie about it. They decided to part ways but didn’t divorce until 1984.
As per Dick and Michelle’s relationship, they stayed together until October 30, 2009, when she passed away due to lung cancer at their Malibu, California home. She was 76 years old.
Loved hearing him sing along ....🎉🎂🎉🎂🎉🎂

Amazing show for an amazing fellow! Good on his wife for taking this on! Good on him for being such a sport!
He's still so, so sharp! I swear that singing and dancing does the brain good as well as the body.
Love both him and Julie Andrews
They brought so much joy to us all back then
May they both reign supreme in good health and happiness for many many more years
I wish I had known about this, I'd be there, too. Happy birthday, DVD! You're a joy to all.
He was my father for most of my childhood. To see him old like this... it makes me scared and sad... of what is to come.
Totally tearing up. Mary Poppins was my first movie and "Let's Go Fly A Kite" was always my favorite car ride song with my dad. Happy Birthday Dick and thank you for the fond childhood memories!
Brings back memories. Happy birthday Dick thanks for being such a great role model
My dad brought me to see Mary Poppins when I was very little. The film holds a place in my heart forever.
I’m 68 now and it is still one of my favorite movies and always will be. Dick Van Dyke is an American treasure and a national icon. 🎬
Amazing!!!! Happy Birthday! Let's go fly a kite! :)
Legend! What an amazing man. Still looking and sounding incredible.
So sweet, Happy 90th sir!
Absolutely fantastic!! What a wonderful presentation for him. Beautiful memories and enjoyment of a great classic movie for Dick. He still knows all the words quite well...brilliant!
oh to be in this flash mob to honor such a special man!!!
This song brings happy tears to my eyes and a trip back to one of the happiest moments of my childhood. God bless him.
I was 13 when Mary Poppins came to the screen. I had just gotten out of the hospital after stomach surgery, and instead of taking me home, my Mom and Dad took me right to the theatre to see Mary Poppins. I loved it and loved being alone with my parents as well. A special day.
