I’ve owned mine for 3 months now and love this car . It ticks all my boxes. Expensive compared to other similar full hybrids but worth spending the extra I think. Exterior is not breathtaking by any means but the interior is very comfortable and looks great in my Advance trim. I would highly recommend this car.
Thanks for such a detailed review. It is difficult to get a review with all the information we could possibly need in deciding to buy or not. Best review so far on the ZR -V.

Had my advance a few weeks now and think it's great. Very easy to drive compared to my old deisel Lexus is200d. Pulling off the drive in electric mode (and not disturbing neighbours) then cruising along with no range anxiety is brilliant. The leather feels quality and everything has a solid feel to it. The button gears etc take a bit of getting used to but a pleasure to use once you. It says you mustn't spill anything on the gear change but they've placed the cupholders at the top of it, bizarre. Plenty of elbow room ensures I never irritate my elbow bursitis and storage is tight but managed. The visibility is brilliant, and Honda sensing makes a great safety companion but not as good as the Mrs!
Had my test drive last week in Spain. The test car was in Elegance trim and looked very poor equipped. Was not impressed at all but want to try Advanced one before giving up this option
Had mine now for 6 weeks. I love this car but the only problem is the drivers seat. The seat bolsters are to hard and to high. After driving for a short while the side of my leg is killing me, surely I'm not the only one to have this problem. I've had the seats in all positions and just can't get comfortable. Has anyone else had this problem.
/// Update: we went to another Honda dealer and they let us test drive 3 other ZR-Vs... a petrol and 2 hev. All 3 were quieter than the first one we drove, so potentially that first one had something not right with it? //// I took the ZR-V HEV LX for a test drive yesterday with the wife. The ZR-V is a beautiful build and finish and I was really keen to purchase it. Very quiet at low speeds. However the noise coming in from the sides for both of us on the open road from 80-110 km/hr was really obtrusive and significant. The noise sounded like it was coming straight in through the door window glass on both driver and front passenger at ear level. I spend a lot of time on open roads and it is currently a deal-breaker which is really frustrating as we love the car otherwise. So I am reading and researching trying to find out if this is due to insufficient sound deadening in the doors? 🤷🏻♂️. Or side mirror noise? I am going to take a LX petrol version for a drive to see if it was just an issue with that specific car we drove. If any ZRV owners have any comments that would be appreciated!
hey paulm , i dont know about the comparison with the hev Zrv because we dont get that variant here in the uae however , we test drove the corolla cross hybrid (Top trim) and the normal petrol ZRV EX (top trim) , the outside sound and the engine sound was ridiculous in the corolla cross , we almost got a headache after a while , the ZRV EX petrol won in terms of all aspects (modern/better looking interior exterior , lower cabin noise , higher safety , more smoother and comfier drive) , the difference between the cars and the driving experience was so significant that we did not care about the fuel economy anymore (Cross was much better because it was a hybrid), to conclude we ordered the ZRV EX petrol and i think the noise issue might just be because of the hybrid set up in general , i know this comment is super late , lemme know what car you went for and how has it been so far! Cheers!
@DigitalAssetDiscovery Hi, thanks for the reply! After some test drives of 3 different ZR-V Hybrids cars in the caryard, none of them had that noticeable noise we heard in the earlier test. So we decided to purchase a ZR-V Hybrid. We love it! A great car to drive, the transmission is lovely. And a lovely interior that has some class and subtlety - for me it a great combination. Plus the Australian models are out of the Japanese factory. The 8 year Factory Warranty offered as a special incentive by Honda Australia was a deal clincher. These are complex machines so having 8 years of peace of mind is great Re petrol economy, I mainly only do short trips and drives, anywhere from 3-10 kms. I get around 5.0 litres per 100km. But the petrol economy was not my primary purchase reason... we purchased as we love the interior finish and style and the way it drives and handles. In Grey the exterior design looks nice. In some colours the external design does not look good in my humble opinion. The (petrol) Mazdas we test drove were definitely quieter on the rougher bitumen at high speed (over 70km/hr) but the ZR-V is ok noise-wise and MUCH better in terms of driver visibility and feeling of spaciousness for the driver. I will research and buy some "quieter" tyres when the factory ones wear out. Also to mention, I did really like driving the petrol ZR-V! They were fun to drive especially using the hand paddle shifters. But I decided to pay the extra $$ for the niceness and quietness of the Hybrid when at low speed and idling etc in EV mode. I do drive the occasional long countryside / interstate trip and having a hybrid is wonderful!.... no worrying about battery charging stations etc. Perfect for me. The rear storage is smaller than most mid "SUVs" but it is perfect for us 99% of the time. All the kids have left home, so we don't need large storage areas. I can get my mountain bike (front wheel taken off) into the rear with the seats folded down very easily. Having no spare tyre is a negative, but I have prepared myself with tyre plugs and tools to hopefully get me out of any bad leak situation. Else will have to call the Roadside Assistance if there is a tear in a sidewall, but I haven't had that happen in 30 years of driving yet (sssshhhhh! touch wood). I haven't seen any other ZR-Vs on the road here in Sydney Australia yet 😒... so maybe they are not selling well? But I am not concerned as I love mine and I figure other people are sadly missing out on the experience. The only thing to watch for seems to be a very small Window Washer Fluid reservoir - it seems to be only 2 litres and runs out relatively quickly compared to my Hyundai i30 that had about 5 litres! This can be a chance to scratch your windscreen as you can't tell when it is out of fluid very quickly as the ZR-V doesn't squirt the fluid directly onto the windscreen... it squirts it onto the wiper blade arms.... so hence you don't get advanced warning it has run out 😞. But I am mindful and just top it up each week or two. In summary, 4 months since purchase, 5000km on the odometer, and I have no regrets about my decision - I love driving it and would highly recommend it.
@@paulm5025 hahaha what an amazing feedback! and wow what a coincidence , we also ordered the platinum grey exterior with beige leather (it arrives today!!), that tone is just absolutely stunning. well i guess the set up depends on person to person , i really like to push the pedal a little haha so 1.5T was the one in terms of responsiveness and less engine noise during hard accelerations ZRV is getting attention now here in the UAE but yea ive never heard about it in Australia , you must have a rare piece!. Also the production and assembly for the ZRV's here are also fully done in japan , so you do not need to worry about reliability at all, 8 years warranty is amazinggg actually , we got it for 3 years here but eh its japanese so its gonna last very long either way but yea as an old honda user (Accord), Hondas are super reliable, cheap and easy to maintain and I havent seen more mordern and sleek looking designs in the midsize suv department so it does stand out , it truly is a Gen Z's RV ;)
@@DigitalAssetDiscovery Fantastic! Congratulations on the new car! 😀😀😀. Am sure you will love it! In Australia there was no choice of interior colour for any of the variants 😞. But our market is very small here, so I understand the practicalities for Honda. Have a great time with your ZR-V!
Built on Civic platform which used to be built in UK. Honda wanted to bring it back home so shut Swindon plant. Now this appears built in China. Ruddy insult.
my grandpa is inventor of Electric vehicles which called Omar and this design of this car created from my grandpa is Nicholas Omar and also japan stealing his idea of created this design of this car which called Omar but not honda😑🤨🤔😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡 bad japan my grandpa was born as black british and he had vitiligo now his skin is white
A petrolectric car is not as green a system as fully electric with charging cables and it should be noted that charging my small Renault Zoe only costs £10-£15!!
Home charging an EV can certainly work out cheaper than a petrol or diesel variant. It's one of the many benefits of going electric if it works for your lifestyle.
Unfortunately, it's not an option for some. We had shortlisted the Skoda Enyaq but had to drop it after the council denied our request to install a charger at home because we don't have a driveway (people could trip over the cables). So we've ordered one of these.
The sad thing is that Honda hasn’t gone fully electric!! The current range provides two fully electric options, but it’s more important to make more fully electric vehicles.
That's the beauty of it. It's like driving and electric car without any range anxiety and a full tanking giving a range of around 700 miles in eco mode.

Easy and natural - also the videos here are pretty in-depth.

Height?
Got the seat as high as it will go
No.
I've stood next to one. The fact that it's considered "midsized" is objectively hilarious. Car bloat is real, and it needs to be stopped.

The HRV looks like the E: ny 1. In fact, you get a good looking car with very poor towing ability. Give me the E:ny 1 any day of the week!!
Super dislike for the high gloss black exterior trim many are using nowadays !!
Highlights dust and dirt..
And braches

I wonder how much effort Honda had to put in to make a car look so totally and utterly bland, no matter what angle you view it from.

Just because you love EVs doesn't mean that the majority of customers think the same.
Interesting perspective!
